It was great to see students parcipang and showing sportsmanship. Thank you to the staff of St Joseph’s School for organising the carnival this year. We look forward to our next sporng event together, the cross country, next term. This week, there are many extra- curricular acvies taking place for our students. Thank you to all parents involved and assisng with these extra acvies. Have a great week. Regards, Carmel Doyle Eisteddfod Congratulaons to our six choir members who parcipated in the Cowra Eisteddfod last Thursday. Our ny choir sang beaufully winning second place out of the 6 schools entered in the small choir secon. Congratulaons to Sophie Gibson, Chloe Gibson, Annabelle Peile, Shalara Jackson, Emily Cox and Louise Hailstone. Biggest Morning Tea We will be joining in with the community fundraiser for the Biggest Morning Tea again this year on Thursday 24th May. If you haven't already and your child would like a cup cake and a piece of slice, please send in $1. Food items will be provided by the community and delivered to the school. Forbes Small Schools Athlecs Carnival This carnival has been rescheduled for Friday 8th June. Please put this date on your calendar. This carnival is for all students K-6. Music Viva—Canowindra Tomorrow, the 24 th May we will be traveling to Canowindra to parcipate in the Baroque music fesval in Canowindra. Students will travel by bus during school me to aend this music workshop. Please return the permission note and money to the school office if you haven’t already. District Cross Country The following students have qualified to parcipate in Forbes this Friday 25 th May for the District Cross Country: Levi, Axxell, Adam Valenne, Hayley, Reece, Ben, Macey, Louise, Zoe, Sanjay, Thomas and Alec. A separate note was sent home last week outlining details for this event and students name tags have been sent home with students today. Parents are to arrange for their children to get to and from this event in Forbes. We wish students all the very best. CWA Public Speaking On Tuesday 22nd May, Sophie Gibson, Hannah Williams and Alyssa Gibson parcipated in the CWA Public Speaking contest at Bathurst. The girls enjoyed this enriching experience. Kim Storey Photography Workshop Next Monday 28th May, Kim Storey will conduct a photography workshop with our students. Kim is volunteering her me and skills on behalf of View Club's involvement with our school iniave CEP (Community Engagement Program). We thank Kim and know that our students will thoroughly enjoy this experience. Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. $1 per student. Thursday

2018 PRIMARY EXCURSION This years Primary Excursion is to the Snow. This will be 3 days and 2 nights, with a day on the snowfields learning to ski. This will take place in Term 3, week 10, 26th—28th September. (The last three days of Term 3) This is preliminary notice so families can start to put aside money towards the excursion.

Simultaneous Reading Day

Today our K-2 students joined students at St Joseph’s School

for Simultaneous Reading Day. Our 3-6 students joined in

Simultaneous Reading Day at 11am by reading the book

‘Hickory Dickory Dash’ at 11am.

STEM EPS has joined with other smalls schools (Bogan Gate, Bedgerebong, Caragabal and Quandiala) in a STEM initiative. At the end of this term all schools will join together for a STEM day at Quandiala Public School. We are asking families to send in recycled materials for activities that will be taking place on this day. We would like to start collecting materials now so that we will have ample amount for our students on the day. Eg Cardboard boxes, plastic bottles. Meals on Wheels A big thank you to our local Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers, Marie Noble and Tim Cheney, for allowing our students to assist with delivering of meals last term and the beginning of this term. All of our students have had a turn helping to deliver meals and have enjoyed this experience. We will have a break for the remainder of this term and look forward to helping with meal deliveries in Term 3.

REMINDER Arrival Time at School Morning Duty does not start until 8.45am.

For Health and Safety reasons, students are not to be at school until after 8.30am.

Students arriving prior to 8.45 am have no supervision and are required to remain seated on the benches

under the COLA until the morning duty teacher arrives.

GRIP Leadership Conference for Year 6. On Monday this week Miss Rinaldo took the year 6 students to the GRIP Leadership Conference in Dubbo. This was a great opportunity for students as the current school leaders to workshop leadership skills and participate in leadership focused activities. Thank you to Donna Maclean for driving some of the students to Dubbo.

Uniform Could families please check your children's school sports jackets. There has been some mix up with children taking the wrong clothing. Please check the names and if there are any mix ups please bring them to the office so we can get them back to the correct children. Reminder also to make sure all school jackets, jumpers, hats have your child's name on them.
