Mr. Dana ReedOne great school, one great man, so many memories.

Throughout the halls, for many years, his voice was heard teaching. He gave his all to every student and affected countless lives...

- Courtney Masker

His presence will never leave and all will remember his wisdom.

Forever a Western Wayne Wildcat!

Time I remember how I feel when I’m still. The seconds are all passing me right by.One minute I could possibly feel ill, Another time I’m feeling sky high.

And although I cannot seem to take inThe ever-passing hours, I know thatI will be fine as I have always been. Maybe I’ll even be a diplomat.

No matter how you put it, or you choose,The time that you spend on Earth is all yours. You must remember there’s nothing to lose. It is wise to care for everyday chores.

It has taken me time for me to learn: If you play with fire, know it will burn. -Jason Sobotka

There are many great people even if you are shortA lot of people play this sport that are not tall

Basketball is a great way for you to stay fitNBA players never get tired of it.

A Loving ConnectionA girl and her steer share a special bond This special bond is one like no otherA look of trust is one that goes beyondFrom a steer fuzzy and black in color

One can hear him moo from a mile awayCalling for his daily servings of feedHe knows he will get it without delay This is needed to live up to his breed

Even though he stands on four legs, he deservesThe best of the best and only the best. Cherished memories are kept as reservesHe is one of love, which passes the test

A steer like him should get proper respect With that in mind this should be kept in check-Myranda Strada

2014“I cannot wait to graduate” we would say.

We thought it would never come, but the fun made time

fly.

I look and see all those I have learned to love each day.

Thinking what we achieved by walking on that stage,

my

Family screams my name with great joy but with a sigh

Shaking his hand, I grab my ticket to what is next.

I say I am not sad but I know it is a lie.

Embracing my best friends as I hold them to my chest.

I feel the tears on my face as my heart turns perplex.

The memories we have made will be with me always.

Leaving for the last time, now.

-Kelsey Russo

Adventure in Life

The early of days when your sight is clear

With the world that is full of fair flavor

When the days go by and your sight is near

Then the days that pass are thus as bitter

The world at the earliest is softness

When the air that breeze is just as freshest

The long years that go by and then

roughness

Then the world soon gets to its ugliest

The sound made from just the world is flying

The memory of the past is thoughtful

The language of the world is just crying

The memory of the future mournful

The time that has been gained by day and past

Use it wisely because it may be your last

-Nickolas Weiss

Cowboy BootsIn leather you hold my work of hard days

The feeling I had when I saw the shine

The way you wore in many unique ways

The way you looked when I first made you mine

When we first met you had a snug embrace

You held me tight as though nothing would change

As time passed there were challenges we faced

Keeping me company out on the range

The long day sound of heels dragging on floors

The silent footsteps when times became sad

The confident stomp out of pointless doors

Knowing to run when things became too bad

At the end of the day they scuff or shine

I’ll walk in your boots would you walk in mine?-Kayla Phillips

Through Our Mirrors

Nothing more than some mirrors in your head,Blind we are to the sky when our tears rise

There’s so much to see and so much to dreadThe light of the day makes us hide through wise,

We are not to be mistaken for scaredThe wonders of the world we seek to see

For, open seas know that we are prepared. We will not falter and we will not flee

We may seem like two but we are manyWe are to your left; we are to your right.

Claimed by others and claimed by you, sadly, There is too much for even our great sight.

We do the work while you become righteous Without us you will see nothing, Darkness!

-Ashley Gay

GraduationI want to walk across the stage

And show the world my true successTo hear my name I stand backstageAnd hope I don’t trip on my dressMy legs are short and in distress

The nerves cause me to freeze there stillUntil the diploma I caressIn my hand I believe I will

The crowd will clap and cause a chillAnd I will grin from ear to ear

No longer will I stand there stillI will walk proud and I will cheer

The taste of victory is sweetThere is no feeling this can beat

-Courtney Zebrowski

This ClassI really do not like this silly classThis is the worst class that I’ve ever hadI would rather go fishing and catch bassI had no idea classes were so badAnd if it were ever my decision

I would skip school throughout the whole year I would be in my tree stand all season Waiting all year long to kill me a deerAnything would be much better than this

I cannot stand it in here any longerMaybe at once I can find myself blissI need to get out of this class cause of her I cant wait to finally hear the bell

So finally I can get out of Hell-Tanner Brooks

Mirror

Have you looked in the mirror today?

