Ezekial 17:22-24 The Lord says this: From the top of the cedar, from the highest branch I will take a shoot and plant it myself on a very high mountain. I will plant it on the high mountain of Israel. It will sprout branches and bear fruit, and become a noble cedar. Every kind of bird will live beneath it, every winged creature rest in the shade of its branches. And every tree of the field will learn that I, the Lord, am the one who stunts tall trees and makes the low ones grow, who withers green trees and makes the withered green. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do it.Psalms91:2-3. 13-16. R./ Lord, it is good to give thanks to you. They are making a flying visit to the north simply to say gday to Vitalis. They were kindly volunteered by him to celebrate 4 Masses this weekend. Thank you. A huge vote of thanks to our St Anthonys Committee and their helpers who did all the work for our festival last weekend. We were blessed with magnificent weather, which aſter the previous 2 days of miserable conditions came as a pleasant surprise. Bishop Tim was very impressed with the whole day, especially with the obvious faith of those present and with the relaxed nature of the affair. He was keen to schedule it into his diary for next year. Hopefully, he will be able to join us at the next festival. As I write this, I have completed three out of five days of the company directors course that I am undertaking. My head is close to exploding with information and I am filling a notepad with ideas and areas to address. Most of the participants are from Centacare offices from Townsville, Cairns and Rockhampton dioceses. It has been wonderful to hear how many great things the church is doing in a variety of areas related to social well-being. Dear Ingham parishioners, your planned giving envelopes are at the entry to St Pats. Please save us the high postage costs and collect them this week or next. Over the next two weeks, the annual Bishops Appeal will take place. This is a very important appeal where funds raised directly support the various ministries within the diocese as directed by the Bishop. Envelopes are available at all Masses over the next two weeks. S t Romuald was born to a wealthy family in Ravenna,

Italy in around 951. As a young man he lived a life of indulgence, but after witnessing his father kill a relative in a duel, Romuald went to the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare and did 40 days of penance for his father. He became a monk there, but he felt that the observances were not strict enough, so he moved to Venice and lived the severe life of a hermit for 10 years. Romuald then spent the next 30

years travelling Italy, founding and reforming monasteries and hermitages, before once again withdrawing to live his remaining years as a hermit.
