THE LAST HUMAN

OUTER SPACE.

(BY A CAMERA SLIDING IN SLOWLY...)

Some zone with some shining stars.

A small white point appears in the middle, bursting into

successive lightnings.

A small ship, like a ghostly spectre, starts to materialize

right in the middle.

Cease the lightnings.

Completely materialized, the ship is floating in front of

the camera.

Inside, ANDRES, in the second half of his twenties, presses

a switch.

Then he looks at the front window, seeing earth, outside,

floating in the empty space.

Andres smiles.

-We did- he says.

Smiles even more and bends the head, seeing to ALICIA, in

the beginning of her thirties, lying on his lap, apparently

sleeping.

ANDRES(to Alicia, smiling)

Did you hear, Alicia? We did.

CLOSE ON Alicia, sleeping.

Andres tries to wake her up.

-Alicia. Ali.

But Alicia does not wake up.

Andres makes a movement to pull out his hand from

under Alicias body.

A gesture in his face, indicates he feels something.

Puting his hand at his reach, sees blood in it.

Astonished, Andres looks at alicia.

Several soldiers and a captain, all them members of the air

force, are seeking for Andres and Alicia in a hangar.

CAPTAIN

Lieutenent Sypearl. Alicia. Dont be zilly and back out ofthis folly attitude. Get out of where ever you are and let

us to make charge of the situation. If you do, I will

help you to resolve your problem. You know I have the

authority to do it. But I can only help you if you help me.

I am waiting for your good decision.

ANDRES

(bending over, eyesight down)

I think you should hear him, Alicia.

Alicia, bending over next to Andres, looks at him.

ALICIA

(in low voice)

Andres. Were in this togethers. Im helping you not only

because I believe in you, but because Im in loved of

you.

Both Andres an Alicia pushed by a mutual thought, they kiss

CAPTAIN (OFF)

Im still waiting, lieutenent.

Andres and Alicia end the kiss.

Streching his neck, Andres looks above the box wich he is

refugee.

He assents.

ANDRES

Lets do it.

Andres and Alicia get out of the refugee.

The caiptain sees them.

CAPTAIN

You both stop! Lieutenent!

(to his men)Shoot them!

Obeying the order, the soldiers, start to shoot from

different places of the hangar.

(BY A CAMERA MOVING SIDEWAYS)

ANDRES AND ALICIA

running, both of them taken of the hands.

Several gun shots pass around of them.

Some shots knock into different elements around.

Andres sees his ship.

ANDRES

There it is.

Andres and Alicia reach the ship.

Making aside, Andres lets Alicia rise the stairs first.

A BULLET

crossing the air.

Alicia, rising the stairs, screams.

But she does not fall because Andres holds her.

CAPTAIN

(going furious toward the ship)

Get them now!

DIFFERENT SOLDIERS

running toward the ship.

Andres, after Alicia, gets in the ship, dissapearing

inside.

The stairs close down.

The soldiers reach the ship.

They surrounded it and shoot to it.

DIFFERENT SHOTS

knocking into the ships structure.

Making a noise, the ship dissapears under successive

lightnings and a blinding white light.

IN THE SHIP'S CABIN...

Andres, comes out of his remembers.

Given realized about what has happened to Alicia, looks at

her, sad.

He hugs her and starts to cry.

Calming down himself, he leans in the seat.

Tears fall from his eyes.

ANDRES

(to the computer)

Nodors?

NODORS

yes, Andres?

ANDRES

Do you know what has happened?

NODORS

(after a moment)

I do. Im sorry, Andres.

Andres assents.

-Thanks- he says.

Looks at Alicia.

ANDRES

(to Nodors)

Lets go home, Nodors.

But Nodors does not carry through the order.

Close on of Andres, change his eyes to the computer.

ANDRES

Nodors?

NODORSYes, Andres?

-You may proceed. Come on.

But Nodors does not proceed. There is something to say.

He starts to explain why.

NODORS

After we got here, the radio starts to receive different

transmisions. All them indicates the same.

(pause)

They... they say... there all dead, Andres. All the humansof this time... are dead.

The REIDAGS have executed exactly their plans. Now earth

belongs to them.

(pause)

Im sorry

ANDRES

looking at the nowhere.

But then he looks at earth through the front window.

ANDRES

So... this means... means...

Nodors completes Andres phrase.

NODORS

It means you are THE LAST HUMAN, Andres.

Close on of Andres, absorving the notice.

Looks down, studying the instruments.

-And even -starts to say- Im on board of a time ship there

is nothing to do to change nothing

ANDRES

(looking at Alicia)

Not even the dead of my love.

(Looking the instruments, angrily)

Because there isnt any damn power to do nothing!

Tries to swallow his anger.

ANDRES

Damn. And damn again.

Stays, thinking.

Slowly, something, comes to his mind.

Looks at Alicia.

Assents.

ANDRES

Nodors?

NODORS

Yes, Andres?

ANDRES

Is there enough power to try the ships auto destruction?

NODORS

(after a moment)

Yes.

Andres assents.

ANDRES

Do it, please.

NODORS

Roger. Programming the auto destruction for thirty minutes

from ...now.

Looking at Alicia, Andres assents.

In loud voice, Nodors counts the last ten seconds.

Andres hugs Alicia.

The ship burst, lighting all that space zone.
