Slide 2 The Museum of Art and Archaeology appreciates its docents! Our docents are intelligent, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Without them, we would be unable to fulfill the duties needed to offer the educational tours and events that enhance the Museums mission. 5 year award recipients: Barbara Fabacher Mike Kraff Alice Reese Pam Springsteel Next year more recipients and more years! Slide 3 New Docents! Sue Hoevelman; Shari Emery; Rebecca Cuscaden; Kathi Lucas Slide 4 Slide 5 Slide 6 Slide 7 5th grade Christian Fellowship School 5/7/09 Dear Mrs Cassidy, Thank you for being a good docent to my class. Thank you for volunteering for no money. You were a great docent. Your amazed tourist, Miguel Thank you for taking the time and patience with us. We really think you were very nice. Slide 8 Slide 9 5/11/09 Thank you for letting Russellville third grade see all of the art. I enjoyed it. Your friend, Zach I loved the busts and the money. Some of the money was so small if I dropped it, I would probably think it was a piece of dirt. The mummy stuff was awesome. How did you get all the stuff? Thanks, Makayla I also liked learning about Egypt, Rome and Paris. I couldnt stop thinking about it so I asked my dad if we could go to Egypt. He said Maybe. Your friend, Klara Slide 10 Slide 11 Slide 12 Slide 13 Slide 14 Docents: Andrea Allen, Nancy Cassidy, Lauren Huber, Alice Reese, Carol Stevenson November 9, 2009 Dear Staff of the Museum of Art and Archaeology: I am very glad you took the time to give the 5 th graders of Paxton Keeley a tour through the museum. There are so many beautiful artifacts in it The expressions on the statues faces were very clear I also loved the story of St./King Louis, though he was obviously very foolish and not fit to be king in his young age. [In]the room with the pepper shakers everything was so lovely; I still catch my breath picturing it Slide 15 Slide 16 More comments from elementary students I also really loved the art and statues, and I liked the tour guide she was very nice. I saw a television thing upstairs and thought it looked like a person? I dont know if you get my letter tell me what the heck it is! Pleeeeeeesssseee The stories were amazing!.. I was amazed what a sheep boy can do to a big giant like Goliath! Slide 17 Slide 18 Teachers 10/14/09; 2/10/09 I appreciated how our younger group had the opportunity to touch something in a special box coordinated by their tour leader. And I loved the stories told to the older group so they could connect to the art. Our docent was fantastic. She was very attune to our students needs. She gave an appropriate level of information and engaged the students by asking questions. Slide 19 Slide 20 Slide 21 Slide 22 Slide 23 Slide 24 Teachers 6/12/09 Great tour our children loved the information. I thank you and all the docents who gave my class such a quality tour!
