From the Administrator’s Desk “Oh, it's a long, long while from May to December but the days grow short when you reach September.” Do you remember that song? September Song has been performed and recorded numerous times by many different artists since the 1940’s. Bing Crosby recorded the song twice, in 1943 and again in 1977 one month before his death. Summer season officially comes to a close this month. It has been a hot Summer, but cooler days will be here soon with the start of Fall. Before you know it, the holidays will be upon us. But, let’s not rush things and enjoy what is in store for us during September. We had a small hiccup at the beginning of the month with the isolation time in our rooms. It’s difficult when this happens, but it is in our best interest and for our protection. We had a slow beginning to the month but I’m looking forward to finishing the month strong! The week of September 12th –18th is National Assisted Living Week. ® NALW was established in 1995 by the Na- tional Center for Assisted Living to provide a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers, and the surrounding community to celebrate residents and the services provided by the staff within as- sisted living communities. “Compassion, Community Caring” is this year's theme for National Assisted Living Week. We have several guest entertainers planned for you to enjoy. One of my favorite authors, Daphne Simpkins, will be with us on Thursday September 30th at 2:00 p.m. You will not want to miss her presentation. It will be an extremely entertaining talk on Irving Berlin and his music. Another favorite will be performing on Wednesday, September 22nd. Mr. Leonard Houston will be entertaining us with his amazing Saxophone in the Life Enrichment Center. Mr. Houston has been here before and quickly became a favorite and some of you asked to schedule him again. Wesley Gardens is a community where I am confident, families love to visit and stay connected. Thanks again for all your support. Wesley Gardens is a home Where Life is Celebrated….. And the touch of God’s love is ever- present and ageless. It’s going to be a great month. Come join in the fun-filled activities that have been planned es- pecially for you.
