Church Safety and Security March 13, 2018 I’m told there is a higher probability of a shooter being at church than in a school. Do you have a plan in place? Do you have a team of people trained to handle an incident, be it shooter, unruly person, medical emergency? First, let me deal with some definitions. On Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 6-8pm at Yulee Baptist Church we will host a training for Security / Safety teams. The training will be led by an expert in the field of security - Stacy Ettel. After a brief training session, he will take our group through Yulee Baptist Church doing an evaluation of areas of vulnerability. He will then be available to come to your church at a separate date for $150, The Florida Baptist Convention will also contribute $150 to- ward his service. There is no charge for the March 13 Association training, and we’ll throw in a Chick fil A super. Please RSVP us nefba.bellsouth.net and let us know how many are coming. Of course, Pastor I would only bring peo- ple that you hand pick to come to this training. Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of service as your missionary! David Drake

Dr. David Drake, Director of Missions

Volume 64 Issue 23 March/April 2018

I certainly hope each of you had a Merry Christmas and are planning a safe Happy New

Year 2018. The old year is history and the new year is uncertainty! Even though the New

Year 2018 is uncertainty it is also opportunity. An opportunity to walk closer with Jesus and

to share Jesus with all we come into contact. Any day this year we may hear the Trumpet and see

Jesus face to face! Halleluiah!

Our last Newsletter went out November 1 and we highlighted the below conference. On November 5,

2017 at 11:30am (CT) Devon Kelly who had an issue with his Mother in Law began firing outside The First Baptist

Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas he entered the church killing 25 and wounding many others gathered for wor-

ship. Please take Church safety seriously! Devon knew the church and the church knew him, he attended their fall

festival just 5 days earlier on October 31.

Church Safety and Security

March 13, 2018

I’m told there is a higher probability of a shooter being at church than in a school. Do you have a plan in place?

Do you have a team of people trained to handle an incident, be it shooter, unruly person, medical emergency?

First, let me deal with some definitions. A Security team is made of off duty Law Enforcement or certified Secu-

rity personnel. You can have ordinary folks or a mixture of the two but then they are a Safety team. Enough about

definitions!

On Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 6-8pm at Yulee Baptist Church we will host a training for Security / Safety

teams. The training will be led by an expert in the field of security Stacy Ettel. After a brief training session, he will

take our group through Yulee Baptist Church doing an evaluation of areas of vulnerability. He will then be available

to come to your church at a separate date for $150, The Florida Baptist Convention will also contribute $150 to-

ward his service. There is no charge for the March 13 Association training, and we’ll throw in a Chick fil A super.

Please RSVP us nefba.bellsouth.net and let us know how many are coming. Of course, Pastor I would only bring peo-

ple that you hand pick to come to this training.

Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of service as your missionary!

MOBILE DENTAL UNIT COMING AGAIN APRIL 23-27, 2018

Preparations are under way for this year’s mobile dental unit. Lots of help is needed. If you would like to be blessed by helping us out please give Laurie a call at the office, 904.225.5941 to sign up. We are also out recruiting den-tists to volunteer to work in the unit for 4 hours. If your dentist would be interested let Laurie know and we will contact them. We need volunteers on Tuesday, April 17th to help us fill out the papers for patients when they come in. It’s really easy and we will do a training on April 10th @ 6:30 pm to teach you and to swear you in as a 110C health care worker.
