We are one week in to the new year and already are so very proud of our learners, staff, and families. Our learners have adapted well to our new reopening processes to help keep everyone safe. Our MYPCS students are navigang through CANVAS and learning alongside their classmates and teachers. Finally, our staff has created plans, communicated with families, supported learners, and prepared classroom environments that strongly support academic achievement and social and emoonal learning and growth. We are incredibly pleased with how everyone is adapng to the new challenges we face every day. Here are just a few of the expectaons we want to be sure are clear for all: * Aendance is crical to student success whether it is in the tradional seng or online. Parents should contact the office for any student who is absent and write a note in the planner as well. The wellness screener should be followed daily to ensure that your child is feeling well. * All students, parents, and visitors on campus are required to wear a face covering. * All informaon in FOCUS must be accurate for parents to receive both email and phone messages including emergency call outs, weekly updates, and various school and district communicaons. Please log into FOCUS and update parent contact info including phone numbers and email to ensure you receive informaon. If you need assistance or your password reset, please contact the office at 588-3569. While the seng has changed, parent involvement events will connue! Our first virtual PTA meeng of the year will be held on Zoom on Tuesday, September 8th. Save the date for our Title I Annual Meeng and Virtual Open House on September 15th beginning at 5:30pm and 6pm respecvely. This event will provide parents informaon on our Title I program and important informaon from teachers on what to expect this coming year. Classroom Guidelines for Success and curriculum will shared, as well as ways to keep connected throughout the year. More informaon will be shared next week. We appreciate all our families who are providing addional support to our learners. The home school connecon is a key component in each learners success. Dismissal: 2:50pm—Buses, PreK/VPK 2:52pm—R’Club 2:53—Bike riders and walkers 2:55—Car riders 2020-2021 Uniform Policy SHIRTS: Solid-colored, collared polo-style shirt in light blue, navy blue, and red. Shirts should be free from design or logos greater than a quarter. BOTTOMS: Khaki or navy colored uniform booms. This includes shorts, pants, capris, skorts, skirts, jumpers (shorts must be worn underneath skirts/ jumpers). Shorts should follow Pinellas County dress code of mid –thigh length or longer. Length of garments, outerwear, and footwear follow Pinellas County Dress Code. Mildred Helms spirit shirts may be worn on Fridays for Spirit Day!

Caring for Our Learning Community Just a few reminders about the PCS Reopening Plan and a few new processes at

Mildred Helms so we can keep everyone healthy and safe!

All members of our learning community—students, staff, and

family members—are required to wear a mask or face covering

on campus. If you come to the school for office business

please bring your mask along with your photo ID.

What’s New with Morning Arrival?

All gates open at 8:15am.

Breakfast is being served at two locations on campus:

Media Center for Car Circle Café for Bus and Van Riders

All Pre-K, VPK, and Kindergarten students are served breakfast in their classrooms.

Students eat breakfast in their classrooms.

If your student eats breakfast at home, please try and arrive to campus around 8:30am. This

helps with social distancing in the morning.

What’s New with Dismissal?

Dismissal begins at 2:50pm.

2:53—Bike riders and walkers 2:55—Car riders

Please help support our students and staff by

picking up car riders on time to reduce the time in the hot sun.

If your student is walking or riding bike, please

make sure your have alternative rainy day dismissal plans.
