JOIN US.

To achieve the goals of Edge 5, we have embarked on an aggressive, five-year program to invest $12 million in five key pillars: Regional Competitiveness & Cooperation; Marketing & Public Relations, New Business Attraction & Job Creation; Existing Industry Support, Innovation & Entrepreneurship; Talent Attraction & Development; and Quality of Place & Sustainability. The result of this investment will be the creation of a minimum of 100,000 jobs in the region with more than 65,000 of these in Wake County with an associated annual income of over $5 billion.

We have agreed to serve as joint chairs of the Edge 5 campaign and our organizations are investing in the five-year Edge program.

We ask you to join us. Raleigh, Wake County and the region have enjoyed tremendous success over the past 20 years. Our investment will ensure success for the next twenty!

Thank you for your partnership.

Our warmest personal regards,

Raleigh, Wake County and the Triangle Region are known for collaborating effectively to bring about tangible results for our communities. Effective collaboration does not happen by accident. It is intentional and requires the dedication of business, government and civic leaders like you. Since its establishment in 1995, The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Competitive Edge initiative has spearheaded economic development for Raleigh, Wake County and the Research Triangle. Edge has generated significant returns and impact for the region, including:

n 168,500 or 58% increase in new jobs in Wake County between 1995 – 2012

n 290,000 or 42% increase in new jobs in the region between 1995 – 2012

n Passage of four school bonds totaling $3 billion for school construction

n Recruitment of the Carolina Hurricanes in 1997

n Expanded construction of 540, expansion of I-440 and other transportation and transit initiatives

The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, through its five-year program Edge 5 – The Leading Edge, is a catalyst for our efforts and approach to economic development, talent recruitment and maintaining our quality of life. This long-standing and highly effective public-private partnership is built on a solid foundation of teamwork among key leaders in business, government, higher education and regional organizations.
