Christmas is a time for giving. For RCMO, however,

Christmas could be any day.

In the past weeks, RCMO had been busy sharing the blessings that it had received from various benefactors to its beneficiaries. It donated books to RC Los Banos Makiling for its adopted public school. It also gave an old encyclopedia set to Catanauan Elementary School in Catanauan, Quezon. RCMO also brought on December 8 about 200 books to St. Genevieve School of Pateros which will be used by the school’s Interact Club in its reading and story telling sessions. RCMO also donated 1,000 seedlings of hardwood trees to a Catanauan barangay for use in its reforestation project. RCMO is organizing an RCC in this locality to help in caring for the trees.

The President’s Corner

My dear Fellow Olympians,

We are almost halfway through

December. It means that we are on

our fourth month as a duly

chartered club and our founding anniversary is

just around the bend.

A year ago, our founders were at the crossroads in

Rotary. We had many options to take but in the wee

hours of December 15, having RCMO was the way

that we chose to follow. That has been realized and

now we are together in the long journey of service.

The last four months had been a whirlwind. As we

shake the dust that it has created through the

remaining days of 2010 via our Share-a-Christmas-

Cheer Gift Giving and our Governor's visit, let us put

into our hearts the many things that we need to do for

humanity in the coming months and years even as we

enjoy the festive season of Christmas.

For our Founding Anniversary celebration, it will

be most memorable if all of us can spare some time to be

with the kids and their families whose lives we have

been touching since July. This will be on December 15,

1-3pm at Jose Magsaysay Elementary School. You

may still want to add to the goodies that we are

preparing especially those who have corporate

giveaways. These are all very welcome. Your presence,

of course, cannot be substituted by the material things

that we will be giving them.

On December 21, I appeal for your attendance. I

know that your calendar must be full already, but let

us give Gov. Ed our warmest welcome. We must

remember that he is our Chartering Governor, our

club's father. Filipino tradition tells us that the visit

of a valued family member is always an affair that is

much anticipated. Let us make it his most memorable

Governor's visit.

Through the holidays, may I request you to

recommit to RCMO's endeavors for the second

semester and beyond. PE Jay shall start to prepare for

his term and I will be sharing with him the club‘s

leadership starting January. Let us make it easy for

him to take on the Presidency with our wholehearted

support. I promise to give mine... Please also do... for

PE Jay, for RCMO and Rotary!

Thank you for your love for RCMO and Rotary.

God has been very good to us!