Or did it shatter at the sight of you?

You used to be sweet like a parfait

Now you have given people a shove

Closed out the ones who care and love

As you stand and breathe in open air

The world is spinning all around you

Feeling as if not one person would care

Yes we are careful because we are all aware

You are not the person we once knew

The person you have become is very unfair

Think about the good you could pursue

Do you portray the good or the bad?

So did that mirror say something glad?

-Ashlyn Hall

It’s a simple concept that we don’t know what we want

until we see it. What clothes we want to buy, what food

we want to eat, even what boy we want to date. What

you don’t know about doesn’t even have an impact on

your life. And that makes sense. Ive spent my whole

life creating a plan for myself based on what I learned

in school or from my family and friends. What I forgot

about were all of the things that hadn’t been a part of

my life. I don’t need to have a whole plan laid out. There

is a world of possibilities to be discovered and no time

to waste. So, yes, we only want things after we’ve seen

them, so take the time to see as many things as you can

– Maddie Carey And then there was a trapper, and oh boy did he look dapperhis hat was green, and his shirt madeof silk, you can tell he was highly paidhe wore green leggings, and nice shoeshe quite often stopped to muse, his hair is golden brown and his eyesdeep blue, this here man he told many lies, you could find him in a pub where hewas not shy to boast about a guy named Leethat he had beaten in a long fightover which of them he more mightbut back to his trade, he was the best around,

he tells a story of how he had once found,a rare animal that no one knew, they named it the whaling shrew, but this man was not a very moral man,he had stolen all of his equipped may he Bir-mingham.-Christian Sauter

The WrestlerThere was a wrestler calm and quickWhen he went for moves he did them very slickHe was very good on his feet, making every kid weepAfter every beating he gave kids could not sleepSome up to as long as a weekHe always gave his bestA lot more than the restTired or not he wouldn’t let his skills rotEven if the wrestling room was very hotMany tried to bring him downbut he was the biggest kid in townStrong as an oxIt was like trying to move a ton of rocksHe stood firm and steadyAlways alert and readyAt the end of the dayHe knew everything was done perfectly his way. -Austin Swoyer

The FarmerThere is a farmer down the road

His produce does it come in loadsCorn, peas, peppers, potatoes,

Pumpkins, squash, carrots, tomatoes. These are some of which he grew

Others yes, there were tooHe is strong tall fit and tan

Prosperous and respectful is this manHe knows the meaning of hard work

He always can give such a smirkA family man you could say

And of course of the religious wayHe always gives his portion to the

churchThe only thing he would drink would be

that of birchSince he was just a little boy

Those called tractors were a toyHe knew the reason to hunt and fishFor that of which he made his dish

-Alyssa Noble

What Endurance means to me

Endurances aren’t for the weak of mindIt takes nerve, passion, a fortified head,And the ability to be reclined. The opponent is not to be misreadSince even if one is worse, the unsaidMethod of a rival can win. Watch forTricks one likes to play, but you cannot dreadwhat one does. You must stay calm, I im-plore.Never waste energy for there is moreaction yet to come, never lose focus.A small mistake would cost one furthermore. As you see the end, don’t stop! Stay cloud-lessWhen your opponent takes his final stance.Outlast him, and you win the endurance. -Devon Williams

The Ginger Bread Man

A lot has been said about my hair

It has been described as bright red

Even though it’s rare, it wont scare

More than just the hair on my head

It reminds them of Ginger Bread

I’ve never been called carrot top

It is not something that I dread

Comments have never made me stop

Given the chance, I’d never swap

I look like Neil Patrick Harris

For you see I’m cream of the crop

My mom puts me on a terrace

Just because I don’t have a soul

I still play an important role

-Zachary Taylor

A New Beginning

As the doors open, my heart skips a beat. My face flushed, breath quickened, head in a whirl. But I know this is no time for retreat. For I have longed for this day since just a girl.

