All those meeting these requirements are
encouraged to join. A membership application is

join on our website at:
https://1sba.wildapricot.org/Apply.
A list of board members, history and events are
readily available on the association website, which
includes the most up-to-date information about
association activities.
Purposes and Goals
- Promote continued comradeship among the
past and present members.
- Preserve historical heritage.
- Promote and establish activities that enhance
the US Army Signal Corps.
- Provide contributions, grants, and scholarships
to further these purposes.
- Administer funds and property for these
purposes.
1st Signal Brigade Association
Charitable Donations
As is customary at our reunions, the 1st Signal
Brigade Association announces donations to
charitable organizations supported by the Army’s
Signal Corps family and those that support our
soldiers. Since 2010, the 1st Signal Brigade
Association has contributed over $13,500 to
various charitable organizations. At the 2018
Reunion in San Antonio, TX, the Association
approved charitable donations to the Fisher House
at Fort Gordon, Georgia ($2,000) and the Army
Historical Foundation for a Tribute Plaque ($5000)
at the Museum of the U.S. Army. Recently
approved was an annual contribution to the 1st
Signal Brigade in Korea to support the educational
and historical aspects of the Brigade’s Signal Week,
Signal Ball ($1500), and the National Museum and
WWI Memorial ($250).

From the Association Chairman
Distinguished Colleagues,
I am happy to report that your association
reunion committee has finalized almost all the
details for our 2021 reunion. Registration is now
open on our website for the reunion, hotel and an
assortment of tours that are certain to be
entertaining as you renew acquaintances from our
time serving together.
We have intentionally spotlighted the new
Museum of the Army located just outside Ft.
Belvoir, Virginia for our main Friday tour. I have
made this visit on several occasions and find the
museum extremely interesting with something for
everyone. Additionally, there is the Spirit of
Washington cruise on the Potomac river on
Thursday, the Vietnam Memorial Wall, and
Arlington Cemetery on Saturday. Should you have
interest elsewhere, our hotel is located a subway
ride away from the many historical and unique
sites of the Washington DC area.
Besides the tours, our seemingly most
popular event is the informal get togethers at the
hospitality suite where many stories are
exchanged, and long past relationships renewed.
On Saturday morning we have our annual members
business meeting. Attending this gives insight and
input into how your board conducts and operates
the association. Our banquet on Saturday evening
is the culminating semi-formal Army ceremonial
event we hope all will attend.
We hope the pandemic may have played
itself out by this reunion, as it looks as if most of us
will have be vaccinated and perhaps it might be a
reunion as in the past. If not, we all tuned into
wearing masks, social distancing and the like so are
fully capable of enjoying ourselves under these
minor constraints.
If you can, recruit another unit member to
attend or bring a friend.

Vietnam Poetry from member
Jerry Brooks
For You
When you come home
from war
nothing you can say or do
you just hope and pray
people will understand you
I have been away
for quite some time
find it very difficult
to say what is on my mind
They took away my
legs but not my heart
now I’m back home and
a new life I must start
Please do not feel sorry
for me and think what
he might be going through
Please remember I did
this for my country and
I did this for you
One Cup of Coffee per Month
What is the annual cost of
membership to the Association? That
would be the same as the cost of
twelve cups of coffee. The monthly
cost of $1.25 for each cup of coffee
equates to $15.00 for the year.
One Cup of Coffee per Month
Don’t you think that being a member of our
growing Association is worth the cost of a
one cup of coffee each month?
