One of the main characteristics of our church is the emphasis that we place over the years on dis-cipleship. By discipleship, we mean what the Bible teaches about it-- that it starts with building rela-tionships with non-Christians and sharing Christ with them, to nurturing them when they become believers so that they themselves will reproduce for Christ.

CATALYST SUMMER... (continued from page 1)

One of the joys I have had over the years is to see second, third and even fourth generation leaders as a result of disciple-ship. It is such an encourage-ment to me that God has given me the privilege of taking any-where from one to as many as sixteen persons to seminary as they consider training for min-istry. And for our church to consistently send out mission-aries and full time Christian workers. Several of our leaders are also products of this discipleship process. And we want to con-tinue and strengthen what we are doing. We want to involve as many in our church as possi-ble in fruitfulness and joy of this discipleship process. That is the reason we are doing something different for Sunday School this summer.

We will be going over the intent of the Lord Jesus' Great Com-mission in Matthew 28:18-20 and give everyone some very practical steps on how to do this. We will start with all the Sunday school classes meeting together in the Fellowship Hall June 3, and we will have Sun-days when the individual Sunday school classes will meet to proc-ess the teaching we had the week before. We will promptly start our large group meetings at 9:35 am. Catalyst Summer is like a ship that we all board and for the next few weeks, where we will travel together, train together, have fun together, and when we get to end of our summer desti-nation, we can minister and do disciple together more effec-tively.