Father greets me to begin our short walk,Teary eyed, handing over his treasure.A bird starting over, leaving her flock. I am all grown up; he smiles with pleasure.

Everyone stands while I float down the aisle. The man I love turns around to see me,And I am deeply lost in his smile. He has my heart; that I can guarantee.

This is the most cherished day of my life,I finally become my best friend’s wife. -Billie Jean Durkin And to thee I love:

A love is like the calm after a stormHaving one is like your heart has been won. After a love is a chill ice gone warm.Ice that has not yet been touched by the sun.

The sweet sun, a sense of security.Within a true love, it must learn to trust. And to thee it will have such purityMuch more than a simple immature lust.

Be as though it is to thee, Sweet Lovie,Shall make for a beautiful you and I.A love, simple as a buzz of a beeForever and ever thee being my.

If thy heart, sweet and pure should crack and break, In the slumber, I, myself shall awake.

-Jessica Ujobai

Sometimes at night, when I look at the sky,

I start thinking of you and then ask myself, why?

Why do I love you?

I think and smile because I know the

list could run on for miles

The whisper of your voice, the warmth of your touch,

so many little things that make me love you so much

The way you support me, and know my emotions

The way that you care and show such devotion

The way your eyes shine when you look at me

Lost with you forever is where I want to be

The way that I feel when you’re by my side, a sense

of completion and overflowing pride

The dreams that I dream, they all involve you

The possibilities I see and the things we can do

How you finish the puzzle that lies in my heart,

so deep in my soul

You’re the most important part

I could go on for days, telling you how I feel

But all you must know is that my love for you is real.

-Lauren Sorenson Love’s warm embrace,It’s sweet liquor,Desire’s chase,Goes on no more. Here in your arms, Never knew warmth.Safe from all harms,Before love swarms.

Through bitter white winter,Its melt into spring.Cupid as my enchanter,My heart he did sting. You my dreamweaver,I your single muse. Our fantasy forever,Healing every bruise.

-Angelena Campisi

Captured

I feel the leaves crunch beneath my feet.I watch as they change from green to red.

The air is fresh; very calm and sweet.“Put on a coat!” my mom always said,

“The fall breeze will leave you sick in bed.”I will pick some apples in the yard.

The fallen leaves are stepped on and dead.Wood on the fire is burned and charred.

Some spicy fall jams are canned and jarred. The taste reminds me of being young,When I was so free and had no guard.

I played on the playground; jumped and swung.I tried to find new places to roam. When I think of fall, I feel at home.

-Ashlyn Anderson

As The Whitetail Run

The feeling of the outdoors is unrealA clear blue sky and the frigid fall breeze

Hearing birds and the wind it’s a great feelGetting that buck makes me weak in the

kneesNothing better than hearing all the trees

The experience of hunting is funShooting animals with plenty of ease

It sends me back when I shoot off that gunCannot wait to go hunting with my son

I hope he loves it as much as I doThe start of a new generation has just begun

Me and my kid eating beef jerky chewI hope this goes on for generations

Hunting to me is a celebration-Andrew Stine

Great Outdoors

The warm air is at ease,

While my loud engine roars,

With the cool air breeze,

The great urge to explore,

And to see the outdoors,

While I hang on their tight,

As I fight past the soars,

On this warm calming night,

With no feeling of fright,

I see tree after tree,

As the moons full of light,

It makes me feel so free,

The sensation is strong,

I could ride all night long.

