Official unemployment rates are 4.9%

The reason for such a low number is because many Nigerians are entrepreneurs.

Either by choice or circumstance

However they face the same challenges:

The New Business Initiative NBI seeks to address all these problems

responsibly promotion of youths in various endeavors that would foster positive change and development in our society.

To create platforms for the Nigerian youth to get established in the human capital development industry

OUR MISSION

To create opportunities for the Nigerian youth using entertainment and entrepreneurship as a means of empowerment and self-reliance

OBJECTIVE To annually access, mentor

and engage over 500 young people and contribute to the number of employable expertise in Nigeria.

The NBI will kick start from the fashion industry

This is because of the associated industries and spill over job creation and new business generation opportunities in associated fields.

The global penetration and reach

These associated fields cover:◦ Textiles◦ Online media and platforms◦ Entertainment◦ Media◦ Publishing ◦ Fashion accessories◦ Cosmetics and beauty

BEK AFRICA will seek for nominations from vocational centers, initiatives, and Organization for youths who have skills in:

Clothes making,

Leather works

Bead making

Hair

An exhibition interview will be set up by BEK Africa to select ten youths to participate in the programme after the exhibition.

TRAINING THE ENTREPRENEURS: The selected entrepreneurs will be sent to LEAP Africa for a Leadership training in:

Entrepreneurship,

Building solid business plans,

Marketing,

Customer relation and loyalty,

Partnership and business expansion etc; Training duration: 7 working days

Training venue: Leap Africa offices

BEK Africa will send the entrepreneurs for a two week mentorship programme with professionals in the fashion industry

The goal is to gain first hand experience on running a business

Mentors include but are not restricted to:◦ Zizi Cardow◦ Dakova◦ FAB◦ Vivid Imagination◦ Susan Eyo Honesty◦ Idowu Tailors◦ JVD

RAISING THE ENTREPRENEURS: BEK Africa will invite successful business owners, and the following:◦ Family members, ◦ Micro finance banks, ◦ Community leaders and community based

organizations

Business support will be through:◦ Material support ◦ Financial investment ◦ The goal is to aid the business birthing process.

MONITORING THE ENTREPRENEUR: BEK Africa will monitor the progress of selected fashion entrepreneurs
