Thetheatrehasthreedifferentlevels.Yourseatswillbeonalevelcalledthe‘Stalls’,‘GrandCircle’or‘UpperCircle’.

SomepeopleenterthebuildingthroughtheAccessEntrancewhichisalongthesideofthetheatrebuilding,

aroundthecornerfromthemainentrance.

IfyouenterthroughtheAccessEntrance,youwillseeatoiletonyourleftanddoubledoorsleadingthroughtothe

auditoriumstraightahead.

Therearetoiletsatthetheatreonalllevels.Ifyouneedtousethetoiletthat’sfine,justaskanushertohelpyou.Thesearesignstoshowyouwherethetoiletsare.

Theinsideofthetheatrewheretheseatsareiscalledtheauditorium.Itisverybigandtherearelotsofseats.

Whenyoureachtheauditoriumanusherwilllookatyourticketsandtellyouwhereyourseatsare.Thenumbersonyourticketstellyouwherewehavetosit.Itisnotachoice.

Whenyougettoyourseatsyoucansitdownandrelax.Therewillbelotsofotherpeoplesittingnearyou

anditwillbequitenoisy.

Whenitistimefortheshowtostartyouwillhearavoiceaskingeveryonetoturnofftheirmobile

phones.Thisvoiceiscomingthroughaspeaker.Thetheatrewillgetdarkerandeveryonewillbequiet.Youwillneedtobeasquietasyoucanduringtheshowsothatyoucan

heareverything.

Whentheshowstarts,youwillhearanactorstarttosinganditisveryloud.Itwon’tbeloudforverylongso

don’tworry.

Seeingashowislikewatchingtelevision,orafilm,butthepeopleinashowareonastageandtheyarecalledactors.

TheLionKingisaspecialkindofshowcalledamusical.Theactorswilltellastorybytalking,singinganddancing.

Therearelotsofpuppetsintheshow.Sometimestheyareverylargeandsometimesquitesmall.Therewillbebeautifulgiraffes,elephants,hyenasandotheranimals.

Someactorswillhaveflyingbirdpuppets.Thepuppetwecanseehereisbeingheldbytheactor.

Herearesomeactorswearinglargepuppets.TheseactorswalkthroughtheaudienceintheStallsareatogettothestage.TherewillalsobesingersappearingintheGrand

Circlearea.

Someoftheanimalsandsingersmaycomeclosetoyou.Theanimalsarenotreal,theyarejustactorswearing

costumesandmakeup.Itisimportantthatyoustayinyourseatwhentheanimalsarewalkingtothestageandyou

can’ttouchthem.

Aftertheanimalsandactorsareallonstage,theywillsingasongcalled“CircleofLife”andstarttotellthe

storyofTheLionKing.

Youwillhavealotoffunduringtheperformance.Thereislotsofsinginganddancing.Sometimesitmightbeloudbutdon’tworry,nothingwillhurtyou.Ifthesoundsaretooloudyoucanputyourhandsoveryourears,orwearyour

headphones(ifyoubroughtsomewithyou).

Aftereachsong,somepeoplewillclap.Clappingisnicebecauseittellstheactorsyoulikedtheirsong.Ifyouwanttoclap,youcan.Youdon’thavetoclapifyoudon’twant

to.

Inthemiddleoftheshow,thereisabreak.Thisbreakiscalledaninterval.Duringtheintervalyoucanuse

thetoiletandhaveadrinkorasnack.
