About This Conference

Conference Agenda

The Home Care industry continues to be faced with many changes and challenges. This year our 2020

Annual Conference and Home Care Exhibition - "A Season of Change" - brought with it many changes,

although they were certainly not the ones we were anticipating.

It was not an easy decision, however, due to COVID-19, cancellation of the April face-to-face conference

was necessary to ensure the health and well-being of all those involved. Despite this obstacle, MAHC

moved forward and offered our 2020 Annual Conference and Home Care Exhibition virtually. However,

due to the early disruptions & shifted priorities of state staff within the Division of Senior & Disability

Services (DSDS) & MoHealthNet, Medicaid specific sessions were postponed and not included in the

first virtual opportunity.

We are now pleased to bring you our 2020 Virtual Medicaid Conference. This conference will be LIVE

interactive sessions over a 2-day schedule. It will also include the opportunity for attendee networking

discussions at the conclusion of each day.

MAHC is committed to a safe and healthy conference experience, holding the health and wellbeing of

our attendees and speakers as top priority. This virtual event allows attendees to gain the high-quality

content, experience engaged networking, and hear updates on the industry – all from the comfort and

safety of your home or office.

In addition, several recorded sessions from our Virtual Annual Conference will also be included with

your registration.

This experience will still give you the opportunity to learn from industry leaders on a range of

must-hear topics to prepare you for those challenges and changes on the horizon. Don’t miss out on

this VALUABLE opportunity!

9:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Level of Care Transformation (LOC) and Quality InterRAI Assessments LOC/InterRAI – This session will provide the latest updates regarding the Level of Care Transformation. As we move to changing LOC it is important

ensure all assessors have a clear understanding of the InterRAI assessment. The new LOC algorithm is only as good as the assessment being

completed. In this session, we will walk through the most important parts of the InterRAI and those “tricky” scenarios sometimes encountered to

ensure consistent and accurate assessments across the state.

Jessica Schaefer, RN, Quality Unit Supervisor and Mercedes Vandyke, Senior Public Health Program Specialist, Division of Senior & Disability

Services (DSDS), Jefferson City, MO

10:35 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Consistent and Accurate Care Planning & Case Record Documentation In addition to consistent and accurate assessments, care planning and documentation should also align. Together we will discuss how all three aspects

of the case record should work hand and hand to paint one consistent picture to ensure the needs of participants are being met.
