ALL ABOUT NNLC
NNLC Charter CLUB PURPOSE
The purpose of the New Neighbors League Club
(NNLC) is to bring together the new neighbors
of the area so they may meet and become friends
while adjusting to new surroundings. The Club is
a not-for-profit social organization with a variety
of interest groups and special activities, including
monthly luncheons and programs.
HISTORY
NNLC is the official social club of New
Neighbors League, Inc. (NNLI), which was
founded in Dayton, Ohio in 1939 by Theodore R.
Briggs. Out of the business of greeting new
residents grew a recognized need for a social
organization allowing newcomers to meet others
who were also new to the area. Theodore’s wife,
Bunny, lived in many cities throughout the
United States and knew the loneliness associated
with moving into unfamiliar areas. With the aid
of the Ohio Federated Women’s Club, the
Constitution and By-Laws for NNLC were
drafted. The first chapter was chartered in
Cincinnati, Ohio in 1943. As the greeting service
operations were established, new club chapters
were founded. Dayton was home for New
Neighbors League until 1986 when Corporate
and Club Headquarters were moved to Atlanta,
Georgia and Cheryl Beaudreault assumed the
position of National President. Currently, there
are fourteen operations nationwide. Each chapter
operates independently within established
guidelines and under the direction of a local
Board of Directors and a Club Director.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership in NNLC is open to any local
woman wanting to meet new people and
make new friends in the community. Prospective
members should attend a Welcome Coffee held
on the first Tuesday of the month. There are two
parts to the initial membership fee. First, a one-
time lifetime membership fee of $25.00 to join
NNLC with transfer privileges to any sister
chapter; this fee is forwarded to National Club
Headquarters. Second, there is a $25
membership fee that remains with the local
chapter to cover administrative expenses (this
amount is pro-rated according to the month
joined). On-going members will pay a $25
annual fee each year in January.
Affiliated Chapters:
Alabama- Birmingham
Georgia- Atlanta, Peachtree City
Kansas- Johnson County
Nebraska- Omaha
Missouri- Kansas City, St. Louis
Ohio- Canton, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo
Tennessee- Nashville
Texas- Corpus Christi
Washington, D.C.
Prospective New Member
Coffee
Moving into a new
community can be exciting,
overwhelming, and often
times, lonely. NNLC can
help make the transition
easier by helping women
find new friends and
activities. If you know of
someone new to the area,
invite her to join us at the
monthly coffee where she
can learn more about
everything NNLC has to
offer.
The next coffee is:
Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 at
10:00 a.m. at
Manchester United
Methodist
129 Woodsmill Rd., Rm 223
Manchester, MO 63011

Welcome to
2016. May this
New Year bring
you joy and
blessings and the
love and
friendship we all
wish to have in
our lives. This year the chapter will need to
plan a fundraising event and we are
hoping many of you may have some
new ideas for events that will be fun
and profitable. We can have one
major event or we can have several
smaller events to raise funds.
Whatever we do, it is my sincere
hope that each of you will commit to
attending and enjoying the fun and
friendship our chapter promises.
Just as events in our lives bring about
changes, so do events in our chapter.
2016 will be a year of change for us.
We need to take a good look at how
some of our activities are scheduled
so we can assure our newest
members they will have activities to
attend. How can we invite someone
to join and then have no group for
them to join? This is an issue we
need to solve and your thoughts on
how we can address this are
welcome.
Here’s to change and good things
happening in NNLC in 2016. I hope
to see each of you in the coming
year.
In Fun and Friendship,
Gay Hampton, Director

DIRECTOR’S & PRESIDENT’S MESSAGES
A new dinner group is forming
(contact [email protected])
for anyone interested. We’ll be
going to lunch at Cyrano’s in
Webster Groves this month-don’t
miss that! Depending on the
weather, Savvy Treasures will be
going again as will many groups
that skipped November and
December because of the
holidays. Fun…fun…fun!!!
But it’s not all about fun. We
have our Care and Share group
which is all about helping others
when there’s a need, both
members and other organizations.
We’re looking for a new leader
for that important part of NNLC.
If you’re interested in learning
more about it, let me or any board
member know.
As we step into 2016, let’s
remember to welcome the new
members that have joined us
recently. And let’s rejoice over
this wonderful club, the friends
we’ve made and the opportunities
we have before us this year.
In Fun and Friendship,
Prudy Bertolino, President
636-209-3309
Happy New
Year! As a
child, &
actually well
into adulthood,
I always made
new year
resolutions.
One year, I
remember, was
to never tell Dave how to drive.
(I’m a chronic back seat driver).
And I kept it…all year! It was
amazing. We actually got to
every place we were going for
365 days without my help! As
this new year begins, I’m just
looking forward to fun things to
come-no resolutions. And our
club has so much to offer in that
regard. Activities and fun events
galore~

CARE & SHARE/TINSEL TRAIL
CARING CORNER
New Care & Share Leader Needed
We are in need of a new leader of our Care and Share
group. This group is such a valuable asset to our club by
giving our members the opportunity for outreach within
our membership and community. It provides a platform
for anyone who would like to volunteer for a worthwhile
cause or help a member in need. If you are interested
in coordinating this group or in participating in one of the
many Care and Share activities, please contact Prudy
Bertolino, [email protected]
Wishing
everyone a
very Happy
New Year!
To all the VID and VIV (Very Important Decorators and Volunteers): Kathy and I would
like to thank you all for the tremendous job on the tinsel trail. We appreciate the time
and energy put into each lovely home. Without your generous help, this event would not
be possible.
To the Homeowners: a special thank you for volunteering your beautiful homes to be on
the tour. We had so many compliments on how beautiful your homes were so thank you
for your patience and understanding while we took over your homes for decorating.
Events like this year's Tinsel Trail are never possible without the help of wonderful
volunteers such as yourselves. We applaud each and every one of you!
May you all have a very blessed New Year!
