Senior Pastor’s Message
“Knights of North Castle”
This title probably doesn't make much sense to you. It is going to be really
important, especially, for the children and families of our church. This year Vacation Bible School
is going to be different. We can't have children attend in person VBS, but we are going to have
them pick up a bag with craft materials and instructions on how to connect with the videos
online.
The Knights of North Castle will teach the children about putting on the armor of God. The
helmet, the belt, the breastplate, the shoes, and the sword. Each item can be found in Ephesians
6 and show how it plays an important part to protect the soldiers of Christ from the evil and
terrible things of this world.
We all need to put on the Armor of God every day. The lessons for Vacation Bible School are not
only for the children, but for us all as disciples of Jesus Christ. Take care and God bless.
Pastor Mike Carr
We are looking forward to our Community Vacation Bible School – in a different way this year!
Together with First Baptist and First Presbyterian churches, we will be providing a home VBS kit for our
church and community children. In addition, food bags will be provided for children in need.
Your contributions for these packets are greatly appreciated!
We are collecting the items listed below for each of the community bags. Items should be delivered to the
church by Wednesday, July 8. Thank you!
6. Box of vanilla wafer cookies
7. 8pk box of crayons
8. Pair of scissors
9. Bottle of liquid school glue
1. Can of Spaghetti-O’s
2. Box of Cheerios
3. Jar of Peanut Butter
4. Jar of Jelly 5. 6-pack of applesauce
Thank You!
To my wonderful church friends for all the prayers, emails, calls, and texts. Life has been difficult
but God is taking care of us. The love of God this church shows is appreciated greatly by my
family. Never would I have believed my father and husband plus others could have contracted
Covid 19 at my mothers funeral, but it happened and I got Covid 19 from my dad or Ed. Your
prayers for my daddy have made a real difference in his recovery. FUMC is a praying church. I am
on a leave of absence due to the virus and family obligations. I’m not sure how long this will be.
All of you are in my prayers and I can’t wait for us to meet in person again. Until that
time, please wear a mask out in public. I really believe it will make a difference.
Blessings,
Pastor Jerrianne.
