The Primary Purpose of His miracles was to prove that

John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Mark 2:9-12 9  Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? 10  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 11  I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 12  And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

John 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

John 11:45-48 45  Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

46  But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done. 47  Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. 48  If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

John 20:30-31 30  And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. .

A secondary purpose of the miracles of Jesus was to demonstrate the love, pity, and concern Jesus has for a lost

and suffering humanity.

Because Jesus…

Gave sight to the blind, I know He can open my eyes to the truth!

Fed the thousands, I know He feeds those who hunger and thirst after righteousness!

Healed a noble man’s son, I know He gives me what money can never buy!

Performed His first miracle at a wedding feast, I know He rejoices in my joy!

Cast out demons, I know He has the power to deliver me from the power of the evil one!

Because Jesus…

Said to the palsied man, “Take up thy bed…” I know He can say to me, “Thy sins be forgiven thee!”

Cleansed the lepers, I know He can cleanse my heart!

Stilled the tempest, I know He can take me safely through all the storms of life!

Raised the only son of the widow of Nain, I know He feels my every heartache and lonely moment!

Raised Lazarus, I know that He is the Resurrection and the Life!
