Bal Vikas Progressive School was founded by Shri Rajeshwar Nath in 2006 as one of the many social services of Raj Charitable Trust. It is an extension of the Founder`s dream of providing excellent educational facilities to the children of Panipat at affordable fees .It is located in a serene and sprawling campus near village Jatol on the outskirts of Panipat towards Thermal Power Station. It is an English medium, Co-educational CBSE affiliated school having educationists, intellectuals and prominent professionals as members of the Management Committee. Bal Vikas Progressive School supports an education system that emphasizes "Experiential Learning". The focus is on challenging the students to explore new ideas and hone their capabilities and skills. It is an institution that believes in going beyond academics and places special emphasis on extracurricular activities, which are crucial to the overall growth of the child. Our belief is that there is a musician, a dancer, an orator and an artist hidden in every child waiting to be discovered .We ensure that every child gets the opportunity to speak, dance and perform thereby overcoming their inhibition.

IN CONVERSATION LEARNING TODAY.....LEADING TOMORROW...... Education is the most important factor for the development of human civilization. Education provides the nation with man powers, promotes national unity and uplifts public awareness. A country needs different kinds of man power such as doctors, engineers, teachers, administrative officials, economists, judges and other technical hands. Education provides the nation with those educated hands. If people are educated, they can understand their duties and rights. In order to uplift human society, each should be capable to understand others.
If people can understand each other, they will be united. Thus, education can promote national unity. To uplift the degree of awareness of the society, education plays a prime role. It makes all people conscious. They will not follow the old and evil tradition. Educated people can reform the society. They can understand what is wrong and what is right. They can save good traditions. Education profoundly enhances human prosperity. Ms Harshita Sharma Faculty of English
EDUCATION IS NOT SOLELY ABOUT EARNING A GREAT LIVING. IT MEANS LIVING
A GREAT LIFE……..

A DAUGHTER
I am God's creation, unique and different
I am a daughter I complete the world
I carry it forward
When I was born, To some I bring joy, And to other sorrow,
Some will cherish me and nurture me Others will cut me down Before I bloom.
As I grow up, I lose my identity I must be married off.....
I become a wife, a daughter in law, a mother
But, I cease to be myself
From me life begins,
Without me it would end, why is then, that I can be bruised, scared
and bleeding all over?
A time will come When I shall be born no more,
Or the creator shall realize,
His priceless creation ---- A Daughter.

The Pokémon League
One day, I saw a dream of Pokémon as I was one of its greatest fans and its games. In that, I was Ash, a developing Pokémon trainer. It was the first day of my Pokémon journey. I had to choose my first Pokémon. All the new Pokémon trainers were given a choice of BULBASAUR, CHARMANDER or SQUIRTLE. I had to take my Pokémon from Professor Oak. As I woke up late in the morning, I reached late. All the Pokémons had gone. I had no choice! Professor Oak gives me another choice PIKACHU. It was a difficult one to handle for a new trainer. PIKACHU was an electric type Pokémon which means it gave a lot of electric shocks. PIKACHU didn’t like me, which was a bad thing as a Pokémon and its trainer should have a good bond. As the time kept passing by, we became best friends. We captured many Pokémons like PIGEOTO, SQUIRTLE, BULBASAUR, etc. To register in a league, we must win the eight badges from the Pokémon Masters.
I trained my Pokémons to win the gym battles and the league as well. On our way to the first gym battle, we met a girl named Misti. She was a trainer of aquatic type Pokémons. We started our journey together. We won all the gym battles and the badges as well. Our dream was becoming true. Now, it was the most difficult time-competing against the greatest Pokémon trainers. My competition was with Gary. He was the son of Professor Oak. He had a lot of potential, caliber and good Pokémons like DRAGONAIR, JOLTEON, etc. He was one of the best contenders out there. It was a tough match. But, after a lot of ups and downs, I won! I was as happy as a lark. I moved on to the final match. I won that as well. It was the greatest moment ever! I had become a Pokémaster. This was the best dream I’ve ever had. I hope I get a lot of good dreams like this. But not much or I’ll get lost in my Dream world.

