REGULATION

The event consists of 4 tournaments, all with Elo FSI / FIDE variation:

Open A reserved for players with Elo FIDE / FSI score ≥1900

Open B reserved for players with Elo FIDE / FSI score <1900

Open C reserved for players with Elo FIDE / FSI score ≤1700

Open D reserved for players with Elo FIDE/ FSI score ≤1500 e NC

OPEN A - Open B - Open C- Open D: 7 rounds of the Swiss system, reflection time 90 'for

the first 40 moves with a supplement of 15' and an increase of 30 "per move starting from

the first (90 '+ 15' + 30 ' 'a move).

Participation fee for pre-registered players:

• OPEN A: € 55.00 per player (free registration for GM and IM)

• OPEN B, C e D: € 50.00 per player; € 30.00 for the Under 16

• For non-prescribed players there is a penalty of € 5.00

Italian and foreign players residing in Italy must be in possession of the FSI competitive or

junior 2020 card, failing which they can sign it during the tournament. The player who does

not appear on the board within 30 'of the start of the game session will lose the game. As

contemplated in the current FSI / FIDE Regulation, the introduction and use of electronic

equipment in the play area is prohibited. The player found in possession of an electronic

device will lose the game; there is a deposit / custody service for mobile phones. For anything

not covered in this Call for Regulations, the current FSI and FIDE rules apply. Registration

for the event implies total and unconditional acceptance of the contents of this Call and

implies, pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 196/03, the consent of each participant to the

processing of data for strict organizational needs and to the publication of certain personal

references (surname, name, date and place of birth, photo, Elo), as well as the results

achieved, on the official website of the demonstration and chess ones. Disabled players or

those with special needs are kindly requested to notify the organizer in advance of their

participation in the event.

In the event of insufficient numbers of participants in the individual tournaments B and

C, the Organization reserves the right to combine them into a single Open. In this case,

only the prizes of the higher category tournament will be awarded.

Venue for the game: "Ethnographic Museum of Rural Life”, Via Garibaldi Floresta (ME).

All Open are valid for ELO FSI / FIDE variations. Play-off systems: Bucholtz CUT 1, Total

Bucholtz, A.R.O., eventual direct clash. FSI 2020 membership is mandatory (FSI Competitive

Card or FSI Junior Card); it will still be possible to register at the time of registration. The

organization reserves the right to make any changes that may be necessary for the success

of the event.

The organization expresses the possibility of a free bus / shuttle service, upon

communication, from Catania airport to Floresta on the evening of Wednesday 02

September 2020, and from Floresta to Catania airport on the evening of Sunday 06

September 2020 after the award ceremony.

VILLAGE FLORESTA

Floresta, a small town located in the Nebrodi Mountains in the province of Messina, about 1

hour and a half away from Catania airport. Floresta holds a small record; in fact, with its

1275 meters above sea level, it is the highest municipality in Sicily. Nestled along the

Nebrodi buttresses, it offers the beauties of unspoiled nature, breathtaking landscapes,

healthy air and the fruits that nature offers. The characteristics of the territory mean that

the Municipality of Floresta is inserted in the territory of the Nebrodi park and also laps the

River Park of the Alcantara river, of which, in the same territory of the Municipality, the

source flows. The territory of the Municipality is characterized by the vast woodland area

included in the Nebrodi Park area and offers the pristine beauty of a friendly nature. The

current site of the municipality, in antiquity was certainly used by the Romans, as a supply of

timber, for their ships, also given the proximity to the Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily. The

inhabitants had to be almost certainly dedicated to cutting and transporting the drums; this

primordial settlement was then abandoned in the dark ages of the Middle Ages, due to the

difficulties of communication and supplies in the winter, usually snowy periods. At the

beginning of the XIV century, the territory was infeuded by Federico D'Aragona to the noble

Peregrino De Pactis, as a prerogative for the high positions held. For various successions and

for dotal acts in the following centuries, the fiefdom came to the Spanish nobleman Antonio

Quintanas Duegna, then passed to the Ardoino, the Moncada d'Alcontres and finally to the

Stagno d'Alcontres, who kept it until the abolition of feudal privileges, sanctioned by the new

Bourbon constitution in 1812. In 1820, the small community was erected in an autonomous

municipality.

Local products of the territory: Provola of Nebrodi, Slow Food Presidia. Production area: the

whole Nebrodi area (provinces of Messina, Enna and Catania). Oval in shape, it has a smooth

and shiny rind, straw yellow in color and the weight of each shape is 1.2-1.4 kilograms. Provola

dei Nebrodi is a highly appreciated table cheese, but it is also used as an ingredient for

typical Sicilian dishes; sweet if young, spicy if seasoned.

The patronal feast dedicated to Saint Anna is celebrated on 26 July.

