From the Principal’s desk…

Who can believe we are already at the end of

week 1, Term 4? It only seems like yesterday

that we were at the beginning of Term 2 in the

learning from home phase. This year is

certainly one that we won’t forget!

With visitors still unable to come to school

events, we are working on a plan for our 2020

Art Exhibition. We are planning a virtual

exhibition for week 5 that will showcase the

work of students across K-12. A link will be

posted to Facebook and through School

Stream so you can access the online exhibition.

Of course, if anything changes in the mean

time we will endeavour to have the exhibition

in person.

Our Presentation Evening has been set for

December 8th. We have our fingers crossed

that parents are able to attend however this

will depend on the current guidelines

changing. If they don’t change and we can’t

have parents in attendance, we will change to

a day presentation for students.

With Year 12 in their last week of school, we

have been enjoying their daily dress ups. If you

follow our Facebook page, you will have seen

the daily posts with them in their costumes.

We’ve had a Cat in the Hat theme, ‘The

Hangover’ movie stars, the Jamaican bobsled

team and today we had The Smurfs. We look

forward to seeing what they come as

tomorrow! In the morning we will have our

Year 12 breakfast, treating the Year 12 boys to

bacon and eggs for their final day at school. We

are hoping to plan their Year 12 formal after

their exams, fitting in with their harvest jobs.

We’d like to wish Year 12 all the best for their

HSC exams, which begin on Tuesday. You’re

almost at the end of 13 years of school and we

could not be prouder of you all!

We’re finally able to organise local excursions

for students. Years 3-6 have the opportunity to

participate in the local Cricket Blast Schools

Cup in West Wyalong on Tuesday 27th

October. The school buses will finally be put to

use again! A permission note was sent home

via School Stream yesterday for you to fill in.

Students are reminded that they are expected

to wear school uniform each day. Towards the

end of last term, there were a number of

students who were regularly out of uniform. If

you are having financial difficulty in

purchasing uniforms, please contact me at

school so we can make arrangements to help.

Next week, Year 3 students will complete their

online Check-in Assessments, which Years 5

and 9 completed last term. The results will

assist teachers to cater for all students in their

classroom.

Until next term,

Terrie Payne
