Letter from the President
Hello,
It’s back! This is going to be an actual thing. The Olympian will be something regular! I
am very excited to see this and so many other initiatives go through this year.
The IFC and a few chapters in the Greek community have thrown their support for the
Gender-based Violence Prevention Project, and are actively working with this SU initia-
tive. It is great to see support for projects such as this coming from the Greek community.
As leaders on campus, and leaders in the general community, it is important that we take a
stand to promote equality amongst all demographics.
Philanthropy To say I’m astounded by the philanthropic work of the Greek community over the past
month is an understatement! We have raised nearly $15 000 for various local, national,
and international efforts. It makes me proud to stand with the Greek community and
promote the valiant efforts of all of our members. And the events that are happening are
so wide and varied, just as the causes we are supporting. I love seeing this kind of work
being done, and I cannot wait to see what lies ahead.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
You can find me by email at [email protected], or by phone at (250) 793-5014.
Sincerely,
Christopher Young

Dunk a DU
The first ever Dunk A DU happened
on October 15 and was a splashing
success. Participants spent $5 for 3
balls in effort to knock their favorite
member of Delta Upsilon into a chilly
dunk tank. With help from faculty,
students, parents and alumni, the event
raised $500 towards buying soccer
balls, hula hoops, basketballs, and
other sports and play equipment for
the Garneau Elementary School.
Games for
