Throughout history, craftsmen were the foundation of economic and social development. Zagreb has always been a city of craftsmen and to this day has kept the tradition of craftsmanship which is passed on in families from genera-tion to generation.

Membership in the Craftsmen association is regulated by Trades Act. By their entry in the register of crafts, and ob-taining the decision to open a trade, craftsmen acquire the rights to various forms of professional support. Activities of the Zagreb Craftsmen Association include counsel-ling, education, organizing participation in trade fairs and promotional events, cooperation with crafts vocational schools, craftsmen licensing, informing the members, solving status issues and others.

The Zagreb Craftsmen Association (UOGZ) consists of approximately seven thousand craftsmen involved in man-ufacturing and service activities, which are organized into 38 sections and five Guilds according to their professions. We are the largest Association of the City of Zagreb and the Republic of Croatia.

If you decide to visit the Zagreb Craftsmen Association, you can reach the Obrtni dom (Crafts Hall) building on Trg Mažuranića no.13 by public transport (tram or bus), by car or taxi. It is located in the city centre, in the Crafts Hall building, erected in 1910 for needs of crafts, which were the driver of the economic development of Zagreb. Today, it remains very dynamic: various forums, seminars, train-ing, lectures and other activities of the Zagreb craftsmen are held here.

In downtown Zagreb, you can visit many shops recogniz-able for their original, traditional and artistic products.
