Water covers a whole lot of the earth.
Water is found naturally in 3 different forms.
Solid Liquid Gas (ice) (water vapor)
There are different bodies of water.
• Oceans• Rivers• Lakes
• Streams• Bays
• Channels• Creeks
A river is a long body of water that flows across
the land.
A stream or creek is like a little river.
A lake is a body of water with land all around it.
An ocean is a very large body of salt water.
This is a picture of what happens.
It is called the Water Cycle.
Evaporation is when the sun heats the earth’s
water and turns water into drops that go back up into
the air.
When the drops cool off, they get together and form a
cloud. This is called condensation.
When the drops get really heavy, they will fall out of the
cloud. This is called precipitation.
Let’s see how the sun, water and clouds work together.
This is what happens—over and over again!
Here’s anotherway it works!
Now you knowJust where the water will go!
