PROLOGUE:When love and hope bring good choice for us

And dilemma of the past force us to decide contradictory thingWe choose, especially when you live as long as we wantBring the bitter reality and you are suppose to forget it

I was wake up of my penthouse desk, I was taking breath and looking at the sky. I knew what I would do was right, the most important thing in my life and the choice I made this time to come true when I was down and up and appeared in an international conference which was covered by many paparazis. We ended the confrence at late night we shattered from crowd when arrive infront penthouse, I took off my every thing I wore except my gown. I stare living room with heavy eyed in the dark then I saw my bed room light was turned on and wind blow out from there, I panicked without think.

I starring at opened window and an book drop under the desk, what I think I have intruder but I can really feel nobody here , I closed the window and flipped that book twice, started nostalgic about mom at house cooking for me and my brother, until my mind get back to its place causes I knock down, “ I want to know how it’s going, she was “ Emily talking to herself during grab a cup of coffee she feel excited about the book, she really don’t know how ? .

I always remember when I wasn’t wanted every times touch the book. I almost forget about her causes I feel Didn’t mind her always work entire time as if she vanished, until I accidentally found her diary, the cover colored green with marked by something unusual symbol when I wiped off the dust from all part of book the title finally appeared, tree of Lockhart by Kaylin Salvalore, the book looks like a novel or maybe dictionary when first time. I found her book I do some research on web anything about mom and book, I searching using Google search engine when it done to loading I found something Suspicious I never seen it were lured me to many article about existence of Angel in human living been, some article write by professor from Stanford whose told about descendant of angel for a while I glance at the book on my hand with my computer on my desk.

I grab my mouse drag it to up and down click every single article but I realize everything I does is useless not one of article want to opened it until I give up and changing my gown to pajamas and goes to sleep, I laid my self on softest bed and pillow. I My life as a famous singer and vampire has my routine and hope from the lives of my surrounding people and those who was my fans, besides a life give to me every year, also the source of money for Rachel, my manager. when I always think live as normal human, I saw that everything outside the building was amazing.

When I turned around, the elevator door opened and someone who just came out was my Manager, she was wearing black blouse and glasses and earphones in her ears. “ It’s about

time Emily,” without a word I came back to the room. I passed the iron gate and walked through paparazi crowd and the fans. Hours have passed by, the whole room covered by unstoppable questions , until it was end , my manager, Rachel who I consider as my own sister since she helped to care taker by my mother order, eventhough she helped a lot and I often told many things to her, if I was sad, she was there beside relieving me with her stories and funny jokes.

But, one things I never told her and one things was she never told me, first, I am a vampire and my mom knew it. Second, she tell my mom was travel around the world, I do not know what kind job she does. I think, not a little thing she was suspicious about me who had been living with the same body every year, or she didn’t care about my age or how long I live. And she secretly thought that forever and always, and she said I’ll be your manager.

When everything ran exactly as the plan, Rachel came to me with a suitcase and a car key, I though she would get rid of me for making mistake, “take it, I know your Mom told me to take care of myself, but I think you deserve to have holiday without my surveilence, go.”hearing that, I felt happy and directly hugged her and left LA. Last time Rachel help me leave New hampshire now I decide go to Toronto I heard there would be nice place to make song.

“Everywhere you go, if you need a map, it’s behind the wheel seat,” “I owe many thanks”. The woman turned around and left me. I walked to the empty parking lot and when I pushed the key, I saw the Ferrari turned “when did the woman make me impressed.”

Rachel walked to her room and locked the door, then sat on a table and starred at the window, “As what you have thought, Helena Lockhart, one day, your daughter’s fate will become reality.” Rachel walked away from the window as if she wanted to observe if someone is listening from the back door, her body began to be covered by sweat as if she came out of the oven, “I think tomorrow I will tell someone to put the air conditioning,” that woman left the room with smile and bitting the apple on the table. When Rachel speechless and keep on eye on cellphone was ringed, Helena walk away from shadow and standing behind that women push over her sword to the ground with loudly make Rachel notice her in there. “yes , maybe you what you said is true , yes I hope so “.

