2 Using a Circle Pad Pro
If the Circle Pad Pro is not used forfive minutes, it will enter standbymode. To end standby mode, pressthe ZL/ZR Button.
You can connect the Nintendo 3DSCircle Pad Pro (sold separately) byadjusting the Circle Pad Pro settingto USE on the first page of theOptions menu (p. 4).
♦ For detailed information on setupand use of the Circle Pad Pro,please refer to the OperationsManual of the accessory.
♦ Calibration of the Nintendo 3DSsystem's Circle Pad can be carriedout in the System Settings. Pleaserefer to the Operations Manual fordetails.
2. Follow the on-screen instructionsto calibrate the Right Circle Pad.
1. First go to the OPTIONS screen,and then select CALIBRATECIRCLE PAD PRO.
● Calibration
If the Right Circle Pad is notresponding correctly, or it is sendingsignals to the software without beingtouched, follow the instructionsbelow to calibrate the accessory.

3 About the Game
THE LEGEND OFZELDA™:MAJORA'S MASK3D is an action-adventure gameset several monthsafter the events ofTHE LEGEND OF ZELDA™:OCARINA OF TIME, in which wefind our hero Link on a quest tofind a lost friend. This quest bringshim to the strange world ofTermina, where it is said that, inthree days' time, the moon willcome crashing down to the ground.Thus begins a new adventure!
4 Getting Started
Choose a file to load, then selectSTART to begin the game.
Loading a Saved Game
Once you have chosen a file toload, select OPTIONS to adjust thegame options. You can also accessthe Options menu during gameplayvia the GEAR screen (p. 9).

Use to choose a file, then press to select it.
Select NEW GAME and enter aname for your character.
Starting a New Game
♦ If setting ADJUST VOLUME toHIGHER results in a distortion ofthe sound, then please returnthe setting to NORMAL.
5 Saving and Erasing Game Data
Stand in front ofan owl statue or aquill statue andpress in orderto save yourprogress.
Saving Data
♦ Note that returning to the dawnof the first day (p. 6) will notautomatically save your game.
Erasing Data
● Do not turn the power off, resetthe system or remove GameCards/SD Cards while saving.Make sure not to get dirt in theterminals. These actions couldresult in permanent data loss.
● Do not use external accessoriesor software to modify your savedata, as this can lead to aninability to progress or loss ofsave data. Any modification ispermanent, so be careful.
Selecting a File to Erase
Choose a file from the file selectionscreen (p. 4), and then selectERASE.
Erasing All Data
♦ Data cannot be restored oncedeleted, so please be careful.
You can delete all saved data bylaunching the software and thensimultaneously holding + + + after the Nintendo 3DS logohas disappeared but before the titlescreen is displayed.
6 Proceeding with the Game
Controlling the hero Link, you havethree days until the moon falls andmust repeat this cycle of threedays in order to progress with theadventure.
Flow of Time
Time flowscontinuouslyduring the game.When 24 hourspass, the day willend. During your adventure, youwill need to play the Song of Timeon your ocarina to return to thedawn of the first day.
♦ Time will stop duringconversations, or when you areaccessing subscreens such asthe Bombers' Notebook or ItemScreen.
♦ When you return to the dawn ofthe first day, Rupees and someof the items you have collectedwill be lost. Dungeons andevents will also revert back totheir initial status.
Investigate theSheikah Stonein the ClockTower to viewhints that willaid you in your adventure.
Don't Know How toProceed?
If your life energy (p. 9) runs outwhile in a dungeon, you will haveto restart from the entrance to thatdungeon. If it runs out while in thefield, you will have to restart fromthe entry point of that particularmap.
Game Over
If three days pass, the moon willfall and you will be returned to thedawn of the first day. Yourinventory of items and masks willrevert to whatever it containedwhen you last played the Song ofTime. You will lose any items andmasks that were obtained after thatpoint.

You can adjust perspective settingsvia the OPTIONS screen (p. 4).
Change Perspective

Press when theTatl icon appearsto talk to Tatl.She will give youvarious usefulhints to help you in your adventure.
Use Item/Put on Mask
Use items and put on masks bypressing or , or by tapping therelevant item slot (p. 9) on theTouch Screen.
Action
Press to perform varioussituation-dependent actions.
Move/Swim/Jump
Slide in any direction to move inthat direction. If you run towardsthe edge of a platform or ledge,you will automatically jump in thedirection you are running.
This software involves moving theNintendo 3DS system aroundwhile you play.Ensure that you have adequatespace around you and that youhold the system firmly in bothhands while playing. Failing to doso could result in injury and/ordamage to surrounding objects.
♦ When using a Circle Pad Pro(p. 2), you can use the RightCircle Pad to look around.
Look Around
Tapping the View/Pictograph BoxIcon (p. 9) allows you to switch tofirst-person perspective. Use ormove the system to look around.Press to return to third-personperspective.
L-Targeting
When thetargeting iconappears on anenemy, characteror object, pressand hold to lock on to it. Bytargeting an enemy you can keep itin your sights as you fight it.

This shows how much magic poweryou have left. It will deplete everytime you use certain items oractions.

♦ The magic meter is onlydisplayed once you haveprogressed past a certain pointin your adventure.

This is divided up into three days,with the current day highlighted.The clock is not displayed at anypoint when time has been stopped.

Touch this icon to play on yourocarina (or whichever instrument isrelevant to your current form). Thenumber of melodies you're able toplay will increase as you progressthrough your adventure. Tap tocheck how to play any of themelodies you've learnt.

Displays the action currentlyperformable using . This willchange depending on the situation.
Your currently-assigned items and/or masks are displayed here. Itemsin the and slots can be usedby either pressing thecorresponding button, or bytapping the item's icon on theTouch Screen. Items in the I and IIslots can only be used by tappingthe Touch Screen.
