WRITER/DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT:

When I heard the first of many stories about sex trafficking, I was at a Forever Found event and sat listening to a beautiful, artic-ulate girl tell about how she had been brutalized. I was stunned that this was happening in suburban neighborhoods in America. She stood in front of about 100 of us that night and as hearts were breaking around me, this film was inspired as one way to help.

At our first table reading, those in attendance were moved …

This crime thriller reveals this multibillion dollar business driven by lust and greed. There are girls being taken and those who try to save them. But, their rescue could mean risking everything.

A quiet neighborhood is rocked by the abduction of teen foster girls, Rachel and Lexi .

LEXI:LEXI 17. “Sexy Lexi” is always seeking attention good or bad, Lexi has been in foster care since she was a toddler and just wants to be loved.

RACHEL:RACHEL, 16. She is easy to love, smart, kind and honest. She landed in a foster group home at age 12 after her parents were killed suddenly.

IAN:20-30 year-old. Handsome and well built, charming when he wants to be, luring girls with his charm and good looks. He works for Mario and enjoys manipulating and terrorizing the girls.

There is a multibillion dollar business driven by lust and greed.

MARIO:Tough street thug with greasy hair. Leader of a sex trafficking ring who uses intimidation and threats to get his way.

There are girls being taken and those who try to save them. But, their rescue could mean risking everything.

RUSS & ANNIE LARSON:RUSS is a tough but likable retired marine who’s been married to ANNIE, his strong, adventurous high school sweetheart for 30 years. They have had a lifetime of experiences but have never had children. When they open their beautiful suburban home to a foster teen they are in for the biggest challenge of their lives.

DETECTIVE JONES:Heroes on the front lines stage a daring rescue. DETECTIVE JONES a powerful man of integrity rallies a community to help free the children.

JANET CRAIG & DOUG GROSSMAN, PRODUCERSVeteran film maker, actress, producer and director, Janet Craig and husband Doug Grossman, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Operations at 20th Century Fox, have joined forces to produce the Hotline movie. Janet wrote the screenplay of this action-thriller and Doug brings his business expertise in film distribution and strategic planning to the Hotline Movie project.

For a decade, these parents of 4 have been involved as foster parents and advocates for children who are being trafficked.

MIKE & KRISTEN WISE, PRODUCERSMike is a mortgage financing professional and Kristen has a degree in child development/psychology. She also worked for Wolfgang Puck in several capacities, including cooking for the Oscars and Grammys, and plans to bring great food to the set during production. In ad-dition to being parents of four of their own, they have been foster parents to many. As active advocates of foster children, a primary target of child traffickers, they are passionate about making this film to raise awareness which spurs action and helps to protect foster kids from being victims of this global crisis. Mike and Kristen are on the board of RaisingHOPE, Inc.

DEBORAH SMERECNIK, EXECUTIVE PRODUCERDeborah is CEO of Busy Bee Film Productions. She is passion-ate about producing compelling films that bring inspirational stories to life on the big screen. After attending the first table reading of this movie, she began investing her resources in this film.

TAMI BARNETT, PRODUCER/RAISINGHOPE, INC.Tami spent 9 years at the Children’s Law Center of California as a staff attorney. She led the initial efforts for the firm regarding child sex trafficking identification and prevention. Currently the Executive Director of RaisingHOPE, Inc., a nonprofit that she co-founded, which serves children of the foster care system. She engages the community through trainings and speaking on foster care, adoption, reunification and child welfare law.

DEANNA SHAPIRO, LINE PRODUCERDeanna has spent over two decades producing award winning films, including, The Legend of Cryin’ Ryan, which she wrote and di-rected, Junkyard Dog, Kill Speed, Bad Behavior, and A Better Place. Deanna most recently produced the soon to be released Urban comedy, HeadShop. She is excited to bring her skills to the battle to save our youth from trafficking. She has completed the budget and schedule for The Hotline Movie.

SARA WALLACE & JAIME GALLAGHERWALLACE/GALLAGHER CASTINGSara and Jaime have teamed up successfully casting feature films for almost five years. Having worked together with Janet on several projects, they are excited to be a part of the fight against human trafficking and lending their talents to casting The Hotline Movie.

