A long history: Turin and the ITS

The city of Turin boasts a long history in urban traffic management

80’s80’s

90’s90’s

00’s00’s

The first Italian Urban Traffic Control pilot and the first Italian Automatic Vehicle Monitoring (AVM) system were developed in Turin

The innovation process continued with the launch of the 5T project, still representing one of the most notable initiatives in the ITS on a national level

In July 2000 the municipality of Turin decided to create a company named 5T s.c.r.l., in charge of designing, developing, managing, maintaining and promoting the Turin integrated ITS system, its applications and further extensions