-Austin Kyzer

Rain Sitting on my bed listening to the rain.Wondering if the clouds feel the same. It’s gray and cold outsideMy heart feels the same

The rain drops on my windowLook like the tears I’ve been crying

The sun will come outMaybe I’ll be betterAs the rain calms downAnd the clouds break apart

I still feel this sadness I have a pain in my heart

It wants to go away, and I’mWishing I didn’t feel This hurt!-Anonymous

Hope for a New Season

Wind whips wild over

The vast open country field

With spring soon in sight.

-Mikayla Maher

The Ocean

A Flowers Life

I can feel the warmth of the hot sunTelling me to spread my petals out

It feels like I have been through a droughtThis strange feeling makes me want to pout

Now I am pushing out my petals Pray to god I don’t become a clout

Now opening my eyes I see artWhat a beautiful place, I’ll settle

All I see is beauty around meIf only I could obtain the mettle

The buzzing of the approaching bee The world is an extraordinary place

I’m glad I’m not stuck in a boring vase -Amber Hanstein

The RapperThis man was a rapper and Tyrone was his nameUpon the microphone this rapper spit his ‘game’.He wore on his neck, chains of pure and solid gold. This rapper is rich, he owns six cars, at least I was told.Expensive clothing, shoes, and jewelry is what this man owned. He went to the gym every day; his body was extremely muscular and toned.Tyrone had many fitted caps, each of which he wore on his headIn fact, it was the reason he always showed up tardyHonestly little is known about his own personal life.I think he has no kids not even an attractive wife.Tyrone is looked up to by so much of today’s youthRole model to many, this is certainly the truth. Some think they know his story, but he is mysteriousThey call him names, his haters must be delirious He raps of his experience whilst being a young ladMostly in fact, were traumatizing and badNow you know some of Tyrone’s crazy facts!Make sure you remember not to talk any smack.-Josh Romance

There is a carpenter that works with sawsHe has many tools like cats pawsHe works night and dayAnd has not much time to play Hammers and nailsAnd heavy filled pailsHe always wears big heavy bootsYou will never see him in a suitFor safety’s sake he wears a hard hatHe works so hard he will never get fatWorking in the sun he is very tan But he wishes he could be in front of a fan Building homes and restaurants tooIt doesn’t matter if they are old or newHe is very proud of his workIt is like a big piece of artworkThe winter is coming which he does not likeHe is going to take a hike

-Sara Pudunajec

The CaptainA captain who I knew presented himself seldom,

Save when the bells on his ship rungWith impressive haste he ran drills, and navigated a folly,

But it was drink, not his work that made him jolly. With inebriation he had the hubris of a dozen knights,

Any to question his abilities he was eager to fight. His attire was flashy but it was static,

The dust made them appear as though they were stored in an attic.A double breasted captain’s coat with collar and crest,

The dust contrasted the luster of the medals he wore on his breast. He also wore ripped and tattered denims that hung over his boots.

His glance and his stance proved he was astute. But something wrong with his glance and it was not easy to mention,

He had only one eye that didn’t humble his pretention. It hardly seemed fit for a man so nice,

When he met you and when he left you, he would shake your hand twiceBut a man of the pipe his lungs were enslaved

His addictions and convictions he would bring to his grave. -Tomas Bethel

There is a ballerina who goes to CivicShe dances with elegance, anything but basic

She is thin, with muscles that can’t compareAtop her head is a perfect bun consisting of long blonde hair

Blisters and bruises cover her feetShe got the lead role and she didn’t cheat.

Always comes to class in the cleanest tightsWhen the teacher corrects her she feels quite contrite

Watching her beauty when dancing her solo roleMakes all the other dancers feel like a troll

Her future plans we do not knowShe would be a fool not to go pro

All day long she sweats and bleedsHer work is never done, she always leads

She practices and practices until she’s perfectHer turnout is most definitely straight and erect