Rachel suddenly put down her cellphone pull the chair from her place “ what make you not really sure about, Ena ? “ Helena tell what she mean with hands up Emily guitar was she brought from audiotorium room. “ now I understand what you means, she so much love music same much as she love her mother, I'll handle the matter believe me “ Helena speechless that she could do was stare at her eyes “ Ena, what make me curiousity why you wont met your daughter by yourself “Helena began to confusion and doubt to choose words, he is busy playing a silver cross necklace cheek became red, she still looks confusing although it should not be made as it was thought that Rachel. Suddenly I very excited with that “ hmm, do you had venison, dont you ? “ . he smiled and held up three baskets containing venison " please, recently this meat in the export and the newly arrived and cut at this morning, just what you want to used with the meat, we have lots of menu choices in up there, want to be grilled, or fried " I glance to menu board infront me looking ham “ I want order grilled double venison and chesse hamburger with venison chopstick “ quickly the butcher raise a fire on big toaster. “ here we go, all ready, thank for coming “. I left quickly after leave money on cashier, and continously drive. I through passes the colombus and the half ways on seventhy route to Pennsylvania.

My attention are disgusting till some boy wave his hand, he lean back to his car with hood are opened I stop near his car truck and open the window the man had white pale skin his hair has black fading color, did you need a ride man, or I would called you undead man. The Zombie staring and smile at me. Car starting set on flame “ OMG, poor Zombie what already happened to you “ I shock for long time “ excuse me young female vampire, reduce your voice “ his anger are shown up on his death lips. He crosses his hand now he glances on outside car “ just drop me at Wills St ”.

“ So do you mind if you tell me what happened to you lately “ he is turn around grab his bag under the chair “ sorry I just never ever ride this car, its first time for me “ funny thing I feel like his sister in laws “ actually, I very late realize my brake had broken so I hit to roadblock and the air bag blast into my head ” Emily suddenly feel numb right on shoulder, that like a tons a iron on my shoulder so how does it feel.

VAMPIRE AND THE KNIGHTNo matter how far you turn away from your past dilemma

I grabbed the pocket behind driving seat to get the map, I gave my hand hurriedly. My left hand held the steer wheel, in the meanwhile, my right hand ruined that pocket, and finally I found it and I immediately returned my sight to the street, and I directly turned my Ferrari steer wheel to the right, the wheel screeched and produced fire spark like a car in racing track.

I almost hit the street eventhough border fence, eventhough there was a little scratch but it could be fixed. After about twenty kilometres from that curve, I saw the hint board that said “Welcome to Ohio”. I was very happy that I arrived in the town eventhough that was just a transit for a while, at least I could take a rest for one night in a very clean old motel which was made of maple tree wood close the gas station. Since I left Los Angeles to find clue about the book

Along the journey, I was just sleeping for just about one hour and tried to prevent to have the nightmare again, when I failed to save the city and almost died, then I arrived at one city in New Hampshire, it turned into a hell since then, and after I beat Skarl, I started the journey so I didn’t have enough sleep. But I don’t know why that dream hasn’t come again for 2 days, so I took advantage of that opportunity to sleep and then I saw an empty parking lot. So, I turned to a parking lot in a motel and there was a writing “Womshire Motel”.

I entered a small room near the stairs dan filled in the form as usual. I wrote the name on the paper “Emily Lockhart”, a beautiful name my Mother gave me. I remembered the memory with her and I wanted to be like her, she had warm body and her heart beat rhymed, she is an ordinary, nice human.

But I regretted because I just bit known her, when first time I found her book I do some research anything about mom and book, I searching using Google search engine when it done to loading I found something Suspicious I never seen it were lured me to many article about

That was how I became a vampire, but unfortunately, they had died killed by Skarl, I went to an adventure and left my brother Sam Lockhart, a werewolf alone so that he was not in danger and so that he didn’t become the target of whatever creature it is out there which would attack, just me who was suffering. Moreover, Sam could survive. Of all the things happened, even if it’s not because Sam’s help, I wouldn’t be able to beat Skarl and his army. So, it’s normal if I owed him my life.

After filling in the form, I took the room key from the receptionist and took out of the things from my car baggage, then I stepped up the stairs and went through the alley. After that, I entered room number 9 and put the things on the floor near the bed, then I turned on the lamp and dropped myself on the sea blue sheeted bed and tried to close my eyes.

