The Lord is My Light & My Salvation

As I have considered what to share this week, I was reminded that

the battle you I face is real.

There is an enemy that is not flesh and blood that strategizes against

us. An enemy that knows our weaknesses, our sin struggles, our

physical limitations, our fears, our anger, our… you fill in the blank.

In the midst of life’s chaos hold tight to Psalm 27:13-14a: “I would

have despaired unless I had BELIEVED that I WOULD SEE the

goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”

WAIT on the LORD… verse on echoes this hope: The Lord is my LIGHT

and my SALVATION so WHY should I be AFRAID.

Let us pray for one another that we can remember this truth.

The Lord is my light and my salvation—

so why should I be afraid?

The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,

so why should I tremble?

(Psalm 27:1)

On Sunday, May 6, Covenant Bible Churches new pastor,

Joshua Stone, was ordained at Clarendon Baptist Church.

Covenant Bible Church joined in the service.

2018 Leadership Celebration The Santee Association Leadership Celebration was hosted by Alice Drive Baptist Church May 10, 5:00 to 8:00 PM. After

a brief business session, we enjoyed a fellowship dinner catered by First Step Catering. Alice Drive Praise Team lead us

in a time of worship followed by two powerful messages. Special guest speaker Stephen Splawn spoke on Real Life

Discipleship and Darryl Gaddy, Sr preached about Building Bridges of Diversity. We welcomed new pastors, Alan Glass

(Home Branch) and Joshua Stone (Covenant Bible). We also honored retiring pastor Rev. Gene Mosier. Our

celebration concluded with a message by Rev. Kevin Litchfield, Finding Your Mission Fingerprint and a pastoral blessing

over all our pastors. Approximately 100 people representing 32 of our churches attended this celebratory occasion.

The month of July we will be collecting Duffel Bags and

Bibles for Foster Children. There will be more information

in the Mission Links Newsletter from the State WMU office

in Columbia.

Prayer Request:

We are asking everyone to put our mission trip to

Cleveland OH on their prayer list and pray that God

will do great things thru us and with us while we are

there. Pray for the church planters as we work with

them that week.
