The precise instrumentcluster is fully integrated into the dashboard, while the door controls, trim, armrestand storage compartment combine in a single, effective unit.

Choosing between 2 impressive engines – 1 petrol and 1 diesel – isn’t made easierwhen you realise that each provides an exceptionally powerful, pulse-quickeningexperience. And with optimised axle-load distribution, driving has never been assatisfying as it is on the A5’s 17” alloy wheels.

That’s why the latest generation of quattro® four-wheel-drive is available on selected A5 and S5 quattro models. The principle is simple: in the sameway that four brakes ensure better deceleration, four permanently-drivenwheels deliver better acceleration and road-holding. On quattro® models,drive power is continuously distributed between the front and rear axlesdepending on weather conditions, road surface and gradient. And whatbetter technology to feature on this sporty model than the one that hasgiven Audi the edge on the racetrack ever since it was first introduced over 25 years ago.

Engines

All A5 petrol engines feature FSI® direct-injection – a uniqueAudi technology originally developed for the Le Mans 24-hourendurance race to deliver increased power and torque as wellas enhanced fuel efficiency. The way it does this is, in theory,very simple. Fuel is injected directly into the combustionchambers, ‘unthrottling’ the engine, reducing heat-loss andincreasing output – all whilst reducing fuel consumption andexhaust emissions. Ideal for the buyer who wants a sporty,exhilarating drive without the drawbacks of excessive fuelcosts or high emissions-based taxation.

Petrol

All diesel engines from Audi are known as TDI®. This impressivetechnology was originally pioneered by Audi in 1989, markinga departure from the noisy, fuel-thirsty diesel engines of thepast. Like its FSI® petrol counterpart, the TDI® diesel engine is designed for power and performance, with low fuelconsumption and CO2 emissions. The working principleof the TDI® engine is based upon precision and compression.A turbocharger supplies fresh air to the engine, ensuringoptimum filling of the cylinder. The result – you get the most interms of performance and economy from every drop of fuelthat enters the tank.

ServicingCO2 data and information

Servicing tailored to your needs

Prior to the 2000 model year, almost all Audi models followeda traditional fixed Service Schedule similar to that of othermajor car manufacturers: a Lubrication Service every 10,000miles and an Inspection Service every 12 months or 20,000miles – whichever occurred sooner. Since then, Audi hasintroduced a more flexible maintenance system that works in accordance with how, where and how much an individualuses their car.

The two Servicing Regimes available are the conventional’Inspection Service Regime’ and the flexible ’LongLife ServiceRegime’. When you purchase a new car, we will recommendone of these regimes to you depending on your ownindividual driving style and journey-type. The tables belowshould give you an indication of which regime might be moreappropriate for you.

With the LongLife Service Regime, on-board sensorscontinuously monitor the condition of the engine oil in termsof temperature, level and oil degradation. The monitoringsystem also checks mileage, brake-pad wear and batterycondition. Using this information, the car’s on-board

computer calculates its own maintenance interval, providingyou with ample warning of a due Service via the ’distance toService’ display.

In practice, this means that every Audi gets the maintenanceit needs, when it needs it. For companies and private ownersalike, there are many advantages to the LongLife ServiceRegime. Longer service intervals mean lower maintenancecosts, and thus lower whole-life costs. According to companycar mileage monitored at Audi since the introduction ofLongLife, petrol engines are typically achieving an averageof at least 17,500 miles and diesel engines around 20,000miles between services.

One of the factors that makes this kind of servicing regimepossible is the advanced engineering and technology thatgoes into Audi engines. Furthermore, Audi use high-gradelong-life oils such as Castrol SLX LongLife III, which are designedto withstand ageing and high loads without deterioration.Compared to conventional oils, these advanced-formulationoils also give exceptional levels of engine protection, are kinderto the environment and deliver average fuel savings of 2.7%.

Vehicle Excise Duty (Road Fund Licence) is based upon the typeof fuel a vehicle uses and the amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) it emits, measured in grams per kilometre (g/km). The DVLA hascreated six categories for petrol engines and six categories fordiesel engines.

Courtesy carsWhen your car is off the road, perhaps due to a scheduled service or MOT, we will offer youan Audi Courtesy Vehicle until yours is ready.We’ll even collect from and deliver to yourchosen location, keeping hassle to anabsolute minimum.

All our courtesy cars are insured and fuelledUpon collection or delivery, your courtesy carwill have a minimum of a quarter of a tank offuel; all we ask is that you replace any fuelused before returning it to us. On presentationof your driving licence, we will also insure thecar free of charge.

Service bookingsIf you do not require a courtesy car, we willservice your Audi within a maximum of 5working days. If you do choose to take acourtesy car, we will promise to service yourvehicle within a maximum of 10 working days.

CleaningWhen your car comes to our workshop, wewill wash and vacuum it at no extra cost.

No hidden chargesYou will be consulted before we carry outany necessary work on your vehicle, andanything charged for will be itemised onyour bill. No extra work will be undertakenwithout your permission.

A personal serviceAll work will be done by a named Auditechnician, to whom you can personallydirect questions or requests should youneed to.

Environmental commitmentWe promise to dispose of allnon-biodegradable materials fromyour vehicle in a responsible manner.