The next day, I woke up with rather heavy eyes, then I got out and stepped down the stairs towards the luxurious bar which was surrounded by Christmas lamps. I was wacthing that lamp with amazement , several minutes later the bartender came to me with neat clothes and then he ask the question “ you like that lamp? that lamp really beautiful”. I also replied ”yes, moreover the lamps are colorful“, after that long conversation, the bartender offered some drink and I ansewered her shortly, “just give me a cup of coffee and scrambled egg with mashed potato.”

After I finished tidying the things in my room, I left that motel and speed to my real destination that was Michigan. I went through the forest. Suddenly, a Wormdrake ran immediately in front of my car wiper , it made my car thrown. Soon before the car was crashed down the the side of the street, I jumped out with many injuries, but of course that injury was directly dissapeared because of my ability.

Some time later, when I was about to point my dagger to the wormdrake which was trying to escape quickly after hitting my car. Suddenly, a Gatekeeper jumped from trees in the forest and landed right below the Wormdrake until it was crashed and changed into dust.

After that, he came to me and asked a question “ is that your car?, if yes,I so sorry for that,hmm I would take you to a good repair shop, coincidentally, the Gatekeeper who I knew happened to work there “. Without a word, he knew that I was a vampire, I thought he was a rude man, but actually Jack was very surprisingly polite. Jack reached a hook and pulled that car into another crane car,which was hooked at the end of the street, Jack asked me to go inside the crane car, I saw jack reaching the car key in he right pocket.

Jack was turning on the crane car when I saw there was smoke on the car engine, I thought the car was in trouble, but thankfully, few time later, the car was running again and ran to a rocky road, I couldn’t wait to get to the repair shop that Jack told me about before, because this is the only car I like of thirty luxurious cars I had, during the journey, we spent time by chatting, I asked many things to Jack when he said that because the car was the only car that I like than thirty luxurious cars I had, during the trip we were spending time and chatting.

I was asked many questions about Jack as he once said that the best moment was when he became a Gatekeeper, where the best moment was when he fought in a prison in New Mexico

and he chased Bone Walker Knight who was a skull wearing a harness and helmet covered with a blue flame, in its hand he held a long spear and rode a horse whose head was covered by flame wars blue and left footprints on fire with the same fire that was in its head.  At that time, they were chasing each other along the desert and after Jack jumped over the big hill that was in front, the skull suddenly hurled it, Jack was spinning in the air and turned the spear and the spear destroyed the Knight Bone Walker to prison that are below were destroyed . Then he laughed because he saw the face of a prison warden scared and confused because the prison roof suddenly shattered by itself but I think it's a bad joke that's not even funny at all . Ah, of course, the man could not see that we’re the descendants of the devil because we are in a different dimension or world like having two different places at the same place . It was night so I tried to close the dead for a moment to lean my head seat and hope that the nightmare does not come to this evening . After passing through the forest we saw a sign saying " welcome to Michigan " , I finally managed to get in the place that I wanted all along , then Jack swung his car left the road piece of mud, I hope Jack does not contaminate my favorite car and then he stopped at an old buildings and opened the door and I let go of the steering wheel of my car the hook .

Then I saw a woman coming out of the building we approached . I remembered the words of Jack yesterday, so I realized that she was Gatekeeper that he had told no doubt, "Hi, I’m Emily Lockhart , you must be the Gatekeeper Jack once told me " I hope he will reply imaginary greeting me well , but it was not the same once was even asked back, squinting his face " told ?, what do you mean by told? And what do you say to her spoiled Jack? "

