I saw it, it was clear as yesterday. It came from the fissure like a redlighting bolt from the neither-world. After the earthquakes, the screaming

of my tribe, the panic of our children. Why would the dead allow this? But, for it, it changed all of it.And it was? No-one knew.

Whatever it was, it was delightful.I suppose mortals like we were, should have been fearful. But once we sawwe were not.

After it stopped for a moment and then flew off towards the pyramid of Rawe all speculated on it. I personally saw no point, but others do wonder

It was one of the most exciting moments of my un-life. The Sphinx smashed

through the fissure and flew miles into the sky with the lighting blasts

amassing it in a glory hue.

I followed it with travel incantations and saw it land near the statues of Ra

and Ka-Ra Sekhmet. I studied it there.

I therefore introduce my loyal hound ra-Tormeaning second arm of ra May its jaws hue manythroats in the service of ra.

Ra-tor is a sub-race of Greater Bastethi, normally giant cats mummified some have hounds taken fromthe north and mummified. Although cats are more common little of them are used in times of war

because of them being sacred. Hounds therefore are more common as kings guards and pets.

When one rides in battle one needs a war-sphinxlike the other great kings of Khemri. So given thenew vigor my empire I commissioned the old war-

    balloon into the grand war-blimp.

By Ra is it possible a second Casket of Souls for our blessed army of gold. I wondered

what that smile was on Xaltotuns boney features when I showed him the many tormented

souls in our current casket. I also wondered where that official casket got to.

    ^&*@! FEEDBACK SCROLL!

We travelled out of Romainia to fight these green devils. I decided at last moment to not takeor war-blimp and instead take these Necropolis Knight Snake-man. Everything wasworking very well. We cut down the savage biguns and their high level savage shamanwith our new and improved Nurg as a War-sphinx and Ra-atem and a large skeleton

block. I forgot the helping power of our Heiro-titians Cet and Bess to my incantationsfor a turn and we also forgot the front arc of the casket. But this itself was not what undidour army.

From the green ranks a dreaded Feedback scroll was read and targeting me, of all unholythings. My Talisman of Preservation cracked under the strain of protecting my frail formand I succumbed to another death.

When I was reformed and healed I found a note from the holy Zut Elucarr on mysarcophagus it read simply

: Mumble, mumble, Feedback Scroll, mumble, mumble

Oh great Zut, this is true. The Blackman have reported many sightings of

the foul Rat-man. Even to the point of hearing the noise of chaotic

constructions within the northern mountains of Romainia.

How fitting for a Traitor to be forced to damn more souls like himself to damnation. I

    praise this choice.

    Skaven Campaign Battle No.1

Note: This battle is the first in a line of battles during a campaign using a new campaign system under

development. The first battle was limited to 2000 points and both forces were forced not to field anyLords and force to only one of every special and rare troop choice max.

    Mean O Beasts

I am very confident we can put a end to this foul beastman today, nothing can standagainst the might of out two war-sphinxs, nothing at all.

First turn I channeled just a bit too much raw magical power, the backlash was somethingto be felt for it burnt my mind and dazed my ability to cast. Ra-num and Ra-atem both

took themselves into our foul opponents. Ra-num and Sur-ra and his holy warriors were allundone by a unit of great weapon wielding beastman. But our beloved king hacked downtheir general before issuing his powerful curse to damn their unholy souls.

Thanks to Khepri and his powerful charge Ra-atem and his warriors survived their first

combat, but failed their second as the evil Doombull charged itself into their flank whilelocked in combat with some ungors. The real hero of today was Nurg, he ran down thehateful unit of great weapon wielding beastman with their battle standard then charging theunit of Minotaurs in the rear, hacking them down when they fled and ran.

In the end I was left with both our war-sphinxs despite the beast-host throwing anotherchariot and their dreaded Doom-bull at Nurg, Ha! We saw the end of them, I had no doubt.

    No doubt at all..

: Victory to Ra-num (by 100 points) oh YEAH! 2500: Prissy for Nurg!

: Note to self: do not cast anything HUGE on first turn again?

Mealstorm Games in the UK has stopped shipping GW minis to Australia thus stopping our access tocheap GW products. This has sent a many wargamer here into a frenzy cant say it effects us too much, its business as normal here.

    Bad Dice Ogres

Things that went wrong, no parries, ogres hit like 3+ not 4+, Screaming Skull Catapults missed, Casketgot ripped to pieces by Gorgers then blew up wounding my Screaming Skull only, Light of Death didnothing, magic rolls low - ogre magic rolls high, ward save character failed, failed charge on 7+, mymissile fire poor, ogre parry good.

What went wrong did go wrong.

Other than that Yeah great game?

That third skeleton unit did nothing. Lesson learnt.

: Comp hit opponent (nasty list)

GW has done it again Ho hum. This time banning people from their Facebook fan page, why? Theysay its because of bad langrage and defaming remarks, something that is understandable really giventheir actions. But alas most of the banning has just been a nasty removal of negative remarks.

Alas they want feedback So long as its good feedback .

