So here's a history of Rap Beats and how it gave birth to what we know now as hip-hop. The history and origin of hip-hop can be traced to the African continent. The African tribes had many gatherings and rituals that made use of Beats, drums, and even foot stomping. These rituals consisted of performing before war, birth of children, and death of fellow tribesmen. They accompanied these drum lines with chanting and singing in sync with the drumming. This could be the inspiration as to where rapping came from. From the African inspiration also came the innovation of the people from Kingston, Jamaica. Kool Herc and fellow Kingston natives gathered together to form DJ conglomerates. They communicated with audiences through their music. Herc later moved to the Bronx in the late 60'swhere hip-hop was truly born. Kool Herc's style caught on with the people as he emphasized the use of turn tables and speaking to the crowd to get them into the music, which can be called "call and response". Soon after, other New York DJ's were getting into the act creating their own parties and playing their beats. Upcoming DJ's tried to make things unique by busting out lyrics that would rhyme. Herc at one point took care of the tables and passed his microphones to two of his friends for them to start chanting over the beats. This is where rap was first born. Hip-hop, rap, and Rap Beats widely gained popularity in the 70's onward. The Bronx's and other New York natives started to appreciate and embrace the music in its own right. The music mainly consisted of using beats, samples, drums, and rapping. They also used the music for other reasons rather than entertainment. For example, hip-hop was used to bring peace to gangs that were at war and it also created an art of its own. South Bronx soon held many parties that made use of the new sound. As the rising popularity continued to grow, more and more artists emerged. Rappers also expounded on lyrics stating political and other issues being talked about. This also gave birth to the golden age of hip-hop which garnered a huge boost in sales with regards to the music industry, revolutionizing the whole scene. It's really amazing how these African beats and drum sounds have come this far to create a whole new and evolving sound and culture we have today. the best instrumentals online

Page 1: The History of Rap Beats

Are you a hip-hop music fan? If so you're probably familiar with the current top charting songs on the

Billboard 100 or on any other music channel. Just check the rankings every week and you'll surely find a

hip-hop song with Beats that make you want to bang your head.  Maybe it's these Rap Beats that make you

appreciate the genre itself. All music starts with instruments. Jazz and classical music rely heavy on brass

winds and other classical instruments. Hip-hop however heavily relies on their Beats and drum lines.

Although there have been many variations of hip-hop nowadays, the origins of hip-hop still hold true as it is

still one of the most popular kinds of music today. So here's a history of Rap Beats and how it gave birth to

what we know now as hip-hop.

The history and origin of hip-hop can be traced to the African continent. The African tribes had many

gatherings and rituals that made use of Beats, drums, and even foot stomping. These rituals consisted of

performing before war, birth of children, and death of fellow tribesmen. They accompanied these drum lines

with chanting and singing in sync with the drumming. This could be the inspiration as to where rapping

came from. From the African inspiration also came the innovation of the people from Kingston, Jamaica.

Kool Herc and fellow Kingston natives gathered together to form DJ conglomerates. They communicated

with audiences through their music. Herc later moved to the Bronx in the late 60'swhere hip-hop was truly

born. Kool Herc's style caught on with the people as he emphasized the use of turn tables and speaking to

the crowd to get them into the music, which can be called "call and response". Soon after, other New York

DJ's were getting into the act creating their own parties and playing their beats. Upcoming DJ's tried to make

things unique by busting out lyrics that would rhyme. Herc at one point took care of the tables and passed

his microphones to two of his friends for them to start chanting over the beats. This is where rap was first

born.

Hip-hop, rap, and Rap Beats widely gained popularity in the 70's onward. The Bronx's and other New York

natives started to appreciate and embrace the music in its own right. The music mainly consisted of using

beats, samples, drums, and rapping. They also used the music for other reasons rather than entertainment.

For example, hip-hop was used to bring peace to gangs that were at war and it also created an art of its own.

South Bronx soon held many parties that made use of the new sound. As the rising popularity continued to

grow, more and more artists emerged. Rappers also expounded on lyrics stating political and other issues

being talked about. This also gave birth to the golden age of hip-hop which garnered a huge boost in sales

with regards to the music industry, revolutionizing the whole scene. It's really amazing how these African

beats and drum sounds have come this far to create a whole new and evolving sound and culture we have

today.