" Well, I Just told her that you like angry old lady and can only nag" without a word he immediately pinched his cheek, I had attempted to stop it but they still continue to fight and I had to try again the woman suddenly insult again" heard the spoiled girl, I do not care who you are meddling but we do "hear it outloud , I was annoyed and replied to chatter loudly " hey, hear an old woman, I do not care about your business but stop calling me a spoiled girl, I’m twenty years old, understand!" . She heard it and finally stopped . After hearing it, I knew he was a polite man, I answered " yes , as you see my car was destroyed by Wormdrake and Jack helped bring it to tow it when Jack finished killing the Wormdrake" , "I didn’t think he was a good person too, I think he is one who is always rude to others . " Devlina said , After a long conversation Jack had just returned from a pastry shop near the garage after a fight with shop keeper . Devlina finally brought the car into the garage and fix it immediately . Meanwhile Jack took bowl into two-story building house located at the end of the road there , a few moments after entering the house, I sat on a small table in the corner of the stairs and Jack poured a glass of hot tea. The tea was very fragrant like camomile, and he handed me a plate of sandwiches she bought in the store with a little extra. Then Jack added a slice of bacon, two slices of cheese and mayonnaise on the sidelines add a little cheese, then with a little hesitation he confirmed the doubts . Because so far no one had ever wanted to try a homemade sandwich .

The sandwich tasted like a sweet caramel with a little meat . After that I pushed myself out of the kitchen and into the left seat of a 16th century - style room wall colored painted brown and orange stripe that extends with a picture of a painting large abstract made by Picasso or

Then I saw bookshelves lined , there was a book that caught my eye, a purple hardback diary belonged to someone I didn’t not know unfortunately because of the writing on the cover of the book was really not visible because it was covered with dust, and Jack held my hand tightly and immediately dragged my hand and took me to leave this room, because I started to sneeze. Then Jack was standing right in front of an old bookcase and pulled out a book called, "there’s a Room inside the book " , bound in black with gold colored bold , then press the book down .

I think if there was a book titled weird like that is a mean joke, and also I thought it was just a joke someone but it did not. A moment later the bookcase slid open and there was a dark room and Jack pulled me back like a sack of garbage who was very heavy . Slowly I slammed my hand in order to escape from Jack’s grip " I thought I could walk by myself ..... " . Jack staring blankly then replied " then why are you not going the right way, I think your feet are sore."

I thought I hear Jack grunted involuntarily and I walk like a patient who had fractures. He immediately told me that he saw the look on my face, " maybe earlier, you inhaled devil dust without knowing it , sometimes several books you touch had a very powerful rune often covered in devil dust. The dust can indeed make you paralyzed without you knowing it , the dust is made for a person away from the book . I drink that groosy venom.

Now I can move my body freely, “ I do not know different between witch with wizard " said Jack, it was buried in my mind . We were already down the street and we turn right down the hallway , then my curiosity started to explode, I asked again " well, I almost forgot I really dont know you very well, I mean like where you come from, or about yourself " . Jack confirmed last question " it’s ok, I come from chicago, I live in Toronto " my mind went blank as if my mind out of my body . " tell me about your mom " .

After that distracted the view right in front of a gate with ornate gold emblem shaped similar to that of Gatekeeper . which is guarded by four middle-aged men whose height is almost close to Devlina . And suddenly two people waiting we came close to one of the blonde woman the same age is dark yellow with Sam , and another of a woman with long hair in keyr brown and covered with a black hood and a similar age to me he has the eye same with me and see the look in her eyes I 'm sure he was a vampire and I'm sure one of them is also the Gatekeeper .

" Hi, how are you Jack who she was " the blonde woman said , Jack replied with a smile " hi , nice to meet you too Faylin and Devlina what you doing here " ."We here for only visited the city , while keeping it safe city " Devlina said , clapping his shoulders , then looked at me and then he came up Devlina quickly and with face showing attraction to me as if my face like a painting After the Hunt, I know it's not attraction but the painting shows a good painting . Then without realizing it had been ten inches in front of me " never expected to meet other vampires Just thought I himself and residents of the city , My name Devlina Sandler Devlina you can call me " she happily show face , she never seen other vampire was joined , at least I think it is but at least I felt a joy that is not ever I got . I have his answer soon before he minded not not " hi nice to meet you too , I Emily lockhart ... " a few moments later and Devlina left Faylin maze without saying anything .