YOU CAN AND YOU WILL
One of the biggest fears every student has as they enter the exam hall is that their mind will go blank and they will suddenly forget every last thing they know. First of all, you’d be amazed what facts start to come flooding back to you once you pick up a pen and start answering a question. Second of all, there are lots of memory tricks you can use that will help you recall information in a more formal and structured way.
Get Organized Tidying your desk should be top of your to-do list. Tidy your room, or whichever space you’re using for studying. Get your notes organised neatly into different subjects. Physically de-cluttering and bringing about order in your environment has the strange effect of doing the same to the mind making you far better able to cope with memorizing and recalling facts.
Experience Things Practically
If you’re learning about a scientific experiment, try to do it in real life rather than simply reading about it in a textbook. That way, when it comes to the exam, you’ll have practical experience to draw on and you can recall what really happened when you undertook the experiments. Also try to attempt the question papers of previous years so that you run on the track very smoothly on the day of the exam.
Rhyming
Putting information into a rhyme is another way of making it easier to remember. Your rhyme could be a little more modern-sounding to help you remember it, or you could use some tried and tested rhyming schemes such as rhyming couplets to help cement facts in your brain.
BVPS April – August 2017 Page 48
Use Flow Charts and Diagrams
To memorize big answers make flow charts and concept maps to memorize the answers well.
Make Up a Story Simon was a chemist’s son, Simon is no more, For what he thought was H2O, Was H2SO4. To help your brain absorb bigger chunks of information, another trick you could try is to break the information down and make up a story linking together each piece of information. It’s a little like the memory palace idea we discussed earlier in this article, but it plays with the imagination to a greater extent because the story you make up doesn’t have to be spatially limited in your mind. For example, if you need to memorise a complicated chemical formula, you could name the molecules with human names beginning with the same letter (Carol = Chlorine, for example) and make up a little story in which the actions of the characters mirror those of the molecules in the formula. This can be a remarkably effective method of learning trickier, drier information, as it helps to bring it to life a bit and gives it a more human touch that makes it easier to relate to.
Get a Good Night Sleep It may not sound like it, but one of the best things you can do to help you remember things is to get a good night’s sleep – not just the night before the exam, but every night. We’re not just saying that because getting the right amount of sleep will help you perform better, retain mental agility and ward off stress and tiredness. We’re saying it because it’s when you’re sleeping that your brain performs the vital task of converting facts from short-term memory into long-term memory. During the course of a good night’s sleep, your brain processes the information you’ve learnt during the day and stores it, meaning that you’re far more likely to be able to recall it than if you barely slept. So, get the recommended eight hours’ sleep each and every night. Sleep may feel like a luxury you can’t afford right now, but believe us, it’s one of the most important things you can do for exam success!

NEVER SAY QUIT!!!
Failures are the ones Which don’t stick but easily yield.
Without trying enough hard They quit the field
If they continue to
Play their game It’s certain that they will
Earn name and fame
Success requires one to Sweat, toil and fight.
May it be a hot day Or may it be a wintry night
It needs to be explained.
To them all, that what makes one succeed
Is getting up after the fall!!!!

Life is a Gift
Today before you think of saying an unkind
word– think of someone who can’t speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food– think of someone who has nothing to
eat.
Today before you complain about life– think of someone who went too early to
heaven.
Before you complain about your children– think of someone who desires children but
they’re barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or
sweep– think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive– think of someone who walks the
same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job– think of the unemployed, the
disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the
finger or condemning another– remember that not one of us are without sin and we all
answer to one maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down– put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.
Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it,
Celebrate it, and Fulfil it.

An Experience you had with a Complete Stranger
This world is too small and the population is too big to be counted. People meet they know them and maybe forget them soon. But in my life, I’ve met someone, someone who left an impact on my life, who shared the sourness and happiness of his life but then left, left without even looking back at me. It hurts but somewhere I knew it was for our future, the people won’t accept and believe our friendship, our happiness. India and Pakistan share a history since the independence, I’ve grown up listening to my grandparents, that earlier before partition they lived in Lahore and belonged to a very wealthy family, but everything finished or converted into anger. The anger of people today makes their children believe that they are the enemies. ‘Muslims are the enemies’, ’They are the terrorists.’ But is it true? The youth today don’t know how things were 65 years ago, they don’t share the same thoughts as our ancestors. They think independently without the bound or barriers of the India and Pakistan border. Just like that I met a Pakistani guy, named Karan. We had so many thing in common that led us to a beautiful phase of our lives. We both belonged to the same fandom the ‘bieber’s’ – ‘believers’. The first time we talked never felt like things will lead a different path, but it did. We became the best of the bestest friends. He used to pamper me, get angry on me and always led me on the right path. Whenever I used to fight with my mother he would make me imagine as if he was by my side trying to make me feel better and whenever I used to cry, he used to hug me and tell me, ‘I looked nice while crying but not when I cry for no reason.’ Of course, like any other besties we both used to fight a lot but just like any other besties the fight would get buried under the lane. Things changed, he changed, we started hiding things from each other, started lying, and started ignoring. When I asked him he always tried to change the topic and leave. I got worried, then from someone I got to know that Karan was facing heartbreak and he wanted a break from all of us. I supported him, I started giving him time to open up with me and tell me everything in his own words. He said,’ Words were not enough to express his feelings.’ I asked him what he wanted. He said something unexpected that he didn’t want to take this friendship of our further he wanted to go away. It was as if someone had stabbed a knife in my stomach and told me I am dead, but no matter what I had to accept it and gulp it down my throat. I let him do what he wanted and wished for him, after all his happiness was all wanted.

