From the 39ers PresidentsWe hope, by now, we are all enjoying the cool fall weather. After this hot summer, it’s hard to believe we are wearing a jacket. We want to thank the Rosen JCC for inviting us to their World Fair Senior Expo. We had a very good turnout and enjoyed the afternoon. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, followed by Chanukah and a brand New Year. We are planning our yearly Chinese Auction on Monday, December 10th. If you want to participate, bring an unwrapped gift, valued at $5.00. Also, hold Monday, December 17th, for our holiday party. Look for the details for both events in this issue. We want to welcome two new members, Loren and Judy Garrett to the 39ers. Please give them a warm welcome.If you haven’t paid your dues for the New Year, please see Sheri Obrien. If Sheri is not available, see Barbara or Florence, and they can forward your payment. 2018 has been a year of ups and downs. We wish everyone a happy, healthy and enjoyable new year. Wow Wednesdays

On any Tuesday beginning at 1pm, you can find the Senior Lounge filled with 39ers playing their favorite games. Try your hand at mah jongg, dominoes, canasta, pinochle and bridge. If you’d like to introduce your favorite game, let us know! You can organize your own table with other 39ers.

Bits & PiecesWe begin this issue by apologizing to BARBARA BECKER for omitting that in July she brought us cake and ice cream to celebrate her birthday. Thank you, BARBARA, for your generosity. MOREY & MOLLY SOLOMON added to our Indoor Picnic with an assortment of fresh fruit which really hit the spot! SHERI O’BRIEN brought us great refreshments to honor her husband, ALVIN’S, “yahrzeit.” Another thoughtful and caring member, RUTH “BILLIE” GOLDHAR donated an assortment of cupcakes to honor her birthday. We thank them all! And speaking of giving “thanks” we extend them to all the members who donated to our Chair Fund. Our lounge now has a new look because of our replacement chairs!