Gates began to open a bright light blinding dead out of the shadows , while passing through the gate I protested to Jack “ I feel irritated over their treatment when I finished talking " , " not been fair when they know your name they stop talking " Jack said with a slight laughed " no reasonable from an attitude like that “ I grumbled , slamming both hands to her waist . “ Why they act like that, I though they are totally nice ”. Jack rubbed her shoulder while she accidentally slip her tongue to her teeth, “ don’t be upset, the truth is I really don’t have any idea about that ”

THE WALL OF CAPITAL CITYWhen you went from the past, new thing will always come

Her encounter with a man named Jack brought a meaning and attraction for Emily

An old man, but not older than my mom. That guy had thin moustache and he was wearing dark green with a little torn on his right side shirt, but already stitched. The man also wore a white apron that was dull, and the man with black hair and bright skin color when I saw his skin color, it's just not tattooed .The old man wiped down and cleaned the cup, he just washed, then we approached him and he began to pour a glass of Skotch give to Jack as if the old man knew what he wanted, because Jack might come here often but apparently I was wrong he even knew what I liked, he looks like reading my mind. The mind of the man turned and rearranged drawers and the other one, a few minutes later he picked up a lemon and green beans that had been pierced with a toothpick and then put a glass and a plate of pretzels at the tavern where I was, then pour a martini and add a little nectar.

This guy was really beyond expectations to make me able to say awesome, I understand why Jack took me to this tavern. An old tavern that was made entirely of mahogany wood with a signpost in the dark blue paint that read " Fleshmir bar ", I began to understand that the word meant Flesh mirkane i.e other than the name of the old man that the word Flesh is a play on

the word that meant fast Flash or more full service immediately without thinking . Moments waiting lunch,finally came a Pizza with mushrooms and a spicy tuna mayonaise large .

I also began releasing I was wearing black gloves and a black hooded jacket worn as Gatekeepers since I first came here and first joined Jack, Devlina and others . But his affection Gatekeepers who was so far were only Devlina , Faylin , Devlina , including Jack, while there were still some out there but Frosc does not count. I had a bite and swallow little by little, I ate Pizza, thinking many things . I did not realize that my thoughts made me sleep for three hours and then I woke up in a dimly lit room with light , when I opened it I saw Jack brushing his teeth in the toilet with door left open .

I fell asleep a little annoyed because maybe the wrong time to sleep since yesterday I have not been resting on the motel so when I fall asleep , my mind remembered something in the tavern, I had asked Jack question" how do I get here " and then Jack stammered brick replied with a mouth full of toothpaste foam , so he coughed and spit out toothpaste and gum up and smudge on mirror in front of him . And when I tried to stretch my body , in my mind I a little fun to ask " what happen with my lunch " , then Jack asked as he replied toothpaste foam cleaning up a mess " Pizza when .... " , " Do not play dumb with me, of course the tavern yesterday we ate at fleshmir " Jack smiled and answer with a funny " oh , you 've already spent because when I wake up and you do not want to wake up then I ate it all " , " what , then you owe six slices of Pizza "said Emily , with upset Jack threw the toothbrush towards Emily while protests " come on , you think what the price of a large Pizza like that " before answering Emily suddenly the sound of someone knocking on the door without thinking Emily grabbed the door handle and opened it turns out it was Devlina " hi, what are you guys doing “ last grab Emily talks to his lips " what about my car " , " car almost wrong but unfortunately it took some time to find the right parts ." Emily hear the silence ." But it is important we get rid of the demon outside emotion soon " .

Said Devlina While hitting the wall with a loud " wait ...... " Emily said , getting out of the shower jack and still no beard shaving cream to his face . And wondered " what do you mean I do not understand , the dream " ," in my dream I saw a girl ...... " Emily said , getting up from the bed " then what's the problem with that dream " Jack said as he honed his sword harvest " girl Harvest was holding a dagger and wearing a black armor , and was fighting with Frosc " said Emily before resuming talks Emily grab Jack asked " wait how do you know he is Frosc , while in fact you have not seen " Jack said with a bit of confusion .

" The woman called his name repeatedly , and of course she was getting hurt Frosc " . Devlina was surprised to hear it , Devlina in a while stopped at the door while the jack weigh hesitated and immediately sat back down next to me. Devlina suddenly her mind and my thoughts interrupted so that I fell out of bed " may be a dream that you see is a vision of the future, at least that's what I thought " .
