The optional 7” TFT touch-screen navigation system has intuitive menus, and when in reverse, it also displays images of the rear view camera (not available on S and SE models).

The standard radio/CD player is MP3 compatible and iPod/USB/AUX connections provide easy access to external music devices. Its many audio features can be managed via the handy steering wheel controls*. Or choose the optional audio system with a 4.3” LCD screen, which can also display rear view camera images. Bluetooth* for hands-free calls using voice recognition can be activated on the steering wheel as well.

The new ix35 keeps the surprises coming. It’s jam-packed with advanced technology and luxurious features. Take the heated seats available for both front and rear passengers**, or the air conditioning. Even the steering wheel can be heated on cold winter days*. Our SUV also does a lot of work for you: it

automatically switches on the wipers** or the lights** when necessary, and helps you keep to a set speed with cruise control**. Parking is equally effortless thanks to clever technology like the rear view camera, optional front and rear sensors and Smart Parking Assist System.

To assist you in parking your new ix35, optional front and rear parking sensors show you how much room is left with acoustic alarm signals and a display in the optional supervision cluster. You can judge the distance even better with the rearview camera image that is displayed in the 4.3” screen of the radio (depending on the version) or in the optional navigation system screen. A great feature to help you park your ix35 scratch-free even in tight spaces.

The optional Smart Parking Assist System takes effortless parking one step further. It finds a suitable parallel parking space, judges the distance to the car in front and at the rear and steers the car into the slot for you. All you need to do is adjust the speed and change gears accordingly.

DRIVE TO YOUR BEAT If the ix35 design stands for enticement, the drive offers a fantastic reward. All our engineering expertise has gone into this powerful SUV to ensure you enjoy every minute of its poise and excellent handling. On top of that, our latest Blue Drive technology (available as an option on the 1.6 GDi and 1.7 CRDi models) keeps fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions to a minimum – but not at

the expense of performance. There is a choice of two diesel engines; the 1.7 CRDi and the 2.0 CRDi. The 2.0 is available as a 4WD option, for extra prowess should you veer towards more challenging terrain. A 1.6 GDi petrol engine is also available.

For greater stability on tricky surfaces, the 4WD system takes into account road condition, wheel speed and acceleration and distributes the torque between front and rear wheels.

Whether you’re tackling tough terrain or a steep city hill, Hill Start Assist Control prevents the SUV from rolling backwards when you pull away. Downhill Brake Control helps you going down a steep incline; instead of holding the brake, the ix35 will descend at a gentle, controlled pace.

The CRDi engine exudes pure refinement with a perfect mix of power and efficiency.

A choice of six-gear manual or six-gear automatic transmissions with sequential gear shift translates the ix35’s power to the road.

With optional Flex Steer you can adjust the steering performance to your personal driving style: it includes Comfort mode for easy parking and urban driving, Normal mode, and Sports mode for motorway driving.