Her dancing is like silent poetryShe is perfect which we all can plainly see

-Finn Malakin

Stumbling in with his stained and tattered clothesHe waddles to his stool, where his plumbers crack shows. The hair upon his head is thinning and uncombedPeople are blinded by the shinny headed dome.On his break from plumbing the sinkHe likes to come in for a nice cold drinkWhat he likes to drink is a diet cokeBefore making his first inappropriate joke.In his mouth not a tooth lays unharmedWhile eating chicken that has been properly parmed.Once he scarf’s his lunch, he leavesAfter a joke about the birds and the bees. The glasses on his face are as thick as can beFor without them he just cannot see.Although he is dirty he is not all that badHe always says hi to me and my dad.I guess this is proof of a good lessonThat everyone has goodness in their possession.-Brandon Lepkowski

There was a volleyball player who walked through the gym

She was so tall she touched the rim

The volleyball player could jump very high

She jumped so high she could reach the sky

With muscles that were very strong

She could never go wrong

And everyone was very fond

They were fond of the tall blocking blonde

With her skin that was so flawless and tan

She was made a subject for many cheering fans

But on and off the court, she was very smart

She used her heart in every part

Whenever she was given a test

She always would do her very best

And with big, round, blue eyes

She always caught the attention of all the guys

When she plays on the court

You can tell that volleyball is her favorite sport

-Jordan Jacques

The next fellow was a teacher, an excellent manHe will always strive for greatness, at least when he canMolding young minds is actually quite the featChanging the views of every person you meetMath was his specialty, calculating tangents and slopesTo fit in his class you mustn’t be a dope. Now for appearance, both inner and outerThe teacher could remind you of a delicate flowerSmall, frail hands that haven’t seen hard workAlmost as if the notion was berserkA slight, gentle body to match his handsAn uninformed onlooker may think “not quite a man”But look into his personality, you may be surprisedThis teacher has thoughts that could make even the strongest cryAll attributes put together, you really may seeIt’s unintelligent to make an uninformed decreeThe teacher is really an excellent fellowWhile not outwardly strong, he’s intelligent and mellow-Sam Hoch

There was once a coronerWho dealt with death on a daily scheduleComforted the grief stricken and made the dead look like new againHe had a cheery smile but a droopy expressionTo deal with death is like dealing with depressionHis face wrought with stress and lack of dreamingFor he was a true believer in never ending slumberHe was not of politics but the friendly encounterHe knew not of the standing between him and the countyBut of the friends he would meet in the everyday assemblyHe spoke at churches and nursing homes to get supportTo continue his duty as the medical examinerHe enjoyed the silence; for death is a quiet professionHe never drank or had fun, not one day off, For the dead would be calling soon enoughHe had no friends nor company For who would want to see a man who declared you deceasedHe was tall and thin and slightly hunched over from looking down on the faces of deathThe faces that haunt him for nights on endAnd one day his duties will be given awayTo someone young and new to continue his workThe coroner shall be the first step toward starting a new-Katelynn Loscig

NumberNames and jokes spotted so fast

Wondering how long it’ll lastThe anger and blast

My heart set to stoneI notice I’m all alone In a world so cold

Another statistic another story toldI refuse to be a number

I refuse to be underI’ll break the lightning and crash the thunder

Not another tree in the forestBut an exotic florist

Ill be the tourist you be the guideI’ve carried my a burden one too many times

Not another color committing crimes I refuse to be a number

I refuse to be underI’ll break the lightning and crash the thunder

I have a color I refuse to hideThe slurs and names pushed aside

I have pride that’s all mineI’ll say it twenty times

I’ll say it till the day I die-Jan Lugo

When I first walk into the giant room I take

a look around and feel like a leaf in a

forest. The second I get on the ice I

resemble a fawn taking its first steps. I’m

obviously the new kid on the block when

several people come stampeding by me

like wildebeests. As soon as I think I have

the hang of things I lose my balance and

fall to the ice like a tree falling to the forest

floor. Once I stand back up and fall down

a few more times I seem to be getting the

swing of things. Actually I’ve improved

quite a bit it’s almost like I was born on the

ice. You know this ice skating thing isn’t

half bad.

-Colton McDonald