So just like that we separated our ways forever and our friendship ended forever. Whatever we shared is a happy history. A love no one will understand. But no matter how far we are from each other in distance we both knew it was magic to be with each other. He was my best friend. That’s how once again India and Pakistan separated. Now I guess I know the pain that how it feels to lose someone. Now, I am happy and I wish he is happy too. We were like ‘Justin and Ariana’ the best friends forever. I never imagined in my wildest that someone will come and change me for my betterment. All I can say now to him is A Thank You, because someone told me once that ‘Everybody comes for a purpose in our life and leaves when the purpose is finished.’ Thank You Karan and this is beautiful tribute to our friendship or used what to be friendship. He used to say that, ‘Life is worth living so live another day.’

What costume do you wear in your secret fantasy life? What role would you play? I will play the role of guitar’s strings that will go directly in my heart and will spread gladness and colour to my soul. I would prefer to wear a costume which has a lightning guitar printed on it which is producing blue ranges that would enhance my ability through its sparks. It would make me encourage to face the challenges in life. The tunes and rhythm of the strings will make my life musical and full of inspirational lyrics. My heart and mind will gloom in darkness. My passion will lighten every dark day of my life. My journey of life will end in the magical world of miracles and unlimited powers. My secrets will have no limits, my gladness will know no bounds and the final day of my life will end with a picture of me and my guitar playing my favourite song………………

The Poor Man's Wealth
Ramchand and Premchand were neighbours. Ramchand was a poor farmer. Premchand was a landlord. Ramchand used to be very relaxed and happy. He never bothered to close the doors and windows of his house at night. He had deep sound sleeps. Although he had no money, he was peaceful. Premchand used to be very tense always. He was very keen to close the door and windows at night. He could not sleep well.He was always bothered that someone might break open his safes and steal away his money. He envied the peaceful Ramchand. One day, Premchand called Ramchand and gave him a boxful of cash saying, "Look my dear friend. I am blessed with plenty of wealth. I find you in poverty. So, take this cash and live in prosperity." Ramchand was overwhelmingly happy. He was joyful throughout the day. Night came. Ramchand went to bed as usual. But today, he could not sleep. He went and closed the doors and windows. He still could not sleep. He began to keep looking at the box of cash. The whole night was disturbed. As soon as the day broke, Ramchand took the box of cash to Premchand. He gave away the box of cash to Premchand saying,"Dear friend, I am poor. But your money took away peace from me. Please bear with me and take your money." Moral: We cannot buy everything with money.
The Two Pots
It was a cyclonic season. There was flood everywhere. Many houses drowned in the flood. There was a copper pot and an earthen pot in a house. Both these were washed away in the flood to a river. The copper pot called the earthen pot and said, "My friend, you are made of mud. You are so weak. Please come near me, I will save you." The earthen pot replied, "Thank you for your kindness, my friend. But let me swim to the bank by myself." The earthen pot began to swim towards the bank of the river. As the copper pot tried to swim, water got filled into the pot and the copper pot drowned. But, earthen pot reached the bank. Moral: Weakness is not in Appearance.

YouTube - World’s Largest Growing Video Platform.
Thousands of videos are uploaded on a daily basis by millions of users worldwide. The best thing about that is that it is really-really vast in terms of genres. India, also, is not untouched by Youtubing. Youtubers like Harsh Beniwal, Gaurav Chaudhary, Ashish Chanchlani and Amit Bhadana have achieved great success on the YouTube platform. YouTube is the most appropriate way for expressing your views about something. Also, YouTube allows you to monetize your videos with Google AdSense and make money creating content. Although the numbers i.e. the subscribers, views and likes don’t always matter if you love making content. To be a content creator is a tough job and it requires a lot of creativity, focus and patience. YouTube’s recommendation system provides a versatile way to up bring your videos when someone searches for it. MCNs or Multi-Channel Networks send you invitations to join them.
Though some of them really care about improving your content in exchange for a part of money that you earn; most of them are behind your money and will do absolutely nothing to improve your content. Maxima is a well-known MCN. Some people even get episodes from the shows that have stopped broadcasting and upload them on YouTube. Some get copyright strikes, some don’t. Copyright strikes are dangerous as they may result in from demonetization of that video to even the elimination of your channel. Do not mess around with copyrights. Titles & thumbnails are the most crucial part for audience retention. Audience interaction is also an important thing to do. It makes people feel like that they are a part of your channel. After all, if you enjoy making content; you are sure to succeed on YouTube.
