Samuel & Sons Introduces the Harbour Collection
JANUARY 2014 (NEW YORK, NY) – This spring, Samuel & Sons, the premier passementerietradition in the interior design community, introduces the Harbour collection. Get swept away by the unexpected subtle beauty of this sea-inspired, natural linen collection of passementerie. The Harbour collection introduces a selection of organic cords, braids and hand-knotted fringe reminiscent of nautical regalia, available in nine contemporary color offerings.
This slightly rough-hewn collection focuses on the inherent nature and beauty of linen and its translation when woven. The Harbour color palette lies within quiet hues of Sand Dune, Flax and Sea Crest, as well as nostalgic maritime colors such as Sail, Navy and Lobster. The poetic vision of the Harbour collection is realized in its linen fiber, nautical knotting techniques and oceanic color spectrum.
Each of the nine striking designs brings the collection’s nautical theme to life with distinct colorwaysand characteristics. The Harbour Beaded Braid features yarn wrapped beads floating across the waves of an intricate lanyard gimp. The Harbour Barrel Knot Fringe, with its alternating length twisted rope hangers and nautical Barrel knot detailing, is a fun addition to the collection. The Harbour Cord with Tape, available in 1/8” and 3/8”, conveys a subtle sophistication, well suited for numerous décor possibilities. The Harbour Serpentine Braid twists a classic figure eight design, making the singular wrapped cord one continuous piece. The result is an open woven braid with a flowing feel.
The classic Harbour Linen Brush Fringe provides an elegant accent to pillows and upholstered pieces alike with a full bodied design. The Harbour Beaded & Knotted Holdback lends an inspired touch to window treatments with its alternating bead and knot design, reminiscent of a nautical rope. The Harbour Crown Knot Frog features an historic Crown knot center, framed by four whimsical loops on either side, allowing the frog to lay flat or bend as needed. The Harbour Linen Key Tassel updates the classic key tassel with a tightly structured body and manicured skirt, which yields a fresh finish to create a bold no frills accent.
The Harbour collection from Samuel & Sons is available in the New York flagship showroom, the Chicago showroom in the famous Merchandise Mart, and most recently, in London’s esteemed Design Center Chelsea Harbour, as well as in fine showrooms throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.