ANICA BARBOSA, ASSOCIATE PRODUCERAnica is a producer, actor and owns a non-profit organization, Stepping Forward, Inc. that provides care for the elderly home-less. She represented her home country, Cape Verde Islands as Miss Cabo Verde. She has jumped into The Hotline Movie project as production support and is in charge of The Hotline Movie’s Instagram.

BILL MENDIETA, ASSOCIATE PRODUCER/STORY BOARD ARTISTBill has an extensive background in the entertainment industry as a producer, director, actor, casting director, writer and storyboard art-ist for commercials, films and theater. We are thrilled he has joined The Hotline team as a storyboard artist and production support.

MIKE YUEN, ASSOCIATE PRODUCERMike has been a creative professional for over 45 years, recently retiring from Joni and Friends where he produced a Telly award winning TV series and traveled the world as a photo/video journalist. He’s currently involved in multiple independent creative projects. Mike is passionate about using his professional skills to serve the marginalized. He organizes and manages craative assets and documents for The Hotline Movie, in addition to photography and designing the Look Book.

SCOTT DISHAROON, PRODUCERScott has a diverse background producing and developing film, television and theater projects including Aura Borealis, Illusion, The LA Riot Spectacular and Critics. Scott is driven to be part of this action-thriller because it can bring the visual power of film into the fight against child slavery. Scott has been a consultant on this project and plans to be involved as a producer and post house.

MARC & MICHELLE GRIFFITH, EDITORSThe son of a network television writer, Marc grew up in the business. As an award-winning producer of TV commercials, he co-founded Iron Image, producing award-winning trailers and print campaigns for major and independent feature studios. He also produces award winning feature documentaries. Marc and his wife/ business partner, Michelle, who is a published journalist and author, have a passion to tell stories that will help raise up Hollywood as a positive voice of change for the world. The Hotline Movie is a perfect platform for that purpose. They have created the concept teaser.

BETH GLASNER, COSTUME DESIGNERBeth is an award-winning costume designer, with well over a hundred productions in film and theater on her resumé. She owns her own design company and is pleased to collaborate again with Janet on this film.

ANGIE WELIKALA SOCIAL MEDIA/PRODUCTION SUPPORT“Dr. Angie” is a Chiropractor, Author, Motivational Speaker and CEO /Founder of Healing Agents International. She is a two-time cancer survivor and advocate for people in crisis. She is also passionate about bringing hope and healing to those who have been victimized by human trafficking. She founded the non-prof-it, Healing Agents International, to support families walking through cancer. She is spearheading our Facebook presence.

BECKY SEHNUK WAITE, GRAPHIC & WEB DESIGNERBecky has provided graphic design for a variety of organizations around the world. She developed branding and promotional material for both Forever Found and Slavery No More. For 7 years, she was Creative Director for Joni and Friends, a nonprofit serving families affected by disabilities worldwide. Currently she works as a contract designer for LinkedIn and a full-time multimedia designer for the University of Michigan, in addition to her freelance design business, serving a variety of clients.

MEREDITH O’CONNOR, SINGER/SONG WRITER/ACTRESSMeredith is a teen pop star and anti-bullying advocate for the United Nations. Her music has been featured on Radio Disney, Teen Nick, NBC and MTV. She has sold out headlining concerts all over the world. She is very excited to be lending her talents to The Hotline Movie and helping children who are vulnerable.

GEORGE GABRIEL, COMPOSERAn American multi-instrumentalist and composer, George has composed and scored music for TV and film for decades. His wife is on staff at Forever Found and one of his three daughters Alex is a talented actress who played the role of the trafficked girl in our concept trailer. George has a passion to help children and bring his musical talents to The Hotline Movie.

MICHELLE WHIPPLE, MARKETING MANAGERAs a marketing professional, Michelle has worked with small businesses, universities and nonprofit organizations to build brands that rise above the clutter. Recently, Michelle directed the college relations program and contributed to overall marketing at OPEN USA, an organization that is transforming nations through King-dom business. Michelle manages marketing and publicity for The Hotline Movie to shed light on the horrors of human trafficking.
