In today’s video I want to help you answer the question of why you’re not making any money as an af f iliate marketer. Let’s get right to it. The f irst place (and most important) you should look is your targeting. Are you targeting a market or a niche? There’s a massive dif f erence between the two of them. A market is very general with lots of people. For example dog care, weight loss, internet marketing. All three of these are general markets and if you just try to jump in and make money with a plan; you’re going to be absolutely eaten alive. What you have to do is you have to identif y a small niche within that large market. This is done by good ol’ f ashioned market research. A niche is a small subset of that market, a small group of people that have a specif ic and common problem within the larger market. For example let’s look at the dog training market. Dog training is a market but a niche would be something like “how to train German shepherds” or even better “how to train aggressive German shepherd puppies.” Now the point of all of this is that the more targeted problem or the more “niche”, the greater chance you have of not only building your own authority but also f inding an under-served part of that market that you can sell your product with relatively low competition but still at a prof itable margin. Let me give you a f ew more examples. You wouldn’t want to just target internet marketing, that’s f ar too general and it can mean way too many things. You’d be much better f ocusing on just say traf f ic generation, “how to get traf f ic f rom Pinterest” or “how to get traf f ic f rom Pinterest using only inf ographics.” That would be even more targeted. The point again is that you have a much greater chance of not only f inding a group of people that are under- served but building your own authority. Just to quickly review, there’s a huge dif f erence between a market and a niche. A market’s very general and although it can give you some great ideas, you don’t want to necessarily create a product or marketing campaign geared towards a general market. You want to target on a niche which is a small subset of that market that has a very specif ic problem that you can help address.

The first place (and most important) you should look is your targeting. Are you targeting a market or a niche? There’s a massive difference between the two of them. A market is very general with lots of people. For example dog care, weight loss, internet marketing. All three of these are general markets and if you just try to jump in and make money with a plan; you’re going to be absolutely eaten alive. What you have to do is you have to identify a small niche within that large market. This is done by good ol’ fashioned market research. A niche is a small subset of that market, a small group of people that have a specific and common problem within the larger market. For example let’s look at the dog training market.

In today’s video I want to help you answer the question of why you’re not making anymoney as an af f iliate marketer. Let’s get right to it.

The f irst place (and most important) you should look is your targeting. Are you targeting a market or a niche? There’s a massive dif f erence between the two of them.

A market is very general with lots of people. For example dog care, weight loss, internet marketing.

All three of these are general markets and if you just try tojump in and make money with a plan; you’re going to beabsolutely eaten alive. What you have to do is you have toidentif y a small niche within that large market. This is done bygood ol’ f ashioned market research.

A niche is a small subset of that market, a small group ofpeople that have a specif ic and common problem within thelarger market. For example let’s look at the dog trainingmarket.

Dog training is a market but a niche would be something like“how to train German shepherds” or even better “how to trainaggressive German shepherd puppies.”

Now the point of all of this is that the more targeted problemor the more “niche”, the greater chance you have of not onlybuilding your own authority but also f inding an under-servedpart of that market that you can sell your product withrelatively low competit ion but still at a prof itable margin.

Let me give you a f ew more examples. You wouldn’t want to just target internet marketing, that’s f ar toogeneral and it can mean way too many things. You’d be much better f ocusing on just say traf f ic generation,“how to get traf f ic f rom Pinterest” or “how to get traf f ic f rom Pinterest using only inf ographics.” That would beeven more targeted.

The point again is that you have a much greater chance of not only f inding a group of people that are under-served but building your own authority.

Just to quickly review, there’s a huge dif f erence between a market and a niche. A market’s very general andalthough it can give you some great ideas, you don’t want to necessarily create a product or marketingcampaign geared towards a general market. You want to target on a niche which is a small subset of thatmarket that has a very specif ic problem that you can help address.
