Welcoming families & individuals to experience the Light & Sound of God at this month’s ECKANKAR Worship Service, Sunday January 3rd at 11:00 a.m.

ECKANKAR is a worldwide religion known to many as an ancient teaching. The ECK, or the Holy Spirit, works on our own behalf to expand our consciousness and help us see God in our everyday lives. Harold Klemp, the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, is the leader of ECKANKAR.

The Purpose of the ECKANKAR Worship Service

“A good way to lift ourselves spiritually is to chant or sing the name of God, which is HU. ECK Worship Services are now being held around the world. As part of the service, we sing HU together. A Catholic priest has been attending ECK Worship Services in Minneapolis. He finds that it makes him a better Catholic. He said that he has been telling a friend of his, a Protestant minister, that he likes the feeling he gets when he comes to the service. Nobody pressures him to become a member of ECKANKAR, or anything like that. We are there simply to sing HU, the holy name of God, and each person is open to receive whatever he can.”

—Harold Klemp, We Come as Eagles, p. 28

Join us every Saturday and some Sundays from 11:00 to 12:00 for a spiritual event at our South Bay ECK Center

The Spiritual Café

The title of this January’s Spiritual Café is “Divine Guidance Is Our Natural Inheritance.” It is a fundraiser, featuring a spiritual exercise and a soup tasting with five different homemade soups. The event is January 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome, so bring a friend and enjoy the café and fellowship.

Spiritual Discussions

“When you give truth to someone, you don’t always have to talk about ECK this or ECK that. You work with them in terms of their state of consciousness.” (Drumbeat of Time, p. 83).

Listening before speaking is a valuable skill to master. As we seek to understand ourselves, we become refined among others. This is the purpose of the spiritual discussion.

Book Discussions

The book discussion on The Flute of God will be held at 11 a.m. on the fourth Saturday and every three months, so be sure to make it again in April. In January, Chapter two will be discussed. Sunny Mohseni is the instructor, and is sure to give a fresh look at the work of Paul Twitchell, the modern day found of ECKANKAR. Also, Abbie Layton is leading a high-energy book discussion on the booklet, ECKANKAR, Ancient Wisdom for Today, on the second Saturday of the month.

Community HU Song

HU is all things to all people. You can find out for yourself what this simple spiritual exercise of singing HU can do for you. You have opportunities to try it on the first two Sundays of the month. “HU, the secret name of God….can be chanted or sung quietly to yourself when you are in trouble or when you need consolation in time of grief. It gives strength, it gives health, it opens you as a channel for the greater healing of Divine Spirit.”

—How to Find God, p. 313

An Exercise to Try

Contemplation Seed for Times of Distress

Here is a short contemplation seed the ECK Master Lai Tsi found in himself upon returning from the heavenly worlds. Should anyone be in distress or need to reach the great Sugmad, use this contemplation. Repeat it slowly. It certainly brings results. Show me Thy ways, O Sugmad; Teach me Thy path. Lead me in Thy truth, and teach me; On Thee do I wait all day. Remember, O Beloved, Thy guiding light And Thy loving care. For it has been ever Thy will To lead the least of Thy servants to Thee!

Harold Klemp

The Spiritual Leader of Eckankar

Eckankar: Experience the Light and Sound of God Eckankar teaches that there is an audible life current known as the ECK,

or Holy Spirit, that connects each of us with the heart of God. We can experience the ECK as Light and Sound.

Through study and practice of the Spiritual Exercises of ECK we learn to

recognize the Light and Sound of God as it touches our lives and brings increased divine love.

The spiritual leader of Eckankar is the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master,

Sri Harold Klemp. The Mahanta is the inner, or spiritual, form of the Living ECK Master. The Mahanta gives inner guidance through dreams, Soul Travel, and the Spiritual Exercises of ECK.

Harold Klemp’s inspiring talks and writings, and his practical approach to

spirituality, help thousands of people worldwide find greater freedom, wisdom, and love. His teachings uplift and help people recognize their own experiences with the Light and Sound of God.