OPEN A – Open B – Open C– Open D: 7 turni sistema svizzero, tempo di riflessione 90’ per le

prime 40 mosse con un supplemento di 15 ’ ed incremento di 30” a mossa a partire dalla prima

(90’+15’+30’’ a mossa).

che non si presenti alla scacchiera entro 30’ dall’inizio della sessione di gioco perderà la

partita. Come contemplato nel vigente Regolamento FSI/FIDE è vietata l’introduzione e

l’uso di apparecchiature elettroniche nell’area di gioco. Il giocatore trovato in possesso di

un dispositivo elettronico perderà la partita; è previsto un servizio di deposito/custodia per i

cellulari. Per quanto non contemplato nel presente Bando-Regolamento, valgono le norme FSI e

FIDE vigenti. L'iscrizione alla manifestazione implica l'accettazione totale e incondizionata di

quanto esposto nel presente Bando e sottintende, ai sensi del D. Lgs. n. 196/03, il consenso di

ciascun partecipante al trattamento dei dati per le strette esigenze organizzative ed alla

pubblicazione di taluni riferimenti personali (cognome, nome, data e luogo di nascita, foto,

Elo), nonché dei risultati conseguiti, sul sito ufficiale della manifestazione e quelli

scacchistici. I giocatori disabili o con particolari esigenze sono pregati di avvisare

preventivamente l’organizzatore della loro partecipazione alla manifestazione.

In caso di numero insufficiente di partecipanti ai singoli tornei B e C, l’Organizzazione si

riserva la possibilità di accorparli in un unico Open. In tale ipotesi si assegneranno solo i

premi del torneo di categoria superiore accorpato.

Tutti gli Open sono validi per le variazioni ELO FSI/FIDE. Sistemi di spareggio: Bucholtz CUT

1, Bucholtz Totale, A.R.O., eventuale scontro diretto.

E’ obbligatorio il tesseramento FSI 2020 (Tessera Agonistica o Tess. Junior della FSI); sarà

comunque possibile tesserarsi all’atto dell’iscrizione.

L'organizzazione si riserva la facoltà di apportare tutte le modifiche che si rendessero

necessarie per il buon esito della manifestazione.

N.B. L’organizzazione manifesta la possibilità di un servizio bus/navetta gratuito, previa

comunicazione, dall’aeroporto di Catania a Floresta la sera del Mercoledì 2 Settembre 2020, e

da Floresta all’aeroporto di Catania la sera della Domenica 6 Settembre 2020 dopo la

premiazione.

Borgo Floresta

Floresta, piccolo centro che si trova sui Monti Nebrodi in provincia di Messina, distante circa

1 ora e mezza dall’aeroporto di Catania. Floresta detiene un piccolo primato; infatti, con i suoi

1275 metri s.l.m., è il comune più alto in Sicilia. Incastonato lungo i contrafforti dei Nebrodi,

offre le bellezze di una natura incontaminata, paesaggi mozzafiato, aria salubre e i frutti che

la natura offre. Le caratteristiche del territorio fanno sì che il Comune di Floresta è inserito

nel territorio del parco dei Nebrodi e lambisce anche il Parco Fluviale del fiume Alcantara,

di cui, nello stesso territorio del Comune, sgorga la sorgente. Il territorio del Comune è

caratterizzato dalla vasta estensione boschiva compresa nel comprensorio del Parco dei

Nebrodi e offre le bellezze incontaminate di una natura amica. L'attuale sito del comune,

nell'antichità era sicuramente utilizzato dai romani, quale rifornimento di legname, per le loro

navi, vista anche la vicinanza con la costa tirrenica della Sicilia. Gli Abitanti dovevano essere

quasi sicuramente dediti al taglio ed al trasporto dei fusti; questo primordiale insediamento

sarebbe poi stato abbandonato nei secoli bui del medioevo, per via delle difficoltà di

comunicazione ed approvvigionamenti nei periodi invernali, solitamente innevati. All'inizio del

XIV secolo, il territorio venne infeudato da Federico D'Aragona al nobile Peregrino De Pactis,

quale appannaggio per le alte cariche ricoperte. Per successioni varie e per atti dotali nei

secoli successivi, il feudo pervenne al nobile spagnolo Antonio Quintanas Duegna, passò poi agli

Ardoino, ai Moncada d'Alcontres ed infine agli Stagno d'Alcontres, che lo tennero fino

all'abolizione dei privilegi feudali, sancita dalla nuova costituzione borbonica nel 1812. Nel

1820, la piccola comunità veniva eretta in Comune autonomo.

Prodotti tipici del territorio: Provola dei Nebrodi, Presìdio Slow Food. Area di produzione:

tutta l’area dei Nebrodi (province di Messina, Enna e Catania). Di forma ovoidale, ha una

crosta liscia e lucida, di colore giallo paglierino e il peso di ogni forma è di 1,2-1,4 chilogrammi.

La Provola dei Nebrodi è un formaggio da tavola molto apprezzato, ma è utilizzato anche come

ingrediente per piatti tipici della gastronomia siciliana; dal sapore dolce se giovane, piccante

se stagionato.

La festa Patronale dedicata a Sant’Anna si celebra il 26 luglio.
