    "hat is he Obvious#

This book is called The Obvious" Universal Laws for Business uccess because there

are Obvious ractices that are so universal that the1 have become like laws 1ou

must do to be successful in business8 "ithout them9 1ou will not achieve success8

Peole often look for secrets to success rather than recogni;e The Obvious and do

    them8

'o9 what is The Obvious# The Obvious can be summed u like this: It is virtuall1

hidden from eole>s view because eole don>t like the answer8 The1 don>t like the

answer that the1 actuall1 do have to do the work8 One of the core secrets is that 1ou

actuall1 have to build great relationshis and invest in 1our future ever1da18 That>s

where most eole miss the mark8 +elationshis are a foundational art of service9

which is ke1 for all business success but the long term success is based on the follow

    u and follow through7

That>s where it comes back to The Obvious8 Bou>ve got to see the things that are

    Obvious8 ,ost eole do see them8 The1>re

    +ecogni;ing the Obvious work re@uired is s a foundational ke19 though9 so 1ou will not

fight the rocess because there will be us and downs8 Bou>ll begin to see that clues

are certainl1 eas1 to find when 1ou>re focused on the big icture9 but 1ou>ve got to

break it down to master the mundane8 Then9 1ou have to make sure 1our team sees

the same vision8 Mision drives it through8

This book gets 1ou on the right track so that 1ou can oen 1ourself u to learning

      he Obvious is Universal

5ow that 1ou know that The Obvious is work9 it becomes clear to see that The

Obvious is also universal8 Lots of eole work in businesses or organi;ations of their

own or those that others own8 The t1e of work that gets done and how it gets done

    roduces the results8 If 1ou don>t like the results 1ou>re getting9 change what 1ou>re

    doing8 It>s that simle8 ,an1 eole want success9 but overlook what it reall1 takes

to make it haen8 This book will oint 1ou in the right direction8

This chater in articular describes how to: &e Insired b1 Bour Mision Find

Power in Bour "h1 &elieve in Bourself et Bourself Accountable Dance with

Challenges &e Consistentl1 Persistent and Pa1 It Forward8 These are all ke1 to

The Obvious laws of 'uccess9 which are universal8

There are various wa1s to do the how6to>s for doing The Obvious work8 'ome

wa1s are more efficient than others8 ven though man1 eole know about The

Obvious9 the1 still do not do what it takes to achieve success8

Decide now8 Do The Obvious9 Live the Dream7 It all starts with 1our vision8

      &e Insired b1 Bour Mision

Do 1ou re@uire motivation to succeed dail1# "hich do 1ou think is better:

    ,otivation or Insiration# Bou know9 it>s a great @uestion because I hear a lot

about how 1ou>ve got to motivate 1our saleseole8 Bou do need to motivate eole

to have success9 but motivation b1 itself is not the answer8

,1 challenge with motivation being ke1 comes down to the scenario of if 1ou take a

grou of eole that are idiots and 1ou motive them9 what do 1ou have# That>s

right 1ou>ve got a grou of motivated idiots8

'ee9 I don>t believe that motivation b1 itself is the answer8 I think so often that if

1ou>re motivating eole that>s one thing9 but what haens if 1ou motivate

someone that is going downhill8 Then9 what have 1ou re headed and the1 crash even faster7

I see it in business where eole go to an event9 read a book9 or listen to an audio

seriesKand the1 get all motivated8 ,otivation b1 itself reall1 is an emt1 fi? for the

    real issue8

The real issue for eole is that the1 don>t need motivation8 "hat the1 need is

    education8 The1 need hoe9 education and insiration8

    15

Bou see9 when 1ou look at motivation it might get most eole temoraril1 e?cited8

,a1be having a sales re at 1our auto dealershi or some t1e of business where

the1>ve got to sell something ri#ht now will benefit from being motivated dail18J

    For most eole9 though9 it>s actuall1 insiration that>s most essential8

Insiration trul1 starts with the ower of 1our language8 Bou see9 what I find is

that so man1 eole do understand that what trul1 rovides the foundation for

    success is the @ualit1 of 1our communication8

'o9 if 1ou want to have even more success9 like having better relationshis or

    making more mone19 look at the @ualit1 of 1our abilit1 to effectivel1 communicate8

