Were why and when is the holy baptism done?
The holy baptism is practiced everywhere live orthodox Christians mostly the eastern Europe.
It is a rite when the one being baptized unites with the holy orthodox church. It can be done in any age but only once.
What is the holy baptism? The universal meaning of baptism is that of “starting new”.
In the orthodox Christian church the practice of baptism is new birth by water and Holy Spirit into the kingdom of God.
How and who does the rite? The holy baptism need to be performed by an orthodox priest.
The rejection of Satan and the acceptance of Christ
A person who godparents the catechumen officially proclaims the symbol of Christian faith
After the proclamation of faith, the baptismal water is prayed over and blessed as the sign of the goodness of God’s creation.
The person to be baptized is also blessed with sanctified oil.
At the end the catechumen is immersed on water 3 times in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit
After the baptism The newly-baptized is given the gift of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of
Chrismation.
The newly-baptized can now take part at all the church mysteries
But when the baptism was founded
The baptism was founded by our lord Jesus Christ at the Jordan river when he got baptized by saint john the baptizer.
An interesting fact Our present procession around the church building on Easter night is
nothing more than our remembrance that we are baptized
Each year on 6 January when the lord Jesus Christ was baptized the Jordan river goes back

One day I may baptize the kids of one of one of my friends
