With a server that integrates seamlessly into your existingbusiness environment and increases efficiency, you canunlock the hidden value from your business assets and IT resources, including your people, processes, andtechnology.

Taking the value of Integrity serversto the next level: the HP mx2 dual-processor module, consisting of two Intel Itanium 2 processorsThe HP Integrity server family, which already offers singleIntel Itanium 2 processors, is now even stronger with the introduction of the HP mx2 dual-processor module.Developed by HP, the mx2 dual-processor moduledoubles the number of Itanium 2 processors that can bedeployed in the same chassis for the Integrity Superdome,Integrity rx8620-32, Integrity rx7620-16, and Integrityrx4640-8 server models. This means that the industry-leading flexibility, performance, and investment protectionyou’ve come to expect from the Integrity server familyhave been further enhanced.

Now, mx2-based Integrity servers offer nearly twice theworkload capacity and nearly twice the performancedensity compared to current, single Itanium 2–basedIntegrity servers. Whether you evolve your current HP 9000 or Integrity servers with in-chassis upgrades to the mx2 dual-processor modules or purchase new mx2-based Integrity servers, you can improve consolidationof demanding workloads across multiple operatingenvironments on these high-performance, highly flexible platforms.

HP Integrity servers: industry-leading performance, flexibility, and value

HP Integrity servers are the ideal building blocks forcreating the Adaptive Enterprise, which synchronizesbusiness and information technology (IT) to capitalize onchange. An Adaptive Enterprise provides the agility andflexibility that today’s competitive environment demands. It can anticipate problems and move quickly to meet new challenges as they arise while managing costs andderiving the best possible return on assets. HP Integrityservers offer the flexibility, performance, and value toenable this level of adaptability.

Flexibility begins with best-in-class IT solutions—oftenrequiring skills, resources, and hardware for heterogeneousenvironments. Integrity servers run the industry’s leadingoperating environments, including HP-UX 11i, Linux,Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003, and OpenVMS. Withthis kind of flexibility and choice built into the Integrityserver, you can deploy new solutions easily and quickly.

In addition, Integrity servers achieve industry-leadingperformance across multiple workloads and operatingenvironments by maximizing the Intel® Itanium® 2processor. The Itanium processor is integrated with the HP Scalable Processor Chipset zx1 for entry-level servers, and with the HP Super-Scalable Processor Chipset sx1000for midrange and high-end servers, thereby increasingmemory and I/O subsystem scalability.

Maximum flexibilityYou can mix single Intel Itanium processors and mx2 dual-processor modules in the same chassis on the cell-board architectures of the Integrity Superdome, Integrityrx8620-32, and Integrity rx7620-16 servers. And, as yourfuture business requirements change, you can redeployIntegrity servers to run a different IT solution on a differentoperating system. This level of flexibility demonstrates HP’scommitment to increasing your investment protection aswell as the value of Integrity solutions.

Standards-based technologies thatsimplify change and reduce costsTo build an Adaptive Enterprise that can capitalize onchange, an organization needs a standard, consistentapproach to business and IT. An important part of suchan approach is the use of industry-standard architectures, reusable components, and consistent implementation, which together help reduce costs and simplify change. By designing products based on industry-standardtechnologies like the Intel Itanium 2 processor, HPprovides solutions that integrate easily into existing ITenvironments and consist of reusable components, offering longevity that protects technology investments.Overall, these standards-based technologies from HPfurther help reduce the complexity of an IT infrastructure.

Simplify changeThe Integrity server family is an important part of HP’sportfolio designed to help businesses simplify change.Integrity servers are the ideal platform for customers thatwant to get the best value from their IT investment bymarshaling resources dynamically to meet new challengesas they arise.

The superior compute power of Integrity servers makesresource management simple and effective throughapplication and server consolidation. Consolidationsimplifies system management, frees up resources forbusiness processes rather than IT maintenance, and enables a more streamlined infrastructure that adapts toand handles change quickly and easily. What’s more, consolidation reduces costs in terms of hardware, softwarelicenses, and physical space. Flexible, scalable, and high-performance, Integrity servers are the platform of choice forconsolidating resources and achieving superior utilization. This leads the way to a simplified infrastructure built onreusable components—a foundation for the AdaptiveEnterprise.

Reduce costsReduced acquisition and operating costs are keys toimproving return on IT investment (RoIT). Integrity serverscan help you get the best possible RoIT. And withroadmaps that include future in-chassis Itanium processorupgrades, your investment is protected and you arepositioned to adapt quickly as the needs of yourenterprise evolve. With the mx2 dual-processor module, the Integrity server family now offers even greaterinvestment protection by allowing you to get nearly twicethe workload capacity from the same chassis in high-end,midrange, and entry-level models, for an outstanding totalcost of ownership (TCO).

Whichever server model yoursolution requires—from entry-level to high-end—the flexibility, performance, and investmentprotection of the Integrity serverfamily will help you respondeffectively to your most urgentbusiness challenges.

With HP Systems Insight Manager and HP OpenViewtools, you can further reduce costs, minimize complexity, and increase efficiency through intelligent managementcapabilities across the multiple operating systems offeredin the broad HP server portfolio. And, by using theinnovative server virtualization capabilities that are part ofthe HP Virtual Server Environment—including partitioning, leadership workload management, and high-availabilityand on-demand offerings—you can adapt your systemresources dynamically, all while maintaining service levelsand aligning resources with your business needs and budget.

HP also offers high-availability storage through solutionslike HP-UX 11i cluster certifications, Microsoft ClusterService Certification, and multipath software connection.HP solutions improve problem-resolution time with unifiedservers, storage, management software, and services—which include planning, installation, migration, andmanagement services. HP OpenView software, includingOpenView Storage Area Manager (SAM), allows you tomanage your IT infrastructure and troubleshoot networkswith a unified and integrated enterprise-widemanagement solution for reduced TCO.

Integrity servers are supported by HP rack infrastructureproducts and are designed and built to the highest HPquality standards, offering ease of use during integrationand installation. The HP Rack System/E comes withenhanced ventilation and fully perforated top, front, andrear door, letting the equipment breathe and eliminatingthe need for additional fans. You can choose from a widevariety of products to power your rack and protect yourdata. Integrity servers are available with factoryintegration into HP Rack System/E.

In addition to these cost advantages, HP Financial Servicesoffers flexible and practical financing options to get you on the fast track to building your Adaptive Enterprise withHP Integrity servers. We can help you lease your newsolution cost-effectively. We can also remove your existingequipment and pay you for technology that has remainingmarket value.

Companies interested in further reducing their total costsmay take advantage of an HP Pay per use arrangement. When you acquire your Integrity Superdome, Integrityrx8620-32, or Integrity rx7620-16 server using Pay peruse, you pay for your solution according to your level ofuse. You will never pay more than you would with atraditional lease, and you will likely pay less. Pay per useincreases your agility, improves your level of service, andreduces your total cost of computing.
