AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL- Amnesty International is an international human rights organization, which strives for a better world where everyone’s human rights, enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, are adequately protected. As the Hun School chapter of Amnesty, we hope to raise awareness in human rights issues amongst the Hun School community. We organize letter-writing campaigns, fundraisers, and other fun activities that will make real contributions to human rights issues around the globe. We did various campaigns including gay rights, Syria, to death penalty abolishment last year, and we welcome anyone that will help us carry on the noble work! Point Value= 1 point Contact Mr. Bush, Kevin Chen, or Maddie Carlson

BACKGAMMON CLUB- Want to learn how to play an ancient board game, that is still very common and popular today? Backgammon was created around 3000 B.C. in Persia. It is one of the oldest board games still played today, and is even older than Chess! Backgammon is not only simple and fun, it is also mentally challenging and rewarding. If you would like to learn how to play the game, then join our club! We can also help you improve if you already know how to play. We will be meeting on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month in room 223B. Point Value= 1 point Contact Mr. Soudah or Sam Ferdows

BLACK STUDENT UNION - Allows students to understand the experiences, history and culture of African-descended people. Offers identity exercises that showcase the Black experience. The group meets to discuss issues that impact members of the black community and teach more about the positive contributions those members of the African Diaspora have made to the world. The goal is to understand yourself as an individual and then look at the ways that you contribute to society at large. The club will help the members develop a better understanding of political, social and cultural forces that impact the world through a black student lens. Club membership is open to ALL Hun students no matter what your cultural/racial background. Point Value= 1 point Contact Dr. Fabian or Skylar Tucker

CERTAMEN- Certamen is defined as a contest, struggle, or strife (whether friendly or hostile, physical or intellectual). The Certamen itself is similar to the popular game show Jeopardy. Using buzzers, teams of 4 try to buzz in first to earn 10 points and then have a chance for two more additional 5 point challenges. Each team will strive to have an “expert in in grammar, translation, history, and mythology. This club is not just for students of Latin, but for anyone with knowledge in Roman history, culture, and mythology. Students hoping to improve their English vocabulary will also benefit from the derivative work. Certamen is a contest that not only rewards those with the knowledge to succeed, but also with the courage and confidence and agility to be the first to buzz in and take a risk! 8th graders can join their upper school peers in the first level of competition while two other levels of play are available to more advanced students. Students will compete with each other and with other Princeton area and New Jersey schools as they strive to qualify for the national tournament in Texas! Point Value= 1 point Contact Mr. Snow
