It is election time and candidates are talking about many important issues that are facing our nation. Many issues except for one.

The Workforce. The engine that fuels the growth and development that candidates on both sides of the aisle are preaching about. The engine that is facing one of the toughest labor markets in recent time.

Young people play a big part in this picture. Many leaving college with a degree that is not preparing them for the challenges in today’s workforce, and embarking on a job search in which the jobs they pursue do not always come with the training needed for them to succeed.

The problem we face is not one that can be solved with a stump speech. It is one that calls for the next administration to focus on reforming the college experience, how we approach college loans (Does it really cost that much to go to college?), and the benefits government provide to business owners that make the choice to invest in their people.

THESE ARE BIG PROBLEMS. And while I agree we have many, I expect to hear more on a topic that impacts so many every day when they wake up to go to work. As the next President of the United States – this is most definitely their job!
