History of the Little Golden Books Began in Racine, Wisconsin under the
Western Publishing Company, Inc. This publisher printed numerous books,
including children’s books before launching the legendary Little Golden Books
Created their own Artists and Writers Guild
The idea for Little Golden Books began in 1941
Little Golden Books Are Born
12 titles were released at one time in 1942
Each title had 42 pages; 28 in two color and 14 in four color.
Had a side staple binding Sold for 25 cents
