DAY 2: MON - 25 SEP 2017 LA CÔTE D’AMOUR & NANTES.Leave the metropolis of Paris behind, bound for the port of Le Croisic on the romantically titled, Côte d’Amour. For centuries, this pretty harbour town prospered from the export of salt and it’s a pleasure to stroll along the seafront here and admire the half-timbered buildings of the old town. Lunch is included at one of the inviting waterside restaurants before a delightful drive takes you through the briny landscapes where the delicate fleur de sel is harvested. DAY 3: TUE - 26 SEP 2017 EXPLORING NANTESThis morning explore the majestic Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, the incredible fortified palace which served as official Breton residence to the French monarchy. It now houses a

fascinating museum covering the full arc of the city’s history, from the Edict of Nantes to the colonial period, slave trade and major upheavals of the 20th century. Then enjoy a walking tour through the ancient medieval quarter of Nantes. Stroll through the character-laced lanes up to the superb Gothic Cathedral of St. Paul and St. Peter. Walk through the Isle of Feydeau and view the architectural remnants of the maritime traders’ opulent 18th century lifestyle. The day concludes with a visit to the winery Chateau La Cassemichere for an incredible tour and tasting of the region’s famed varietal, Muscadet. (BB)

DAY 4: WED - 27 SEP 2017 ANGERS, COINTREAU & CHATEAUXFollow the valley of the Loire to the moated castle at Angers, one of France’s best preserved medieval fortresses. Admire the elegant buildings and gardens of the château with a Local Expert and view the 100 metre long Apocalypse Tapestry, arguably the finest woven artwork in the world. See how he transforms them into vibrant and deliciously fresh wines, using both traditional and modern methods. Move on to the beautiful medieval town of Chinon, where serpentine streets lined with small shops, inns, and cafés lead up to the castle.
