Our Catholic Church Laws for Fasting andAbstinence During Lent

Fasting--Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are theonly days during Lent that fasting.Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 arepermitted one full meal and two lesser meals perday. The two lesser meals should not equal onefull meal. No eating between meals.Abstinance—Ash Wednesday and Fridaysduring Lent are days of abstinance. Catholics whoare 14 years or older should abstain from meatentirely. Soups and gravies made from meat arepermitted.
