Minutes of the meeting held July 11, 2016, were read and approved. Interim County Engineer Tom Stoner pre- sented a permit to reconstruct German Ave. south of US 20-150’. New street to be 36’ wide and 6” concrete on 8” of aggregate base within the Ida County Right of Way located in Sec- tion 6/88/40 for Imperial Development Co. LLC. Paulsrud moved to approve and authorize the Chair to sign said permit. Phillips seconded the motion and it carried, all voting Aye. Rita Frahm, Ida County Economic Develop- ment, was present to request financial support for an application for a possible industrial spec. building. The Board requested a sample reso- lution for their consideration. The Board acknowledged receipt of manure management plans from H & R Partnership- Alesha Finisher Farm. Board members present: Don Friedrichsen, Evan Johnson, Heather Pribble, Jamie Whitmer, and Grant Aschinger. Absent: Kyle Bennett and Dave Kistenmacher. Administrators: Superintendent Jon Wiebers and Principals Bret Warnke, Mike Richard and Jerod Mozer. Visitors present: Darren Nuckolls (7:22 p.m.). Call to order: President Don Friedrichsen @ 7:02 p.m. Motion by Johnson, second by Aschinger to approve agenda as presented. Motion carried 5-0. Motion by Johnson, second by Aschinger to approve Frank and Sextro Attorneys at Law as legal counsel for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried 5-0. Motion by Aschinger, second by Pribble to approve appointment of Cynthia Dittmer as secretary/treasurer for the Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC NOTICE Ida County Board of Supervisors PUBLIC NOTICE of Storm Water Discharge The Iowa Department of Transportation plans to submit a Notice of Intent to the Iowa Depart- ment of Natural Resources to be covered un- der the National Pollutant Discharge Elimi- nation System (NPDES) General Permit No. 2, “Storm Water Discharge Associated with Industrial Activity for Construction Activi- ties.” The storm water discharge will be from high- way construction activity located in Ida and Sac Counties on U.S. Highway 20. The project is construction of 4 lane highway from west of Adams Avenue of U.S. 71. The Public Lands Survey location is Township 89N/88N, Range 38W, Sections 36/4 to Township 89N/88N, Range 37W, Sections 35/5. Storm water will be discharged from 35 point sources and will be discharged into the follow- ing: road ditch to unnamed draws to Maple River and Boyer River. The Galva-Holstein Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, July 11, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in Galva-Holstein Media Center. Board members present: Don Friedrichsen, Evan Johnson, Heather Pribble, Jamie Whitmer, and Grant Aschinger. Absent: Kyle Bennett and Dave Kistenmacher.

Administrators: Superintendent Jon Wiebers and Principals Bret Warnke, Mike Richard and Jerod Mozer.

Visitors present: Darren Nuckolls (7:22 p.m.).

Call to order: President Don Friedrichsen @ 7:02 p.m.

Motion by Johnson, second by Aschinger to approve agenda as presented. Motion carried 5-0.

Motion by Pribble, second by Johnson to approve minutes of June 16 and June 29, 2016, board meetings. Motion carried 5-0.

Motion by Johnson, second by Aschinger to approve bills as presented. Motion carried 4-0 (Whitmer abstained).

Financial statements were presented with approval at a later date.

Thank-you letters from retired employees Anita Radke and Dena Stille were read by Superintendent Wiebers.

Motion by Johnson, second by Pribble to approve changes in student handbooks presented by Principals Warnke and Richard for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Aschinger, second by Pribble to approve all registration fees for 2016-2017 as proposed by Superintendent Wiebers. Motion carried 5-0.

Motion by Johnson, second by Aschinger to approve milk bid submitted by Dean Foods for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried 5-0.

Motion by Aschinger, second by Pribble to approve appointment of The Holstein Advance as the offi cial newspaper for district for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Johnson, second by Aschinger to approve Frank and Sextro Attorneys at Law as legal counsel for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried 5-0.

Motion by Aschinger, second by Pribble to approve appointment of Cynthia Dittmer as

secretary/treasurer for the Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion Johnson, second by Aschinger to approve banks of depository as follows: Heritage Bank, (general, lunch and activity funds) and United Bank of Iowa (schoolhouse fund) and Community Bank with a maximum deposit set at $2,700,000 for the 2016-2017 school year. Motion carried 4-0 (Pribble abstained).

Motion by Pribble, second by Whitmer to approve legislative priorities as follows: Early Literacy, School Funding Policy, and the preservation of the Statewide Penny Sales Tax for school infrastructure. Alternate priority: Adequate fi nancial support of the area education agencies. Motion carried 5-0.

PUBLIC NOTICEof Storm Water Discharge

The Iowa Department of Transportation plans to submit a Notice of Intent to the Iowa Depart-ment of Natural Resources to be covered un-der the National Pollutant Discharge Elimi-nation System (NPDES) General Permit No. 2, “Storm Water Discharge Associated with Industrial Activity for Construction Activi-ties.”

The storm water discharge will be from high-way construction activity located in Ida and Sac Counties on U.S. Highway 20. The project is construction of 4 lane highway from west of Adams Avenue of U.S. 71. The Public Lands Survey location is Township 89N/88N, Range 38W, Sections 36/4 to Township 89N/88N, Range 37W, Sections 35/5.

Storm water will be discharged from 35 point sources and will be discharged into the follow-ing: road ditch to unnamed draws to Maple River and Boyer River.
