WELCOME TO THE NEW MAILBOX The Mailbox has built a reputation as one of Birmingham’s most exciting mixed-use developments. With a rich and vibrant canalside scene, it is now set to get even better.

Already a key landmark for shopping, dining and entertaining, the Mailbox is undergoing a stunning transformational refurbishment. What will emerge will be the undisputed 24-7 city destination, completely redrawing Birmingham’s retail, dining and leisure map, with a host of new and exciting brands. Shouldn’t you be among them?

A DINING EVOLUTION Birmingham has moved on from the days when its dining scene was characterised by the ‘Balti triangle’.

The city is still well known for its world-beating curries, but today enjoys a growing reputation for cosmopolitan cuisine, with more Michelin starred restaurants than any UK city outside London. 60 per cent of Birmingham’s visitors* come to experience the food and drink scene, and it’s the only UK representative in Délice, the global network of ‘Good Food’ cities.

Some of the country’s best known chefs have established restaurants in the city, with Marco Pierre White, Marcus Wareing and local boy Glynn Purnell leading the way in high quality destination dining.

THE SCREEN TO BE SEEN IN How about a trip to the fl icks? In a ground-breaking development for the new Mailbox, Everyman Cinemas is opening a premium three-screen venue offering the ultimate in cinema entertainment.

As the country’s most innovative and pioneering cinema brand, Everyman boasts the latest digital projection, sofa seating, waiter service, ‘rustle-free’ food, fi ne wines, Champagnes, beers and cocktails, enticing movie goers who have outgrown the homogeneous offerings of the multiplex.

There’s nothing quite like it anywhere else in the city – and it’s an unmissable opportunity for bars and restaurants, too: an all-weather, all-year round attraction that extends peak hours and brings even more potential customers hungry for pre- or post-movie refreshment.

10

THE RIGHT NAMES IN THE RIGHT PLACE Quality attracts quality, with the big retail brands pulling in the in crowd. The new Mailbox is carefully tailored to create a premium mixed-use destination that will entice even more visitors with a revitalised and energised dining, retail and entertainment offering.

11

The upper level will be enclosed with a glass roof to create a relaxing ‘urban room’, a gallery for some of fashion’s best-known names joining Harvey Nichols. On the lower levels, the new Mailbox will be the first and last word in contemporary shopping with independent and accessory brands anchored by the large lifestyle store.

Complementing this unique retail offering, will be a haven for eating, drinking, relaxing, entertaining and socialising. The perfect stop after the hectic shop; and a dining destination in its own right.

12

BE IN WITH THE IN CROWD One of the most exciting opportunities in the new Mailbox, the 3,583 sq. ft. unit adjacent to our fl agship Harvey Nichols store, is the perfect location for a casual dining venue.

Spot on for lunch-on-the-go, a break from shopping or a quick snack, it couldn’t be better placed for food and beverage brands looking to attract high spending, image conscious customers. Dynamic, vibrant and exciting… the tastiest opportunity, in the ideal location.

13

14

A TASTE OF THINGS TO COME The Mailbox has become fi rmly established as the place to see and be seen: the high-end shopping, dining and leisure destination in Britain’s most exciting city.

Whatever the cuisine, it can be found here – with food from Central America, Europe and the Far East; Champagne, cocktails, real ale and wine bars all offering the perfect spot for a lunchtime bite, a sophisticated night out with friends, a family get together or a romantic evening.

15

16

The relaxing canalside location creates the perfect ambience any time of day or night, mixing alfresco dining and cosy, comfy interiors to complement the changing seasonal menu.

The city’s growing and widely-lauded cultural scene attracts locals and visitors alike. Attractions such as The Symphony Hall, The International Convention Centre, The Birmingham Royal Ballet and The Hippodrome Theatre draw in a high-class clientele from near and far, many of whom choose to combine their day out with a meal or drink at the Mailbox.

The home crowd is just as impressive: high-end city living apartments are just a stone’s throw away, with the Malmaison and Ramada hotels on the doorstep too. The local customer base is young, affl uent and lookingto live it up with the high-status brands on their doorstep.

To add a little media sparkle, the BBC has its Midlands base in The Mailbox, which it intends to develop as a centre of digital excellence.

I SHOP, I EAT, I LIVE Take a closer look at those who choose to shop, eat, meet and relax at the Mailbox. The majority of our clientele is urban, educated, well off and stylish. Whether they live or work locally, or visit the city for business or pleasure, discerning people gravitate towards the venues that offer them what they’re looking for. A touch of class; a taste of elegance; an understanding that the finer things in life are always worth seeking out.

It’s not only the retail and dining temptations that pull in the crowds: below ground is another major reason people arrive at the Mailbox. Just a few minutes from New Street Station, the three-tier ‘Park Mark’ award-winning Mailbox car park has nearly 700 spaces and offers 24/7 secure, well-lit parking for visitors to the Mailbox and other nearby venues.

GO WEST FOR SUCCESS It’s an exciting time for Birmingham, with its biggest infrastructure project for years – the redevelopment of the mainline New Street Station – creating massive opportunities for the city.

The station’s new Grand Central retail development and John Lewis store will attract a huge number of visitors into the city and swing the focus of shopping and dining westwards from its current Bullring epicentre.

The Mailbox simply couldn’t be better placed to capitalise on this shift. With a greater emphasis on eating and drinking, it’s perfectly located to attract these potential new customers and lunchtime trade from the ever-expanding business community in the immediate catchment.
