 On Saturday, February 6th, our 5th & 6th Grade Girlsplayed 10 games and 5 matches at St. John's Play Day

Tournament! The Girls won the ConsolationChampionship! Way to go Lady Lions!

2016­2017 Re­enrollment packets were sent home on Friday,January 29th.  You Save $50.00 off registration when you re­enroll on or before February 26th. We will begin openenrollment for new families on March 1st.

7th Grade Carnation Sales

Send a carnation to that special friend, teacher orloved one! 7th Grade is selling carnations with cardattached for $1.00. Purchase your carnation at recessand lunch from the 7th Grade classroom, School orSAC Offices starting Thursday, February 4th.Carnations will be delivered to students classroomson Tuesday, February 16th.

  Jump Rope for Heart packets went home last week, and every daycounts to raise money for the American Heart Association. We canbe Heart Heroes together! Ask your family members, friends, andneighbors to sponsor you for this event. Jump Rope for Heart willtake place on Friday, February 12th at 10:30AM. Contact Mr.Mattes (8th Grade Teacher) at smattes@zionanaheim.org if youare interested in helping in any way.

Jamba Juice

Jamba Juice will be sold at lunchon Wednesday, February 17th for

$3.00. Orange Dream Machine, Strawberry Wild, andMango A Go Go.         

You can earn parent participation hours by taking Zion's studententries to the Orange County Youth Expo located at the OrangeCounty Fair grounds. The student entries need to be deliveredon April 7th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and picked up on April 19thfrom 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Artwork can be picked up from Zion onWednesday, April 6th.

Helping kids become leaders has many advantages. Kids thatdevelop into leaders generally have a strong sense of self­esteem.Self­esteem provides them with confidence and the drive to excel.

Leaders also develop strong communication skills. As these youngleaders accept greater and greater responsibility, they are requiredto interact with others. These interactions develop within themstronger­than average communication abilities that assist them inother aspects of their lives.

Finally, developing leaders acquire the skill of negotiation and learnhow to work with others. As these emerging leaders increase theirleadership activity they are placed into situations that requirecollaboration and compromise ­ skills that are greatly valued.