The following two battles are played on the 29th May 2011, at Unlimited Hobbies using the new 8thEd armybook. All The following battles are 2500 points

    Mean O Beasts II

    Scenario:Claim The Battlefield Objectives

Deploy as per the Battle Line scenario (page 144). Game Length 3 hours or 6 turns. At the start of the game, players roll off to determine which piece of scenery on the table arethe 2 Battlefield Objectives. This can be any piece of terrain (eg: well, pond, hill, tower, forest, etc).

At the start of Turn 2, players roll off again. The player who rolls highest will determine whichof these 2 Battlefield Objectives is the Primary and Secondary objective.

However, at the start of Turn 6, the player who won the roll off and decided which was the

Primary and Secondary objective must roll another die. If the roll is a 2+ nothing happens. Ona roll of a 1, the Primary and Secondary objective will switch the primary will become thesecondary and the secondary will become the primary! ??? did not do this ???

Claiming an objective the player with a unit containing a standard closest to the objective(and within 3) at the end of the game claims the objective. In the event 2 units withstandards are equidistant, the unit with the most models claims the objective. Split points if

units are the same size with standards.

Did you claim the primary objective? (3BP) Did you claim the secondary objective? (2BP)

    More Beastman, here we go.

We moved around the battlefield putting our light cavalry protecting our Screaming SkullCatapult concerning some ungors outflanking us. A lucky hit from our catapult crushed theDoombull stone dead, which was very impressive.

Sur-ra was using his magical sand-shifting powers with the Mighty Scroll of Incantationsand threw a massive Sandstorm at the beastman, alas though it just fell short and wasdispelled the turn after. The Beastman horde that contained their two shamans and their general and their battlestandard moved into the middle building in case the sandstorm was not dispelled.

But horribly to my disbelief Zackaoss failed to cast the incantation of desiccation and thesame heavy hitting Beastman unit cut down our holy kings skeleton unit in which I waswith at the time, oh the folly, the unbelievable folly?

As my spirit returned to our blessed realm I knew that what was left of our holy host, even

though will always fight to the last broken bone and bent golden blade, will, and didcrumble to dust.

Oh the folly of it all

: Loss to Ra-num (Hard army)

: Nope: Geee guys gentle with the comp of your armies?

    The Strange Coffin ?

    Scenario:Catch the cart (coffin)

Deployment Altered Battle Line page 144. Roll for sides winner chooses but hisdeployment zone extends 24 up one table edge, and down to the bottom corner of the otherside (roll off winner chooses L/R for Angle when choosing sides). Both armies are stilltherefore 24 apart, fighting on a slight diagonal ??? Battle did not do this, we deployednormally ???

    Game Length 6 Turns

The Cart As per Loot & Pillage oi thats my ale page 393 Scenario Special Rules. Placethe Cart (use 1 players objective model) in the exact centre of the battlefield.

At the start of each players turn, the cart moves D6 directly away from the nearest unit. Itcannot be harmed. ??? Did not do this either in battle???

The Cart can be charged by both sides, fleeing 2D6. If the cart is caught by a unit it is notdestroyed, but is claimed by that unit. The cart no longer moves on its own but is attached tothe unit that claimed it. This unit can no longer March or Fly. If the unit with the cart is beatenin combat, regardless of whether it fails its break test or not, the cart is claimed by thewinning unit. In multiple unit combats, any unit on winning side in base contact with the unit

previously holding the cart can claim it. Should the unit with the cart flee for any reason; thecart is no longer claimed and is left behind on its own when the unit flees.

Did you have possession of the cart at the end of the game? 5BP. (If neither side has thecart, 2.5BP each)

As we tried to return to Romainia another Tomb King drew us to battle. They where after astrange coffin in the middle of the battlefield so we had little choice but to engage them?

It was a touch and go battle, our lights of death caused havoc against both of our armies, weended up the weaker because of our one Screaming Skull Catapult to their two.

A nasty long ranged chariot charge smashed our smaller chariots ripping them up to bits.Ra-num lead his skeletons right down the battle-line taking the objective which was the

coffin of something dark and strange only of course to be rear charged by our foes dreadWar-sphinx, which ended up destroying the whole unit with Thunder-crushers that alwayshit and flaming breath. Even our holy kings curse could not bring the beast down.

Both Caskets were lost and the only thing notable was that one of our carrions unitsdestroyed the other kings light cavalry unit containing two of their Liche. That did notmatter in the end. The day was lost to us.

    Battle: 7/31 Composition: 8/15?

    Overall: 15/40

8th place out of 8 Players.

Club Challenge notes: No more composition friendly lists, most of the lists at this months CC wherecheesy to say the least with bad comp.

Club Challenge Lessons: Level 2 Liche do not work.

A fellow wargamer posted a GW response on Wargammerau. It went on and on with longwords trying to justify GWs stance on price hiking but highlighted the following. That is why we took the decision to take legitimate action to restrict European trade accountsfrom selling the goods they purchase from Games Workshop outside Europe. We can't changeexchange rates. And we can't pay our staff and landlords half of what we do in Australia in

    order to match European pricing.

    Mark Wells, Chief Executive

Cant or Wont? Funny that they can say they cant reduce prices but then they can increase them? Yetthey have to learn the hard way at the expense at the Australian tourney seen.
