RAY’S REMARKS:I hope everyone is having a great week. It has certainly been a
cold starter to this week. I’m afraid we might have a very cold winter this year.We might even get some snow! Oh well, either way we can’t change theweather so we might as well enjoy such blessings from God and make the mostof them.
We are blessed as always, as God’s family at Kansas Expressway. I amso encouraged to see some of our own feeling better and making great improve-ments in their health. Thanks be to God. Brethren we also need to be aware of those of our number who needcontinuous prayer. First let me remind you to keep sister Retha Beebe inprayer, not only for her own health, but also in the loss of her daughter, Tonya.Everything went well on Tuesday at the funeral and the family seemed to becomforted in their love for one another as well as the encouragement fromGod’s Word. This good family needs our continued petitions before God’sthrone. We also have two of our dear sisters under hospice care. Remembersister Margaret Jones and sister Mae Stubbs. These good servants of God arenearing the end of their life on this earth and seem to be prepared to meet theirGod for their Heavenly reward. However, let’s remember these familes at thistime as they deal with this trial. Brothers and Sisters, let’s all do our best to be aware of those in need ofprayer and ever keep them before God’s throne. I know we are a people ofprayer who believe in its power, so let’s keep those on our prayer list before agracious, merciful and loving God! I heard that the first graduation in Zambia went really well and that thingsare going well for Dad there. Please continue to remember him in your prayersas he goes to Uganda for another graduation in our preacher’s school there.Brethren, we are so blessed to be a part of so many good works around theworld. I am thankful to God for the opportunities we have to serve Him in Africa. Well, as we head toward the Thanksgiving Holiday in just a few weeks Ihope we are all taking some time to consider just how blessed we are in this life.We all have so much of this world’s goods and have so much to be thankful for.I hope we will show God the glory in all things and ever be a thankful peoplebefore his throne. How thankful are you for all of God’s blessings. I hope everyone has a good remainder of the week and weekend as wehead toward the Lord’s Day. Let’s all prepare to give God our very best and bepresent to worship Him in spirit and truth this Sunday. See you there! May Godbless us all as we strive to put Him first in all things.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Millions of tracts have been distributed in hospitals, restau-rants, etc., with some version of "the sinner's prayer." Thereare many differing versions, since this "prayer" is man-madeand is not to be found in the Bible. The Bible makes it very clearthat prayer is the privilege of Christians, not alien sinners(Matthew 6:9, I Peter 3:12). God has no children out of Hisfamily, who can rightfully call him Father. One must be "inChrist" to be called a son or daughter of God. To be in Christmeans to be in His church or body (II Corinthians 6:17-18,Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18). All must enter into Christin the same way, by faith, repentance, confession, and baptism,but not prayer (John 8:24, Luke 13:3, Matthew 10:32-33, Mark15:15-16). The first thing a sinner needs to do is not pray, butobey (Hebrews 5:8-9). Yet, there are some religious folks whodo not enforce God's desires for all men to be saved in Hisappointed way (I Timothy 2:4). It gives the lost a false securityto think they are saved by merely saying,
"
."
Peter, by the Holy Spirit's guidance, told lost souls on Pente-cost to obey, rather than pray (Acts 2:38). What Peter saidthen and what men say today does not match. Peter is right, menare wrong. Upon the command to "repent and be baptized" fortheir salvation, the Bible says they that "gladly received theword were baptized" and the Lord added them to the church(Acts 2:41, Acts 2:47). They then continued steadfastly inprayer (Acts 2:42). The Bible says: God hears not sinners (John9:31), He is far from the wicked (Proverbs 15:9), the sinnersprayer is an abomination (Proverbs 28:9), and that the face ofthe Lord is against evil doers (Psalms 34:16, I Peter 3:12). Wehope that these thoughts will encourage men to come intoChrist, His church, where they may have the blessing of prayer.