"here does that start# It starts with education8 It starts with hoe9 education and

    insiration8

"hen man1 successful eole are asked the @uestion9 "hat motivates 1ou# The1

    answer9 I don>t need the motivation8

    In an interview with Ton1 +obbins9 the1 asked him9 Ton19 what motivates 1ou

when it comes to doing all the things 1ou do# Bou know what he said# Ne said9

,1 vision is so strong it actuall1 ulls me towards m1 goals8 Nis vision insires

    him into action8

    16

  • 8/20/2019 The Obvious PDF

    17/129

That>s what I>d like 1ou to focus on8 Take a moment and sto focusing on being

motivated and start focusing on getting insired about what 1ou>re doing8 "rite

down what insires 1ou to get into action8

    "hat is 1our MI'IO5#

'ometimes what 1ou find insiring can changeKbut when 1ou trul1 find a vision

that is deel1 insiring for 1ou9 it insires 1ou over and over again in a wa1 that

    drives 1ou into taking action8

"here does insiration come from# Insiration comes from taing into 1our sirit

that>s inside8 nthusiasm comes from 1our sirit8 It comes from having the assion

that actuall1 ulls 1ou to create more success versus t believe that eole who are merel1 e?cited are going to have long6term

    success8 The1 ma1 be motivated and success that da18

'hort6term motivation is a big roblem I see with the diet comanies8 "h1 do most

of these diets fail for most eole9 1et the1 kee on the same t1es of diets over and

over# The answer is because the1 get motivated to lose that weight and to look like

the erson on the TM screen9 so the1 look for a @uick fi? to lose the weight @uickl1K

while the1>re still motivated8 The motivation wears off8 +ather than motivation and

@uick fi?es that don>t last9 what eole need to that want to lose weight is to get

insired about h1sical fitness and being in great shae7 &eing insired changes the

language the1 use and their actions to get a good education about weight6related

toics like nutrition and e?ercise8 Insiration from the inside will hel get 1ou on a

solid ath to success7 MI'IO5 is the driver that elevates 1our insiration ever1da1

to achieve the most outrageous goals ever imaginable8 Nave Faith IT "O+G'7

Nere>s another e?amle about motivation8 All the time9 I see eole get motivated to

    make mone18 I ask eole9 "hat motivates 1ou# The1 sa1 things like9 ,aking

    $94449 *94449 $49444 a month8 I>d be reall1 motivated8

That ma1 motivate them in the short6term8 "hat that reall1 is for most eole is a

false sense of accomlishment because now the1 go out there9 hit the goal one

month9 but then the ne?t month the1 go right back down8 The reason is9 once again9

    the1 are not trul1 insired8 The1 are not coming from a lace where the1>re

insired to understand the ower of their communication and of their language and

the true driver that will move them to consistent dail19 weekl1 and monthl1 success7

Bou see9 it>s better to make a statement than to ask the motivation @uestion8 'tart

    1our statement with these two words: I A,8 That>s right9 I am8 In 1our thoughts9

use statements like: I am even more successful8 I am going to do an even better s where it trul1 starts8 If 1ou want to have a lot of success at whatever it is

    that 1ou>re doing9 look at the @ualit1 of 1our language8

Is 1our language insiring 1ou to move towards that outcome# Or are 1ou re s not going to work8 It>s not going to last8

Bou>ll have to have more motivation8 That>s wh1 1ou>ve got to kee going back and

b1 taking a stand on the inside so that 1our assion begins to shine through on the

outside7 This is where the success begins9 and taing into 1our vision is what begins

and fuels the long term rocess of winning7 "hen 1our vision becomes so strong

that 1ou don>t want to slee9 eat9 watch TM or an1thing that is not related to highest

Nere>s an eas1 wa1 for a new business to track success from Day One8 Look at

Now man1 new eole do we rosect#

&ecause when 1ou look at a coman19 the basic oeration is two things:
