Grand Knight’s Message GK Tony Friesenhahn

I want to start by saying thank you to all the good folks that offered prayers, cards, food, and messages for my wife after her recent knee replacement surgery. She is doing well and getting better every day. I also want to thank the Bert West Family for decorating the hall for Christmas, and thanks to everyone that helped with the Christmas Party. And of course, thank you Mr. and Mrs. Claus for your joyful visit. A special thank you to Jack and Stephanie Ragsdale, and all who helped them with a terrific Children’s Play. And a big thank you to the good Brothers that set up the Nativity scene, as usual, it looks great, and it is a good reminder for all of us that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

As I look back at 2018 I have so much to be thankful for, as God has blessed me abundantly, and I just want to thank everyone for all the support and encouragement you have given me. I am especially thankful for all the good members that continue to step up and do so many good things for our Council, our Church, and our Community. I am especially thankful for the new members that answer the call when help is needed. You are an inspiration for all of us.

I hope you all had a merry and joyful Christmas, and I wish you a happy, prosperous, and healthy New Year.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! The Christmas Party was well attended and I believe most had a very good time!

Dues payment checks and money orders should be made payable to "KofC Council 4183" and contain "2019 Dues" in the memo line. Dues are $40 for Regular members and $10 for Honorary members. Council Christmas Party

The Council 4183 Christmas Party was held December 2nd in Columbus Club Hall. All present enjoyed the Christmas fellowship, the children's nativity pageant, a delicious traditional turkey dinner prepared by Neighborhood Gourmet, and a truly memorable visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. A great evening all around! As the photos below attest, some kids NEVER grow up!

  • Christmas Food Baskets

The weekend before Christmas, Council 4183 distributed food baskets to 100 needy families in the New Braunfels community. Council members, scouts, and their families gathered on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning to box-up and distribute about 70 pounds of food per "basket." While the activity is best described as "organized chaos," a great time was had by all in charitable service to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. We hope to have some pictures to share in the February Knight Light.

Salvation Army Kettle Drive Ten brothers from Council 4183 participated in the New Braunfels Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive this year. They rang the bell at the Walgreens location at N. Bus 35 and Loop 337 on Friday, December 7th, from 9 AM until 7 PM. Mother Nature did her best to discourage our brothers with a cold and rainy day, but they were undaunted. This effort may expand next year.

Knight with the Seminarians Council 4183 will hold its 11th Annual Knight with the Seminarians on February 23, 2019. Tickets are now on sale for $30 each, $300 for a table. This year's theme, "A Knight in Krakow," celebrates Poland's contribution to the priesthood and its longstanding Catholic heritage. This event is a fundraiser to support the seminary formation programs within the Archdiocese of San Antonio. We have confirmed the rumor that Fr. Kris, our Worthy Chaplain, is personally supervising the preparation of 1,000 authentic Polish Perogies to be served as appetizers. For ticket information, contact Brother Michael Molidor at (210) 383-4610 or (512) 420-7545.
